Let me start by saying that this location is newly opened and still working out kinks. For the most part they were stocked on everything I came looking for but I was underwhelmed with there not being more frozen items. Example no frozen deer sausage, no frozen chicken sausage, no big packs of frozen boudain balls, etc. I honestly do not even think they will have enough space to be able to have these items. It will be ideal for people driving from afar that the frozen items be increased. There was a price misplacement in front of an item and the kind gentleman that was stocking the freezer was not sure how to help me. I appreciated that he went over and beyond to be sure my question was answered. He went to grab another employee and she then was able to help us both with the answer. I gave her a suggestion on what they should do in this case and she took note of it and stated she would pass it along. Now that's great service and enough for me to make the hour drive again just to see improvements in the future. All in all, the cracklins were definitely doing exactly what I needed them to do. Lol. They were hot and fresh and most importantly DELICIOUS!!!! read more

Finally got one in Baytown. Still new but give it time. Specialty Cajun Meats, Louisiana shelf staples, Frozen meats in bulk, hot deli and other menu items, breakfast and lunch quick grab and go stuff. Beautiful store. Little pricey but that's expected. Some of the staff members have zero customer service experience or they're just not happy in general. Who Knows? I'm there for the food not them. Go get some good Louisiana grub y'all. Amazing little spot for some quality Cajun cuisine. Prices are within reason for the portion size. Tried the boudin egg, bacon biscuit as a grab and geaux. Lots of food for the price point. Sadly the egg gets lost in all the flavors. Also ordered 10 sandwiches and various sides which were made in roughly 20-25min. Service was great a gentleman helped me to my vehicle with the order. Everything was very tasty and appreciated upon my meeting. However.... The only issue is there is no way to order online to make an order in advance. Wow! Great place! It's almost like a convenience store meets a Cajun carnicería. Good meat selection, they even have rabbit! Lots of cold Cajun items that you can prepare or just heat up in the microwave or oven such as pastas and stuffings or various meats already seasoned and or stuffed. Best chicken cracklin! The smoked boudin was very good, and they advised it's spicy but it really wasn't. The boudin wraps aka boudin egg rolls were bomb! I paired it with some sweet chili sauce I had at home and it was chef's kiss! The staff were friendly and ready to help and kept the line moving so there was no wait. I was excited to see a best stop closer to the east than Katy. This is my second visit and we love the smoked boudain and party links with PJ cheese. We also purchased today smoked pork and beef sausages with pepper jack cheese and also the beef pepper jack sausage. My husband also had the Sausage, egg and cheese biscuit for breakfast with a boudain ball. Those products were wonderful. The issue is with the crackling. They are over cooked and tough on your teeth. They were extra spicy and burnt with a 27.00 per pound price tag. Second visit and I've also experienced this at the Katy location once or twice before you'll opened in Baytown. Why make them so hard ? The fat and crisp is the king for the belly proportions. great place, dont have to drive to louisiana when im craving some great cajun food, this place is a cajun meat market, however, they also have a lot of hot food you can pick up on the go, big selection on your cajun seasoning, spices, and starters, when you need it, and these are all the authentic louisiana stuff, not the texas doctored up stuff trying to pass as cajun. only downside, is parking is limited and it get full and packed there. read more

I am a Cajun and initially I was very excited for them to come to Baytown. I will admit I prefer Billy's (multiple locations around acadiana) but I still tried best stop. I love Best stops pepperjack boudin balls! I also love their regular boudin (when it's available). Most times my husband orders original boudin he comes home with smoked boudin.. which is not the same. Their smoked boudin flavor stays in your mouth all day. Their red beans and rice are also good but has an overwhelming Smokey flavor. If it's for you then it's for you! I love that I can go in there and buy other Cajun products I can't find here at HEB! read more

I am going to try again. This is a cute little establishment, like a store or a meat market inside. They do have tables and chairs. They have sausage, boudin, cracklin's, stuffed chicken's, typical Cajun meats. The employees are very friendly. My rating is based on the cracklin's. I have been buying my cracklin's at Devilliers, and I could not wait for this place to open. I finally made it by there and ordered up some of the cracklin's. I definitely can't make them at home. They are $27.99 a pound, but that's ok for me because I usually only get about 1/4 of a pound to snack on. I had planned on doing a taste comparison with Devilliers and was hoping Best Stop would give them a run for their money. But based solely on the cracklin's, this ain't happening. The cracklin's were burnt - I could taste the char - I couldn't see the char, but I could definitely taste it. They were extremely dry, and hard. Definitely were not fresh. I didn't get there until around 3 pm on Sunday, July 13, so I guess I was getting the bottom of the barrel and they had been sitting out all day? I tried several pieces, and finally had to throw them out. This is just one experience, and I will try them again. And if they get better, maybe I'll do that taste comparison with Devilliers - but right now Devilliers has nothing to worry about. I guess Baytown still has a lot to learn about Cajun cooking. read more

Worst boudin and hog head cheese I've ever had. Over priced as well. The deli boudin was over cooked. Nearly burnt it stuck to the casing. The bag of pork skins I got were stale. Just all around not worth the money. I don't mind spending money on good food. But none of 3 items mentioned that I paid for was worth a 1/4 of what I paid for that slop. I'm Cajun and know good from bad. This is the worst so called Cajun food I've ever had ever. Gas station Cajun food is better than this place. I won't ever waste money in that place. I'll give it a year and it will be shut down. If this place gave out free samples nobody would buy anything after trying it. Not to mention the staff is about as friendy as a rock. So won't ever recommend this place to nobody. I'm also doing a facebook and Yt video review of this non Cajun food.
