Terrible service. The poor food quality has still not been addressed here and the staff are unapologetic. Overall this is a very poorly managed restaurant in a beautiful location. My peers and I have all tried this restaurant at various times hoping things have changed to no avail. The managment is indifferent and did not attempt to recognize we were unhappy with the food despite out explanation the ingredients were spoiled. We didn't want to get sick. We were tempted to contact the health department since so many orders at our table were old and disgusting. Quite frankly I would call this place trashy due to the entire staffs lack of training and poor attitude. read more

I come to the double tree 3x a month for work. Me and my hubby received free coupons for appetizers. We sat at the bar for about 10 mins waiting for this rude lady to greet us. She greeted all other guests within a couple mins. I am guessing my husbands tattoos and the way we looked determined rather or not who went first even though we were there before. She was rude when talking to us. Then made it seem as if we were lower class. Will never be back. She talked to us way different then any other guest. I will never be back. read more

This was one of the best meals I have EVER had. I will qualify my review by saying that we caught the last night of restaurant week, so ... we got a SMOKING deal. Butternut squash soup was THE BOMB. Seafood curry was fantastic. Creme brulee? Yes, please. We were a big group (12 of us), but there was none of the usual "fuck me, I have to take care of a big group" attitude from the server. I had a reservation and arrived promptly on time. When I got there, there was about two guests inside of the restaurant with about 10 staff members. I stood and waited to be helped for about 10 minutes before I approached the hostess. Once we got her attention, she was rude and not welcoming. When we were seated, the waiter barely said one word to us and was also not welcoming. Not only that, but the food choices are extremely limited. I was extremely dissatisfied with their service to the point where I left. I would recommend going and spending your money elsewhere. read more

For the amount you pay for the flatbread was not worth it. I've never seen such a small size flatbread for $17. It was probably a little bigger then the size of my hand and I'm only 5' 2". I'm giving this a 2 stars because the lady who took our order was super nice. We also ordered the garlic fries which was weird cuz that was cheaper but they gave us a large amount. Would have loved to have eaten here. Walked in for our reservation of 3 and waited. And waited. And waited. No service and just ignored. We leaned over to ask a server if there was someone coming to take our order and she just said yes they're coming. Still waited. Began to stand up to leave, two employees just walked by us. Looked very understaffed and unprofessional. People looked like they were waiting for a long time for their food to come. I was stuck in the hotel, so I stared at the menu for about a half hour in my room before deciding. The mains were overpriced or just plain weird, mostly both. They were trying to be new or special with the fancy and somewhat indecipherable menu options, but failed at both. Finally, I figured the "shareable" fish (mani) tacos couldn't be too big or offensive. I got two big fish tacos, piled to the brim with "stuff" and pink sauce. I asked for more napkins as I knew it would be a challenge. I believe the fish inside had promise as it was a generous portion of mahi , a nice moist fish. But too much "stuff" made it impossible to handle and taste just plain awful. Pink sauce was probably crema + adobo, looked disgusting and tasted terrible. Do they actually taste their food? With that I got a $9 too-sweet local beer and a $10 glass of room-wine on "tap" (box?). But add a star for the sweet and attentive service, and the space was beautiful. This place has potential if they completely revamp their menu and lower at least some of their prices so they aren't blatantly ripping off captive hotel guests the way some hotels do. If you have a car or the weather doesn't suck, there are better options nearby. read more

This was my first time eating here. We had an early dinner reservation for a party of 6 at 5:30 on a Saturday. For much of our dinner, we had the place to ourselves. The service was very good, and our meals were good as well. My partner ordered the veggie beet 'pastreuben'; he said he would definitely order it again. I ordered the brussel sprouts and a side of salmon. The salmon was perfectly cooked. I loved the light, airy dining room, with the deck outside and the beautiful views of the bay. My husband and I stopped in after visiting the marina for a early dinner on a Sunday. The place was not crowded. We ordered the Mahi taco starter which consisted of two very large tacos, a meal in itself. I had the squash plate for my meal, it was full of flavor. My husband ordered a flatbread, which he also said was full of flavor. Service was good although slow. Atmosphere was nice. Would return and recommend. read more

Very poor service. Food was ok but not good enough for the price. I can let that pass but the service I can't. They're not very accommodating to big groups so if you're celebrating for a big group this is not the right place. Your food is cold by the time it gets to you and if you're dining outdoor you can't find a staff member to help you. We had to go inside the restaurant to remind them that we're still waiting for our food. It would not have been so bad if they were friendly or apologetic for their shortcomings. I had a terrible experience eatting here. My sever was terrible. The food wasn't that good for the way it was priced. Clam chower was on the fishy side, my boyfriends chicken sandwich tasted like old fry oil.The seating was not very kid friendly. Over all this is a restaurant I will not be back to. read more

