I took my teenage grandson to Randy Now's Man Cave this week in Hightstown NJ - He is a BIG Beatles fan and fan of other artists from the 60's an 70's. As we walked in I felt like I was a teenager myself - a trip for sure down memory lane. The selection of vinyls and memorabilia was amazing - and Randy was such a great person to meet and talk with. He had such awesome stories to share with my grandson and I. If you are a music lover or collector take the time to visit this store - you won't be disappointed. HIGHTSTOWN: Randy Now's Man Cave is an awesome spot in downtown Hightstown selling used vinyl records, CDs, old-school collectibles, and more! Leashed and friendly dogs are allowed inside and we met the man himself, Randy, who was so nice to talk to! We went home with an Allman Brothers CD, a couple of 45 records, bubblegum flavored soda, and a Star Trek Voyager postcard. Quite an eclectic haul and we love it! Terrific well stocked store for vinyl records, cds, books, oddities, and all things Rock & Roll history. But the real gem of the store is the vey helpful and personable Randy himself. Randy booked all the music at the legendary Trenton City Gardens and there is a movie about this wild period of music featuring punk rock classics. There is a nice section of Jazz albums and a listening booth area if you want to preview a vintage album. The store has a great selection of eclectic and vintage sodas and Charles Chips snacks. Prices are all fair and there are even live acts that play in the store! Great destination store! read more

Nice little shop. Plenty of merchandise to browse, records, books, collectibles... Owner was cheerful and engaging. While most of the records are well organized, the back rack needs some attention. Not quite sure what the system was there. I understand this place relocated from Bordentown but not sure how long ago so it may well be they haven't finished setting everything in place. Otherwise the place is great. I understand from the owner they have guests appear to perform in n a regular basis and as it's situated between a brewery and what may be the oldest diner in america, you can grab a drink and a meal and come right back to shopping. Randy Now's Man Cave is located in a great neighborhood area, with a free parking lot, in Hightstown, NJ right next to Old Hights Brewery. It's a roomy and very eclectic record store with a large and well-curated selection of records (and lots of rare vinyl) for every genre of music you can think of. The records are neatly organized and you can easily sift through the bins without getting overwhelmed or constantly bumped into. Aside from the records, Randy Now's also sells vintage memorabilia, CDs, 8-Tracks, toys, books and even personalized "Randy Now" sodas. I spent what felt like hours just looking through some cool old promo pictures that were for sale! Randy and his staff are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about records. They love to "talk shop", learn about your tastes and give solid, personal recommendations based on your music interests. I loved getting to hear Randy's talk about his radio show and his fascinating stories about the punk rock and hardcore shows that he put on at City Gardens in Trenton. The vibe walking into this shop is VERY POSITIVE and you are NOT going to experience a staff with "holier than thou" attitudes. I've found prices on most things to be comparable to what you could get them for online but without question, supporting this gem of an indie record store is the far better deal. There are even several bargain crates where you can pick 4 records for $10. Also, I strongly suggest checking out the documentary, "Riot on the Dance Floor: Story of Randy Now and City Gardens". It will make you love this little record store (and Randy!) even more. This store is awesome! My cousin and I were here while visiting Jersey looking for a cool place to go to when there's not a ton of things to do where we were staying. We saw pics and reviews of this place and decided to head down there. Randy (of Randy's Now Man Cave) was there front and center greeting people, engaging in multiple conversations and telling stories with everyone. Even giving out Hersey kisses to people in the store! (it was after Christmas). It's the small things that count. He was super helpful and friendly. You can tell his passion is working the shop, he wanted to be there. The store itself is so interesting as you can find tons of different things here. Tons of VHS's, DVD's, Cassette Tapes, Vinyl Records, books, figures, music magazines and so many more collectible goodies! I found stuff I wanted to buy within the first minute of walking in this store. Amazing place. Even has a big refrigerator for refreshments to buy! If your into anything I just mentioned then I recommend you make it a priority to stop by Randy Now's Man Cave and get ready to spend at least 30 minutes to an hour in there! read more

