Sells comics in bunches/sets if you are looking to start a collection. Store also stocks a half wall of toys towards the back and collectable figurines around the register area in the front. Clean, well lit, and organized. Literally, the store is stocked from bottom to top. Whitehall Mall is more of a shopping center then a mall, with most of the stores having external entrances, Comicmasters is located in the small indoor "mall" portion. Large selection of new pull comic books, one of the best in the area. JC Comics is better than your average New Jersey comic shop stock wise. Staff member was helpful when you needed it. I can understand why some people might miss this shop, as you have to deal with a busy highway to access the complex. JC Comics should not be missed and is a solid shop.

It's hard to be a die-hard comics only store anymore so I don't blame owners for selling card games and comic related merchandise. But the number of back issues and high-end books are missing considerably. If you a serious collector and read the previous reviews you might be disappointed when you visit looking for certain back issues or 60's, 70's and even 80's stock.

The store itself is relatively small, but then again, most comic stores ARE small. But do not be deceived, good reader. The number of books housed at Comic Relief is quite a lot! The owner is always courteous. But he doesn't say very much if anything at all. Which can be a good thing if you're an introvert, I suppose. :) Overall, this place is excellent for finding the latest releases and even hard-to-find variant covers. However, it's not the best for back issues or quality of issues, for that matter. If it hasn't come out within that same week, expect to find bent corners, spine ticks, and spine wear galore on most of the books. It's not that people are beating the books to hell. It's actually the racks on which they sit, which tend to be simple wire shelves with gaps in them, that the books fall victim to. The wood shelf system on the back wall is much more efficient. However, the way the books tend to be packed on those shelves can also give way to an epic collapse knocking several books to the floor in a matter of seconds. Yikes! And yes, I did see that happen on a number of occasions.

Overall, Zapp Comics with absolutely worth a stop and one of the better shops in this part of New Jersey.
