This place was formerly Stella Nonna. The restaurant is hard to see because the store front is offset from the street and there's no signage on the sidewalk. I think this place is a chain but the entrance and decor was nice with many many beer choices and food choices as well. There was a lot of room especially since there weren't many people there. You can order at a table, on a screen or with a cashier. My sister ordered a smash burger, my friend ordered a cheeseburger with bacon, I had the grilled chicken sandwich. We also had the onion rings and fries which were very tasty. They were all well prepared and delicious. There's an outdoor patio area if you prefer to eat outside. It's very casual and comfortable. I would recommend giving it a try!

I randomly came to watch a few of the world cup games and I'm so glad I did! They had a lot of really good beer and cocktail selection as well as indoor and a small outdoor patio as well. We came during happy hour and it did get pretty packed but the food still came out pretty quick. We ordered some tater tots, chicken wings, chicken tenders, and some sliders. Everything we ordered was really good but I think my favorite was the chicken wings, they were so well seasoned and crispy. The chicken tenders were also really good -- well seasoned and super tender. I wasnt the biggest fan of the sliders but only because I'm not the biggest fan or Hawaiian roles but friends I went with loved the sliders because of this so it just comes down to personal preference. Ambiance is also nice, definitely a great place to get together, catch up, and have some yummy drinks and food!

Came to watch the France vs Spain game with a couple of friends. The tv placement is horrible for the tables. Ordered a chicken sandwich, which had a super stale fried onion. The chicken itself had just come out of the frier, but all I could taste was salt. The cashier was the only server and could tell he had a lot on his plate. Regardless he was kind and helpful, which was unfortunately the only positive of this outing.

I ordered takeout from Dog Haus Biergarten and had a good experience overall. For a chain, the food was better than expected. I tried the Ringer, and the Hawaiian roll bun really stood out. It adds a slightly sweet contrast that works well with the rest of the flavors. The tater tots were crisp and really good, exactly what you want on the side. Since this was takeout, I did not try any of the beer, but the service was spot on and everything was handled smoothly. I will definitely be going back to try some of the beers on tap.

3.5 stars $13.77 for the Reservoir Hog. Was pretty good. Just not sure eating a fancy hot dog is truly worth the price though. The big draw has to be the weekend crowd, the craft beer, and the multitude of big screens. Good beers though.

Winner of the 1.21.26 trivia night! I'd like to thank my tiny but mighty team of 4 for this award. It was well deserved. We played really well together! I love our team name (: Also the happy hour was great! Shout out to the solo server who got us everything we needed from loaded tots to fruity ciders. Will be back with more friends!

Food was great! No complaints. There were only 4 people when we went and they had a tiny parking lot that fits 4 cars and 1 handicapped. They allow dogs inside and they have plenty of outdoor seating as well. Staff was very friendly and kind. If you need to use the restroom the staff needs to put the code in for you.

Stopped by for their free tots/fries promo, which was cool, but the service was a bit slow since there was only 1 person working the front. Also couldn't use the kiosk for the deal, so I had to order in person. The staff member was really nice and helpful though, so no complaints there. One thing I thought was interesting was how they give you a QR code and you still have to pay through Snackpass even if you order at the counter. I got the Sooo Cali Haus Dog, and it was pretty good. Loved the brioche bun and the fresh avocado. The sauce had a nice flavor too. The hot dog itself could've used a bit more seasoning. It wasn't dry but not super juicy either. The tots were solid. Crunchy and well-portioned (especially for being free).

Dog Haus is providing to-go and delivery app service right now, but will soon open for indoor dining. In fact, they may have done so by the time you read this. Call or check their Instagram. When dining in, you can order at the kiosk or by QR code at the tables. If picking up, you also have the option of ordering by app. We had the Reservoir Hog Sausage and Sooo Cali Dog (both on King's Hawaiian Rolls) and Chili Cheese Tots. Everything was delicious. The chili was great, with a touch of heat, and no beans, just the way I like it. The toppings on the hot dog and sausage didn't overpower the meat and added a lot of flavor. I especially liked the sauce on the Cali dog. The tots were crisp and the cheese, chili, and scallions were perfect on top. We ordered fountain drinks, but there are plenty of alcoholic beverages to choose from. We received friendly and helpful service! There's usually plenty of street parking, but I appreciate that this has its own little parking lot.

