I've always liked this chain and usually go to the Belmont location, so maybe my expectations were too high. Ordered through the app and showed up for pickup, but couldn't get anyone's attention for about 15 minutes because nobody was at the counter. If I hadn't already paid, I probably would have left. Food came out after the estimated pickup time and was overcooked. Not terrible, but definitely not the quality I'm used to from this chain. On the plus side, there's plenty of seating and I like the open-front setup with outdoor seating as well. Parking is rough though, with only a few dedicated spots so you'll likely be hunting for street parking. read more

This place is OWNED BY JAKE PAUL Yes that Jake Paul! I came here to see the World Cup kickoff after randomly seeing an ig ad that they had specials during World Cup. Was looking at the menu which touted Jake Paul sauce on an appetizer then did some digging found out the place is owned by the dark lord himself. Why and how does he own a rando Biergarten in Berkeley you might ask? NO IDEA But it's worth saying altho the staff was sweet and accommodating this place offers up the most completely vapid corporate experience one can have in Berkeley! I will never go here again and I suggest you don't either unless you want to support Jake Paul and have a completely empty experience. read more

I randomly came to watch a few of the world cup games and I'm so glad I did! They had a lot of really good beer and cocktail selection as well as indoor and a small outdoor patio as well. We came during happy hour and it did get pretty packed but the food still came out pretty quick. We ordered some tater tots, chicken wings, chicken tenders, and some sliders. Everything we ordered was really good but I think my favorite was the chicken wings, they were so well seasoned and crispy. The chicken tenders were also really good -- well seasoned and super tender. I wasnt the biggest fan of the sliders but only because I'm not the biggest fan or Hawaiian roles but friends I went with loved the sliders because of this so it just comes down to personal preference. Came to watch the France vs Spain game with a couple of friends. The tv placement is horrible for the tables. Ordered a chicken sandwich, which had a super stale fried onion. The chicken itself had just come out of the frier, but all I could taste was salt. The cashier was the only server and could tell he had a lot on his plate. I ordered takeout from Dog Haus Biergarten and had a good experience overall. For a chain, the food was better than expected. I tried the Ringer, and the Hawaiian roll bun really stood out. It adds a slightly sweet contrast that works well with the rest of the flavors. The tater tots were crisp and really good, exactly what you want on the side. Since this was takeout, I did not try any of the beer, but the service was spot on and everything was handled smoothly. I will definitely be going back to try some of the beers on tap. read more

Stopped by for their free tots/fries promo, which was cool, but the service was a bit slow since there was only 1 person working the front. Also couldn't use the kiosk for the deal, so I had to order in person. The staff member was really nice and helpful though, so no complaints there. One thing I thought was interesting was how they give you a QR code and you still have to pay through Snackpass even if you order at the counter. I got the Sooo Cali Haus Dog, and it was pretty good. Loved the brioche bun and the fresh avocado. The sauce had a nice flavor too. The hot dog itself could've used a bit more seasoning. It wasn't dry but not super juicy either. The tots were solid. Tons of ads on social media for their Wednesday night trivia but when we arrived about 15 minutes before (6:45) the place was packed. This isn't a problem as I'm happy that business is going well for them. We thought we'd try to get a beer but no one was working the counter. We really couldn't tell who was part of the staff and not sure if the trivia hosts are employees or an outside company. Mostly it all seemed unorganized and dismissive. No apology, no sorry we don't have any more tables for the largely empty outside seating, not even a greeting or acknowledgment. read more

The setting is a nice design, lots of light and fresh air. Full bar and a decent choice of beers. A couple free parking spaces helps out. The draw back is 12.99 for a vegan Brat. Pretty pricey for a small portion. It's an order at the counter and bring food to you type of place. The server was very nice. I wanted to give more stars but feel like the high prices are greedy. There were very few customers which leads me to think that if they were more reasonably priced, they might have more people. Instead, I get the impression that they're trying to take as much as they can from a very small amount of customers. Also only taking $20 bills is ridiculous when you consider the menu prices. When dining in, you can order at the kiosk or by QR code at the tables. If picking up, you also have the option of ordering by app. We had the Reservoir Hog Sausage and Sooo Cali Dog (both on King's Hawaiian Rolls) and Chili Cheese Tots. Everything was delicious. The chili was great, with a touch of heat, and no beans, just the way I like it. The toppings on the hot dog and sausage didn't overpower the meat and added a lot of flavor. I especially liked the sauce on the Cali dog. The tots were crisp and the cheese, chili, and scallions were perfect on top. We ordered fountain drinks, but there are plenty of alcoholic beverages to choose from. We received friendly and helpful service! There's usually plenty of street parking, but I appreciate that this has its own little parking lot. read more