This review is an average of my 5 times eating in this restaurant during my stay at the hotel it's attached too. The food is Decent but not worth the prices. 2 of the 3 bar tenders were great! The third, an order woman with short hair had a horrible attitude and was unprofessional. Had it not been for me staying at the Hotel I would probably have not came back to this place. We came on NYE for 6pm reservations with an advertised live band. First, our family was seated in the bar area, far away from any other party that had reservations. When asked to move to the restaurant area with the band and festivities we were told there were "80 other people with reservations that asked for that area but maybe they wouldn't come" and they declined to move us. Tables in that area stayed empty for the duration of our reservation. Our waiter was shockingly abysmal. When asked what sodas they had he said "Pepsi........Shirley temple........" followed by silence. He didn't say another unprompted word to us the whole night, save for when he came back to the table 15 mins after our drink order was in to awkwardly say "we don't have your drink" followed by another strange silence. No explanation, no apology, no small talk. Food was fine, but appetizers came out with 2/5 meals followed by the other 3 meals 30 mins later. We weren't checked on once during the meal. The check had a $27 breakfast buffet added, a mistake with no acknowledgement or apology. It was an utterly depressing start to the new year. read more

Food was pretty good but the service was pretty bad. We had a large 15 person group on a relatively slow Friday night and never had a server introduce themself officially. He only came around once for a second drink order (I would have had 4 drinks over the 2 hours but sat with an empty drink most of the time). I worked in the restaurant industry for years so I'm usually forgiving but this was the most uninspired service I've had in a long time. I just got back from an event we arranged at the Berkeley Boathouse and couldn't be happier with how it turned out. From start to finish, the whole team made it so easy and everyone had a wonderful time. We reserved the deck which had amazing views, and even though it was a surprisingly chilly, windy day, they were so accommodating with the fire pits, heaters, and extra heat towers to keep everyone comfortable. The food was perfectly paced over 4 courses and I was shocked at how quickly they were able to get 22 orders out together. Drinks were amazing (especially the Kentucky Buck, Rising Sun, and Tamarind + Smoke). The corn soup, arugula salad, burrata, curry mussels, and salmon were all delicious but the real star of the show is the calamari. SO GOOD. The bocce ball court is a great extra when going with a group. I visited previously just for appetizers & drinks when choosing a location for the event, and was very impressed then as well, especially with the seating by the indoor fire pit. The whole staff - particularly Sadia and Pamela - is so efficient, kind, and extra accommodating. I truly couldn't recommend Berkeley Boathouse more! read more

I ordered the Salmon and asparagus. Salmon was ok, same with the asparagus. I tried my wife's Brussels sprouts and they were probably the best I've ever had. Whatever you guys use to season and dress the sprouts, you should do it to all your veggies. I would come back if there were more options for entrees. I came thinking that there was a seafood curry and also seared scallops but was disappointed with the limited amount of entrees. Food is ok, price is fair for the atmosphere. Stayed at hotel 3X in last year. Only stay here due to location. All three times I have eaten in the restaurant, multiple things go bad. Tonight it was that all the beer was warm. Guess their coolers were not working correctly. Said the same thing 4 months ago. Salad lettuce and vegetables were not cold and were wilted. Brought my food out, and never looked at what I was missing. Salt, pepper, ketchup and mustard. Pretty basic stuff for a burger and salad. Got my own salt and pepper from another table and had to wait for server to come back to ask for the ketchup and mustard. Then I waited again for someone other than server to bring it. read more

What a lovely gem of a place to enjoy great outdoor space, amazing and wonderful customer service and yummy food. The staff was so attentive and super helpful. It was the first cold night in a very long time but with the heat lamps, it was cozy. Wow. This place was just awful. Actually beyond awful and if I could give it a negative 5 I would. The food was inedible and seriously dangerous. We chose this place because you would think a " boat house" would have seafood. WRONG! The chicken sandwich was spoiled and the soup was from a can. The Brussels sprouts came to the plate with so much oil that there was 1/2 " of thick sludge at the bottom of the bowl. The lemons that came with the diet soda were old and spoiled with mold. There was zero quality control here !! To add insult to injury the heaters were not working so they had to give us blankets from the hotel to keep warm. We were served and left in 20 minutes. I didn't say a word because it was a birthday dinner but I will tell you that we stopped for pizza on the way hole because we were hungry. Save your money you can get a fish sandwich at McDonald that is better !! read more

I organized a group of 30 for a Sunday lunch. Was quite surprised at the quality of the food. Had an abbreviated menu due to the size of the group but it was worth it to avoid confusion. Staff was pretty accommodating and very nice. There was a bit of a wait at the start of the meal but then everything came out in a timely manner. Was nice to be seated in a separate area but still with a great marina view. Will definitely recommend the restaurant and will return. Portions were huge! read more