Both the cocktails and snacks came timely, and we enjoyed conversation and community chatting with other locals/tourists visiting Berkeley for a short time. The vibes are right in Tipsea and I dig the nautical ambiance/theme/play on words. Worthy of a stop through; street parking on Shattuck/paid garages nearby, but ride-share sometimes easiest for these locations. That said I'm occasionally inspired to go check out the local watering holes for a good pour, some food if possible, and just to be in the presence of the human pulsation. Walking into Tallboy on a Thursday afternoon was a bit like Nirvana for me. There is a comforting vibe of neighborhood and after work people shedding responsibility and "toe the lineness" and transitioning to pondering true meaning and the other side of the elliptical bend over nicely crafted cocktails and HOTDOGS! I am a hotdog fiend, and Tallboy has a very creative range on the menu that does not disappoint. From a basic onions/mustard, an Elote Dog, an a Coney Islandesque (it has chili) version. Some folk go to bar and line up shots (or craft cocktails). At Tallboy you can do that AND line up their hotdogs which I intend on doing in the very near future. The pleasantries don't stop at the food (there are other delicious snack items on their menu to choose from too). Tallboy has a fully stocked bar, and the menu has a list of really unique and delicious signature craft cocktails. I'm not a Mezcal drinker, but I ended up dubiously ordering their Guava Martini which to my smokey surprise is made with Mezcal. I stayed with the smokey fruitiness of this Guava Martini as it was my mistake that I did not read in the description it is made with Mezcal, and ended up chasing it with their Tamarindo Cocktail which also has Mezcal. To those who really enjoy Mezcal the Tallboy Guava Martini and the Tamarindo Cocktail do not disappoint. Both have that deep Smokey Mezcal essence, but cut with the fruit sweetness. I personally think the Tamarindo balances well with the Mezcal. The Guava Martini the Mezcal comes through stronger, but both are just the tonic to release any existential pinging going on in your head. If you really want to kick in the hyperdrive pair either of these with an Elote Dog. I had their Deli Dog which sufficed. I think the Deli Dog would pair better with their standard Martini, but hey let's us not bring that snobbiness into Tallboy. Tallboy has an element of cloak and dagger or secret treehouse club about it. What I mean here is there is no signage on the outside (please keep it that way!). When you walk past all you see is this quaint beigeish/yellow brick façade of an establishment which begs you to press your face to the glass and scan what in the blazes is going on in here! Before you know it you are caught in the Tallboy tractor beam, and you find yourself sitting at the bar with some kind of craft drank and hotdog pondering the space and the very nice old fashioned wainscoting painted a shade of green circa 1930 (my description of winning in life). The cadre of bartenders are all really pleasant folk, very attentive (checking in with you to see if you need another round, hotdog, or snack), have tight shaker skills, and they know their craft and the menu. Tallboy also has SLUSHIES, and I did not do a deep dive on them, but I'm positive they may/do put spirits in them; or not. Also I noticed other patrons with a beautiful enticing thing that looked like an ice cream sundae milkshake hybrid (it had what looked like whipped cream on top) in on old timey soda fountain ice cream goblet. This could be a craft cocktail they make with the slushie, but major props for serving it in that goblet. I will investigate on my next visit which I intend to be very soon. Tallboy is the kind of bar establishment I could easily adopt as my after work living room for a couple of hours everyday.

I'm vegetarian so was so excited to try the dogs - which are vegan. And I may be biased but you cannot tell that you're missing out on anything with all the flavor packed combos. The bun was fluffy and soft and you have multiple fun themed options to choose from. My partner and I ended up getting the deli dog and truffle meltdown. Deli was perfect - classic mix of spice and crunch with the spicy brown mustard and giardiniera peppers. And the truffle meltdown was so savory and decadent - totally different flavor profiles from each dog! We were only going to grab one drink but the menu was so inventive we ended up getting two. I ordered the banana hammock (which comes with a fire show) and espresso martini slushee which was is up there with the frozen Irish coffees I've had in New Orleans. There are some negative reviews here about rude, more accurately, unresponsive bartenders, and I don't think they get what this place is all about. If you want a chatty, friendly bartender, go to an Irish pub. This place is all about creating unique concoctions in volume. Having said that, I'll tell you a story. In March 2019, I was with a chatty bartender here, since it was a quiet night. I was looking at the vast array of bottles, and noticed something that said "Buffalo Trace" but looked different from their usual bottle. I asked her what it was, and she didn't know. It had about three fingers left at the bottom, so she looked at me mischievously and said, "wanna finish it with me?" So we did. Turns out, that 375 ml bottle was worth about $300. It was one of their experimental batches, made with oats in 2002. I found a bottle online in England and got it shipped here. Best whiskey I've ever had.

We heard this building has been many different iterations over the years, but happy to have found this spot in Berkeley for a fun happy hour with friends. We enjoyed the wine flight (choice of 4 wines), each with a nice pour, and shared the spinach dip with chips. We also enjoyed an espresso martini to cap off the evening. The staff were super friendly, and the lounge was filled with what seemed like regulars. The lounge couches were super comfy and it was an overall very relaxing yet intimate experience. I would definitely come back again with a group, or even stop by for a date night. Parking is a bit tough in this area, but there is street parking (if lucky enough to find it) and garages nearby.