Although I miss the restaurant Stella Nonna in Berkeley, I was pretty excited to try the restaurant that moved into their old location - Dog Haus Biergarten. Specializing in elevated hot dogs, sausages, chicken, burgers/sliders, sides, and more, there's a little something for everyone here. I love the fun & creativity they have with a menu of possibilities that are a bit different than just ketchup or mustard. We tried a corn dog (made with a house made root beer batter), the SoooCali dog (avocado, tomato, crispy onions, spicy basil aioli, arugula), the Chili the Kid dog (white American cheese, Haus chili, crispy onions, chipotle aioli), and a side of onion rings & the Haus slaw. Everything was super flavorful, crispy, and comforting. They also have breakfast options (I heard their breakfast burritos are bomb), a kid's menu, vegan/vegetarian options, ice cream, and a pretty stellar craft beer (a lot of local brands) and cocktail menu. The restaurant itself has an open air concept, which is pretty cool. Feels like someone opened their garage to a beautiful hidden restaurant behind it. Pi've seen the Dog Haus in Fremont but never gave them a try. I was looking for a place to watch the game that had enough seating for 7 ppl. The Dog Haus has a lot of seating but not too many big tables. The space inside is a little industrial with a makeshift outdoor area with seating. As for the food, I got the Downtown dog and chili fries. They both were good with a lot of toppings. But the bun was a sweet roll like a Hawaiian rolll so it fell apart easily and had to eat with a fork. Reasonably priced They have TVs everywhere to catch a game. Order at the counter and food will be brought to your table. They definitely need to hire more people up front as there is only one person handling orders and delivering food. So we went on a Sunday afternoon. It was pretty empty. We didn't realize we had to order from a Kiosk so we were waiting for a waiter beforehand. After we ordered, the food came out pretty quickly. My husband got a burger. I got a hotdog. We also got onion rings. The food was good. They have a small section where they have some things for kids to do/play with which I thought was nice. The place is light and airy, but one thing that caught us off guard was there was a bit of an off smell which was confusing because it was very open, airflow was able to get in very easily. The tater tots seemed to be cooked in oil that needed to be changed. They were also overcooked. The dog was also kind of drab. I got the fonz and it barely had any pastrami and cheese. You get free mustard, mayo and ketchup packets. I'd suggest stocking up on those to add to your primaries for flavor. At least that's my suggestion based on this experience. read more

It's hard to compare since it was almost empty this second time (7:30 on a Saturday!) so wait times were no problem, but they really didn't have much else to do. Service was fine. The food was good. I liked the Sooo Veggie sausage. We ordered two sides- the onion rings and slaw were both really good. The Chili the Kid was very tasty. My husband said his sausage wasn't hot, though acceptable enough to eat. Not sure why this continues to be an issue (see last review). It's a nice hangout spot with a nice beer and drink selection. Outdoors is always the best when it is nice and warm. I enjoyed the food however, we found it disappointing that the bread fell apart relatively quick. They use something similar to brioche or Hawaiian bread. It's good, but the bread falls apart. Best was pairing it with a beer. We were unable to find utensils and had to ask up front. I feel like they should provide this since the bread falls apart and you find eating with your fingers. read more

We ordered online and took the food back to our hotel to enjoy. My wife had wings and I had a hamburger. The wings were heavily sauced and my wife said she would have preferred less sauce to not be overwhelmed. She said the quality was good however. I thought the burger was delicious. Surprisingly, it traveled to the hotel well. I ordered sweet potato fries but enjoyed so much of the burger I was too full to enjoy the fries. The few I tried were good but definitely would have been better before traveling to the hotel. I would try them again and focus on eating there and not getting it to go. read more

I'm always a little concerned when a place has this many beers on tap as I'd imagine they don't get turned over very frequently and I know from experience what a pain cleaning the beer lines can be. We tried a burger and a corn dog. Both were fine. I'm not a big fan of Hawaiian rolls for burger buns as it's a little too much bread for the meat ratio, but the flavors were good. I'll be back for the price point and the amount of TVs. It should be a solid spot to watch a game. read more

This review is all about Chris, the bartender exordinare. Not only did he handle all the drinks and orders, he was incredibly gracious to me and my special needs brother tonight. He was patient and still managed to handle a pretty full house all by himself. Everything was perfect. The chili cheese dog was fantastic. The cocktails were on point. He even got us extra ketchup and went out of his way to make sure we had all that we needed. We need more Chris in this world, seriously. Thanks for making our whole party feel so welcomed. We've had several fundraisers there for John Muir Elementary School. They've handled it well, though on occasion it felt as though they were slightly understaffed and underprepared for the crowd. Walked in on a Thursday about noon. Never been to a Dog Haus before so I walked in and took a seat at the bar as I wanted to start with a beer. The gentleman working behind the bar was having a chat with a beer vendor that was there and i sat, and waited, and waited, and waited. Finally after about 10 minutes, just as i was getting ready to walk out, the guy finally greeted me and asked if i wanted a beer. I wouldn't have minded the wait if they were busy, but it was literally me, the beer vendor, and one other guy, already eating, there, so the guy working just leaned on the counter talking instead of helping me. That aside, the interior is very nice with plenty of seating inside and out. Large beer menu and the lady working the register and running the food was kind, speedy and she made the business look good as opposed to the guy at the bar. I ordered the oldtown dog and it was pretty dang tasty. Good all beef dog, decent snap, toasted kings Hawaiian rolls for the bun and topped with smoked bacon, jalapenos, caramelized onions, chipotle aioli and cotija cheese. It came out picture perfect and gets about an 8.8 out of 10 on my hotdog scale (I am currently going around all the bay area, Sacramento area hotdog places hence the separate score for the dog). read more

Friends of ours told us about this place so we went to check it out. It wasn't that busy so it was easy to get in. The white guy behind the bar was not so friendly during our stay. The place looked really good from all the renovations. We ordered a couple beers which tasted pretty good. They have a good amount of beers on tap which is good. We didn't try any fancy cocktails but the names looked really yummy. We ordered the chili cheese tots but got chili cheese fries. They were really good. We also ordered the Cowboy hot dog and the Hangover cheeseburger. The hot dog had great flavor, tender, juicy, the condiments for it was nice. The cheeseburger was cooked perfect, nice flavor, the rolls are different but a good change. Even though the service from the guy was just ok, I'd go back there again. read more

I was looking for breakfast while in town and found this place. Their burritos are amazing. I had the impossible cali and Miguel was nice enough to give me a sample of the sauces they apparently make their from scratch. My favorite is the secret sauce and the chipotle Aioli.
