I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately the experience was disappointing from start to finish. When my mom and I walked in, the employee at the counter barely greeted us and seemed completely uninterested in helping. We were basically told to "read the menu on the wall" with no real customer service at all. One of the biggest issues was that beef ribs were unavailable for HOURS even though the restaurant was already open for business. Maybe that's poor planning, maybe not, but it definitely wasn't a good first impression. Then the food itself was a problem. The meat was being pulled from a warming container wrapped in plastic wrap, which honestly raised concerns for me immediately. The so called "hot link" tasted more like a basic hot dog than smoked sausage. The ribs were dry, flavorless, and had an odd aftertaste. The brisket was also dry and fell apart in a strange texture that didn't seem fresh or properly prepared. To be fair, the coleslaw tasted fresh and the fried okra was actually good. But the fries were cold, hard, and tasted like they'd been sitting around for a very long time or left over from the day before since the restaurant had just opened. Another issue: my mom and I paid separately in CASH, but somehow both of our receipts included a credit card processing fee. The cashier had initially combined our orders because she assumed I was paying for everything, even though I never said that. After splitting the tickets, the charges still weren't corrected. That's unacceptable. Also, charging extra for tiny containers of barbecue sauce at a barbecue restaurant is wild to me. BBQ sauce should not feel like an add-on luxury at a place that specializes in barbecue. Overall, nothing about the food tasted authentic or Southern-style to us, and the customer service only made the experience worse. We won't be returning. This place is decent. It's pretty similar to the old Dickey's, but without the big yellow cups. The corn, baked beans, and macaroni are pretty decent sides. The pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw topper and sweet or original sauce is pretty decent. The potato casserole was probably the biggest disappointment. Casserole is a generous term. It tastes like underwhelming mashed potatoes. Some sour cream and bacon could go a long way towards improving the dish. We go here when we want BBQ in town, since it's what we've got. But Biscuit's and Bounty Hunter's (both in Napa now) are definitely the better options if you're willing to go a little ways and spend a little more for really good BBQ. read more

Being that I'm from Texas, I know good bbq and unfortunately, this is not it. For $21 the portion is decent but it felt like I was eating cut up hotdogs and not actual bbq sausage. The potato's in the potato salad were so hard I couldn't even finish it and I asked if the coleslaw was sweet, he said yes and it actually tastes like nothing. The flavor was okay but like... remove some of the fat? add more actual meat to a plate? I did not even have one slice of meat that was more than 50% meat. I've actually never been served brisket with that much fat. I'm still mind blown. They gave a bread roll but the bottom part of it tasted super chemically.. The mac was fine- not spectacular. I thought I would try them again because anyone can have an off day, I arrived at 11am today (Tuesday) to order a couple of Brisket sandwiches and a half a dozen Spareribs, I was told the Ribs won't be ready for 3-4 more hours... That makes no sense to me... It's a BBQ joint. Ehhh. My husband wanted bbq. I warned him that unfortunately this was probably not going to "hit the spot". I believe it's the old Dick's bbq. So the inside is attractive and clean. I was waiting for a pre ordered pickup. After a short wait the gentleman asked if I was a pick up , I answered yes and then he began to prep. He called me to the register to pay. $33 and some change. I thought, well you didn't ask my name when I came in and told you pick up maybe he made the wrong order. So I asked and he confirmed the name , and at the same time I'm thinking, of course it's $33 and MY order everything is so expensive! Got home and gave it to hubby. The photos are of the sides are after we ate. They were so basic and familiar like Dick's. The brisket was fatty and if that's your thing then you would love it. It was flavorful, Salty for sure, but fatty. The ribs were dry smoked so not bad just basic. Nothing over the top. Nothing special. Definitely not worth the price. I can get over paying money on food fairly quickly when it's so good it has me distracted. But when it's bad , mediocre, nothing out of the ordinary and basic I get disappointed. On my first visit I ordered the brisket--very tender, green beans--not good (no flavor) to my palate and potato salad--not good (too tangy and no flavor) to my palate. Maybe I had a head cold and had reduced taste capability at the time of my visit...just KIDDING/JOKING about the head cold! There are three choices of BBQ sauces--I requested the regular (not the sweet or spicy). It was not good at all. I can't explain the taste or suggest a similarity to compare but I never tasted anything like it before as far as BBQ sauce. It distorted the taste of the brisket which by itself was tender and juicy. My best attempt to describe it is it resembles a thick, textured overly tangy tomato paste on steroids. It was not good to my palate. Ahhh, ok, it reminds me of a bad shrimp cocktail dipping sauce! Yes, that is what their original/regular BBQ sauce tastes like to my palate. Yuck... The service was good very friendly although not many customers--maybe because of the day and time--Thursday around 1:50 p.m. The ambiance is relaxing Maybe I'll return again and order two-three different items with there other two choices of BBQ sauce just to try. I will be sure to taste before putting on the meat I order. I will most definitely have my favorite store bought BBQ sauce on standby I'll give it a rating of 2 stars only because of the tenderness of the brisket. The spicy sausage was good but could've been cooked longer as the skin would not break when eating.. the highlight for the entire meal was the spicy bbq sauce. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed my last visit when I ordered the last beef rib and a brisket plate. It was a to go order and I wasn't able to eat the brisket. This was my first time ordering here since Dick's BBQ place close down. The main reason why I wanted to order from here is because I wanted to taste their mac & cheese. I ordered me and my son the same thing which was brisket, hot links, baked beans, and mac & cheese. So when I first opened it, I noticed that the mac & cheese did not look anything like advertise on their Doordash site. When I finally tasted the mac & cheese, it had no flavor no seasoning. I'm not even sure what type of cheese they used so I was highly disappointed and felt like money was wasted. The brisket was fatty and extra salty. The only thing good about the entire order was the baked beans and the hot links. They also threw in a slice of bread, half butter, which was not even toasted. The staff are super nice when I come in to do my pick ups. I have tried the chicken tenders and they were fresh and had good texture. I got the hot bbq sauce which was tasty. I also tried the brisket and it was very tender. The beans could have had a little more flavor but I put some bbq sauce in there and it helped out. The meal included a roll which was fluffy and crispy. Overall I will be trying out more of their menu because so far it's all been good and decently priced. read more
