Very poor, overpriced food. Chicken strips were so dry I could not swallow without water. Fries were also soggy and stale.

Allowed me to book an OpenTable reservation but the place was closed for the day for a private party. Not cool and not good management.

$18 for a plastic cup with house Cabernet. I complained then the apparent floor manager told me he didn't work there then hid in the back.

The lobster entree was a little overcooked and the chocolate cake dessert was a little disappointing but overall, not bad. The kids menu had more choices than usual and the kids we brought loved the handmade pasta with marinara as well as the ice cream. We took the ferry over from White Elephant where we were staying, which can be booked with the hotel front desk or by calling the restaurant. You can order drinks on the ferry (they don't allow kids). They looked fully booked on resy but when we called, they had plenty of availability and were able to get a same day reservation for a party of 6. They also have a shuttle which takes 25 min that takes you back to white elephant every hour on the half hour (and the ferry which takes 50 min every hour on the hour). Overall, we had a great experience here!

Read on, but mainly, a great thing to check off the ACK list if you have time (and more conveniently if you're headed to Great Point). The boat ride was lovely and it's all worth it for that alone, but food is pretty dismal and it's expensive. Very torn here. If you have time (read more than a week), definitely check this spot out if you're looking to get away from the crowds. It's truly unique. Topper's is the restaurant part of the Wauwinet Hotel, headed out to Great Point, you are so far away from it all. To be 30 miles out to sea, and on part of the island so removed from downtown, what an incredible thing. It's approachable, because anyone can dine there, yet feels so exclusive. I was probably dining next to a billionaire and had no clue. You can drive from town about 20 minutes or take the 45 minute or so boat from Children's Beach/White Elephant ($30 round trip). We did the boat ride, and when doing so, they do make you do the 3 course tasting meal (at least for dinner). But that boat ride is so great: being on the ocean, seeing the incredible houses on the cliffs, and drinks available to purchase, to boot! And that, my friends, is where we come to the disappointing part of the experience. The three course meal was expensive solely because it was underwhelming. Price wise, $100+ per person, which pricewise doesn't sound terrible, but the food and portions were so underwhelming. Also just the flow was off. It lasted less than an hour, but the boat home was scheduled to leave 2 hours after arrival. So, you could enjoy the grounds and views, but we ended up going for a walk down the dirt road and meandering around the small hotel lobby, but it was kind of just a weird experience. The food: I ended up getting most of the dishes that had an extra cost, which made the serving size and price ratio even more dismal. The food was average, at best, and again tiny portions. So unmemorable, I can't even remember what we had. Lobster? To note: I did see people not eating the 3 course meal, and the burger and lobster roll I spied looked solid. I walked around the hotel grounds and it's definitely a super interesting getaway, so far from everything. The bar area/room is tiny but Nantucket charming. It's hard not to talk to the person sitting next to you since it's so intimate, which I love, since meeting new people is a beautiful thing. Overall, a dreamy, relaxing and unique location. I'm happy to have tried the boat and the whole excursion, but next time (in about 5 years or so) would schlep up in a car (do they have a shuttle?) and enjoy a la carte.

Upstairs there a barroom and a couple of dining rooms. I would not imagine they could have so much seating. I had the octopus and pot belly. The octopus was tender. And lastly, 3) the food. While meals historically have been a mixed bag, the food overall is a sure bet. Additionally, I love that the Oran Mor is more of an older crowd. I'm in my hanging with a 65 year old+ chic granny more than a 20 something year old influencer era. Ok, some more details. My batched cocktail off the menu was great - the cherry rickey. I love all things cherry and this hit home with a perfect mix of cherry and boozy flavors. We went with the snail app, the special crab pasta and the potato crusted fish. The crab pasta was solid, with the pasta being cooked perfectly. A tad bland, but that could just be the dish was more focused on that crab vs heavy seasoning. The fish was delicious, but disappointment came in with the sides. Sides are usually my favorite part of any dish, and the eggplant was burnt and ultimately kind of inedible and the veggie medley or whatever it was, was indeed a bit sad and underwhelming. My husband and I both were like womp womp. Even the additionally ordered creamed spinach was more of a creamy spinach soup vs spinach which we also would not order again. No dessert because Juice Bar be like around the corner. :) Service was great. We have been seated in the dining room and by the bar, and I appreciate both vibes. Overall, solid. Nantucket dining can be hit or miss with rezzies hard to find, so if Oran Mor is a possibility, I don't think you'll be disappointed (maybe just with the sides!).

Just a nice, artisan dish akin to something you'd get in New Bedford or Fall River. Fantastic. 5-Stars. Now their lobster roll. The volume of finely shredded lobster meat, that was also warm in that hot dog roll was smaller than the Jimmy Dean link. 0-Stars. My recommendations for a "good" lobster roll is to go anywhere else on island. I'd recommend Sayle's Seafood, The Nantucket Lobster Trap or Stubby's. In fact, I'd just stay clear of the Club Car altogether, it is one of those places for the self-focused New York / Miami new [vulgar] money jet-set that treat the island like their play-thing... you know, you see their empty beer cans in the morning around town. The service is always on point (Bridget always takes care of us--she's genuinely so nice), and the food never misses: the lobster Cobb salad is fresh, loaded, and perfectly balanced, and the croque madame is pure comfort (savory, cheesy, and even better with the egg). And don't sleep on dinner, Club Car turns it up even more, and their steak frites is the best!

We had tea in the common room in the afternoon; able to chat with other visitors - relaxing and quite pleasant. The restaurant was to die for. We made our reservation on Resy a week before. Everything was just incredible, starting with a mussel appetizer, cod and polenta/spinach dish, to the chocolate soufflé. The next morning we crossed the street to attend services at Saint Paul's Episcopal. Came back for a quick breakfast down stairs; the coffee was top-shelf, eggs perfectly made, and fresh fruit - can't beat any of that. We left our bag at the Inn, and went in town to shop, sip coffee, and take it all in. Picked up our bag and dropped it off at the Hyline building. Had lunch with local friends at Brant Point. The day, hotel, dinner, church, and lunch was all serendipitous. No negatives. Ship's Inn is one of the absolute best and well known inn and restaurant on the island.
