I've lived in town longer than this store has been around. So... as someone who has been going here for years, I have a pretty fair opinion on the store. It's kind of a mixed bag -- while there is a wide variety of videogame and other related things (no matter how niche), there are a few things keeping this store from truly shining. First of all, the first time I went here was as a little girl. I was begging my mom to get a gamecube with super smash brothers melee, and the guy attending us at the time kept doubting me, asking if I really wanted the game, making whatever excuse because I guess young girls can't play more "competitive" videogames? Like, do you want to make a sale or not? I ended up getting the game anyways, and yes I DO still have it 6 years later, I'm not a pretend gamer or whatever. A few years later I had bought a copy of ocarina of time for the N64, and for some reason it wasn't holding a save, so I asked if they could repair it for me. The game had a clean label and looked crisp, but when they gave me it back, I got one with a crappy label, and the back label was ripped!! I don't think they actually fixed my game and just gave me one of their uglier working copies. Lastly, the prices at this store have gotten ridiculous over the last couple of years. I get it, supply and demand, games are getting rarer, but seriously? There's practically no point coming to this store anymore, when the prices are even higher than ebay's. read more

Surprised there aren't more great reviews for this place. Yes is kind of small, hot and stuffy and not the coolest atmosphere but I'm not here for a party I'm here to buy and leave. I've been to many retro game stores and this place is SUPER reasonably priced, some even better than what you'll find on eBay which is rare. (e.g. snes with controller and cables $60, GameCube $40). Several of every console you can imagine, with multiple copies of so many games, Sega Genesis, SNES, GameCube, ps1. A TON of ps2 games. They've got a ton of boxed old consoles and games. All types of controllers, some neat little items (Mario plushes, Pokemon keychains, Zelda themed stuff) and accessories, like wii fit boards or DK bongos. In the back is the best part-boxes filled with wii, PlayStation, and Xbox 360 games for 99c. Not even bad games either, grabbed a bunch. Cashier was quiet and helpful- I almost sent my mother in by herself and I know she would have been helped and treated nicely even without knowing anything at all about video games. The store itself is on a closed off street but parking isn't bad, there's municipal lots and you don't even have to pay after 5. Afterwards, take a stroll 2 minutes down and check out yestercades. In this store they know their customers. I asked them about a specific game (R-TypeIII) for the Snes and they didn't have it but they told me they would let me know. Normally in other places they say that just to save face, but they legit called me a week after telling me, hey we just got R-TypeIII for Gameboy Advance and you told us you own one and this version is half the price. So... 1-They truly called me back! 2-They found what I wanted... half the price! (That's what I call best customer service ever). 3-If they don't have what you want, give them your phone number and they might surprise you with an even better deal. Prices are generally the same you get online if you consider you have to pay shipping. After that I became a regular client for that store. read more

Absolutely awesome store! Fantastic selection of games, acceptable prices, and an extremely friendly staff. Even if you don't feel like picking up an old classic for a good price, it's usually a great place just to hang out because of the staff and general vibe. They have pretty much any retro system or game, and they have a consistently changing stock so that, even if you don't find the game you're looking for, they may have it in a couple weeks. All in all, there are really no problems with this store (maybe a bit cluttered but, hey, the location is great so it makes up for it), and definitely an immediate recommendation from me. read more

the one employee with long black hair is a straight up rude, stuck up mistake for a human. plus he wears a beret like a douche. i get it you're not the repair guy but you should know about the items that come in and out of your store. and don't catch an attitude when i ask about a system in your store. do you want to make a sale or not ? the store was completely empty yet it seemed like an inconvenience to help a customer. the other employees are cool when you get to talk to them but the one a**h*le with the beret, his attitude is disgusting. avoid him at all cost! if he's the only one in the store, just leave. read more

Was gifted an Nintendo ds and unfortunately it didn't have the charger with it so I decided to visit Retro. As soon as I walked in I told the guy I was looking for a charger and he helped me find it and even took it out the pack to test it on my DS to make sure everything was good before I even left the store was probably there for less then 10 mins ! great place to hang out runs frequent smash tournaments which is awesome. The store is well organized considering it runs on a staff of 2 people both of which are incredibly nice they do their best to help every one. they are both very outgoing 11/10 would recommend to any game enthusiast or any one looking for a cool place to meet some people with similar interests read more

This store is pretty awesome. It might not be big, but it packs loads of old and classic games. NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Sega Master System, Gamecube, and Xbox 360 games can be found here. Also a couple of Nintendo handheld games. Owner and staff are very helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly! A place to visit with prices that are better than Gamestop. read more