I love coming here! Randy is always so friendly and enjoys telling customers his interesting, colorful stories, hey ask him about the framed Lennon album above the cash register. He's got a great collection of CDs, used vinyl and memorabilia at very reasonable prices. Randy is always there and ready to regale you with stories of his days running Trenton's famed City Gardens where anyone from The Ramones to The Replacements would litterally tear the walls of the joint and where Jon Stewart (yes, THAT Jon Stewart) used to tend bar. The store itself is small but in that cozy, non-claustrophobic way. While the CD selection leaves something to be desired, Randy keeps his vinyl healthily stocked and he's a champion of local music. Every once in a while, he'll bring someone in for an in-store appearance/book signing, etc. Most recently, he had May Pang (John Lennon's girlfriend from 1973 - 1975 during his fames "Lost Weekend") in for a signing. As for music, literally everything from Frank Sinatra to GG Alllin. And everything in between, too! The owner was the impresario behind the fabled City Gardens new wave/ska/punk/metal club in Trenton. Hang out a bit and you'll see local and internationally known musicians and performers, skaters, babes, dudes, lowlifes, ministers (including from Ministry!) and housewives all stopping in, chatting, delivering, and buying the cool gear here. Lots of not-in-the-store items can be ordered, and the owner, Randy, is constantly bringing in rare vinyl, books, and CDs. Worth a trip, and if, on the rare occasion, you find nothing worth taking home, stroll around the cool downtown area, have a craft beer or a coffee or a sumptuous meal and a new shipment will have arrived that has something for you. read more

I went to Randy's Man Cave not knowing what to expect today... It came recommended to me by a friend who said it was a "Must See"! OMG, what an awesome surprise! This little shop is FULL of the coolest stuff. He carries old candy, soda, records, CD's, TV show memorabilia, and just about anything you think you would never see again. Heck, he even had a box of General Mills QUISP breakfast cereal. I haven't seen that since I was like 10 years old! My wife and I spent near an hour in the shop today and still probably didn't even scratch the surface of a fraction of what he has to offer. Plus, everything we looked at is more than fairly priced. As for the man, Randy.....QUITE the character! VERY into the old school music scene. Apparently he was a local music promoter for most of his early life and knows a boatload of musicians. In fact he was telling us that there is a movie coming out this summer on his life story. Summer of 2015. I will definitely be going to see it. As was written here before by others...Randy ranks on top, of the nicest, friendliest business owners you'll ever wanna meet!! This is by far the best record shop in Jersey especially if you're looking for 80's & 90's/ska/punk/hardcore/rock. After going to so many record stores in New Jersey, I finally found the perfect place. I found so many records that I've been looking for and the best part is... the prices are very reasonable. I appreciate Randy the owner for beeing so nice and hospitable. He's a great guy who is very knowledgeable with music. Occassionally, he also puts up shows here from different artists which I think is very cool! If you're in the Bordentown area it's a must to come and check this store out! Randy Now's Man Cave is a gem! Where else can you see in-store performances, such as Richard Lloyd (Television, Rocket From the Tombs) while practically sitting at the artist's feet? Randy is the coolest, accommodating guy too. He drove me & my guy to the Holiday Inn Express after the Richard Lloyd show (we were from out of town). He's quite a storyteller too. The few record stores where I live don't book artists of the caliber that he has - Richard Lloyd, Midge Ure, for example. Hope to go again. This shop is a unique rare find! This shop has anything and everything nostalgic! Records, record players, vintage mad magazines, pop culture antiques, vintage toys and so much more!! But my favorite is the rare gourmet sodas! The owner said he drives out of state just to get them. Which says to me that they are worth the trip! Not to mention, the owner is very sweet and kind! He is fun to chat with about old pop cultures and bands from the 50's and 60's. He is also very reasonable when it comes to prices. This store is no question a must visit. And I was literally blown away not only by the selection, but by the owners sincere generosity and hospitality. I have been to record stores both nationally and internationally, and have never felt more welcomed than what I experienced today. Randy was ill with sinusitis, but he went out of his way for me. What a kool shop! Full of assorted neat things to fill your man cave with. Came for the records. Be sure to check out the back room, and also the underneath bins in the front room, for some quality crate digging. Prices are reasonable, esp. compared to his competition up the street. Hope he gets more R&B and disco. Best thing about the store is Randy's enthusiasm and personality. I happened to find myself in Bordentown because it had the cheapest hotel I could find between Philly and Asbury Park. Since I was in the area, I starting looking for shops and restaurants and discovered the Man Cave. I was overwhelmed from the moment I stepped inside from the fantastic record and cd selections, cool stuff hanging on the wall, Ramones action figures, vintage MAD magazines, and gourmet sodas. My daughter and I browsed for quite a while and I found a Chesterfield Kings album to buy. When I checked out, Randy regaled us with stories about booking the CK's and we ended up hanging out and talking for almost an hour. He has GREAT stories, knows EVERYONE, and is just a kind, gracious guy. He even wrote down all the places we should check out in Asbury Park. I could have stayed there all evening! He turned me on to some new bands and I ended up buying the book about his concert promoter days.
