Wow. Can I just say what a complete ass kicker this was?! I'm a serial studio goer and I tried everything from boxing to yoga to cross fit but this definitely goes and gets deep into your muscles. And the teachers are super great and hands on. Kudos to Andrea. She really tries to get to know everyone and help with our form. Definitely going to try this again. read more

BAR Method Long Beach is an incredible Studio! I visit the area several times a year and I always look forward to taking BAR at this studio. The studio is clean & bright and most of all the owners( who teach as well), teachers, & staff make you feel so welcome. All of the gals that take class seem to be so delighted to be there. If you are wondering if you should take a class there do it! You will be happy you did. I'll be back every time I am in town. See you soon!! read more

I've been taking classes here since 2012 and love it. Bar Method has taught me to realize working on form and posture, stretching and strengthening all muscles is so important for a healthy lifestyle. The staff at Bar Method Long Beach is also another thing that keeps me coming back! The owner Jo runs a wonderful facility that is clean and full of friendly, welcoming and hard working individuals who bring out the best in you!! Thank you Bar Method LB for 7 years of health, fitness, smiles and painful moments of "shaking" to keep me fit!! read more

Bar Method in Long Beach is the best thing I have ever done for myself and my back! I get a great workout and my muscles feel sore afterward, but never my joints or my back. I am a member in New York and love the bar method so much I really wanted to continue my workouts while on vacation. So I purchased a 5 class package. The instructors are amazing! The front desk employees are friendly and knowledgeable. It was nice to see that the classes where challenging and each instructor took the time to adjust the members accordingly. So happy I have a place to workout at when I come to visit Hermosa Beach! read more

Amazing class! Clean and private facility. A huge plus, friendly staff and inspiring trainers.

I absolutely love this place!! made a huge difference in my health and well-being. I was addicted after a month and had to go at least 4 times a week or i would miss it too much. i love the people and it's a great work out after an injury. highly recommend. read more

I was always intimidated at Pure Barre. It's so crowded, the instructor goes so fast and there's no encouragement. It almost felt cold. I haven't been to any other Bar Method studio but this LB studio is something special. They are friendly, motivating and give you individual attention when you need it. They know everyone's name. I'm so thrilled with the results I've seen from coming here regularly the past few months. I'm happier with my body now than I've ever been in my life and I have 2 small kids. I never thought I'd feel toned again after those babies! It's worth a try if you haven't been. read more

I have been coming here since Jan 2015 and I have never been able to stick with a workout routine this long in my life and I'm still motivated to keep going. The teachers are awesome!! They are super helpful and motivating. My husband has been loving the results I have been getting!! I am stronger, leaner, and more flexible than I have ever been. I defiantly would recommend trying bar method, you won't regret it!! read more

Bar Method is fun, challenging and rewarding. Although the classes aren't easy by any means, the format perfectly combines physical exertion with stretching and results in a great workout! Instructors here do a fantastic job of providing encouragement and personal attention to everyone in class. The studio is very clean and well-organized. Lockers are located in both the front and back of the studio, workout towels are provided and there are shower facilities available (which you don't normally see in smaller studios). read more

This review is long overdue! I started my Bar membership last summer and immediately fell in love with the studio, staff, and workouts! I had never been truly committed to working out until I began bar method. For starters, there is a sense of community of great women that feels so inviting, you feel right at home. The locker room & showers are extremely clean and beautiful. The instructors are so helpful during classes and help you through the workout to ensure you are doing the right moves safely for your posture. This workout works out your whole body and definitely kicks your butt. You can modify the workouts with modifications recommended as you need. Through my time here I have lost inches on my waist and noticed changes on my body that I've never seen before. The best part for me was post workout, when you feel so accomplished and proud of what your body was capable of doing. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to challenge yourself while working out and be surrounded by great welcoming people. read more

I've been to a variety of barre classes and this is by far the best. The studio is clean, the instructors are super fun and very professional. There is a ton of variation, you can learn something new with every class. They will recommend modifications for medical conditions such as injuries or pregnancy. The class truly targets the entire body in a balanced approach so you don't overdevelop strength or muscles that can predispose you to injury. You will feel results in just a few classes. I had a hip flexor injury from running over a year ago, and after a few weeks at bar method Long Beach my injury was on the path to recovery. Thank you Bar Method Long Beach! read more

Jo is absolutely the sweetest most amazing Barre teacher around! I am really not flexible at all and she helped me adjust to the proper tools to match up my ability with my efforts (ie; the lower barre, lol.) The studio is beautiful and I feel so great when I complete a class. I wish I could go more often! read more

I've been going here for several months M-F and it's consistently challenging (in a good way). They have little challenges where you sign up for x amount of classes and get free socks. Cool! The 6 a.m. classes are great for me. read more

I am very pleased with my decision to try Bar Method. It remains challenging and fun, even after a year. I always feel really great after class. Rude. I was 7 minutes late on a five minute late policy having done hundreds of bar classes in other locations across the country. Unnecessary to be so difficult at 6 am to a visitor from out of town read more

great clean spot to work on those little muscles. the little movements work and makes you break a sweat to tighten and tone. such great instructors! they take their time to help you improve. thanks bar! read more

Love this place! Always clean despite how busy it is. A great workout every time with the friendliest staff!

Overall I have enjoyed the 7 classes I have attended. The parking is easy, the studio is clean with nice amenities, the staff is friendly & welcoming. The classes have been challenging, although a little boring at times. They don't seem to mix it up much and only once or twice was the music inspiring. I appreciate all the stretching throughout the class however at times it feels the instructors are rushing it, another 5 seconds on the 2nd side would do wonders.I also wish the instructors would demonstrate more of the moves. I'm very visual and seeing is more effective when there are 10 things you are trying to get your body to do at once...feet parallel, leg bent, pelvis under, chest forward, shoulders down, waist bent, leg back, toes flexed... Again, visual is more helpful! The price is also a concern for me. I've attended another studio which had ALL the same positive features with more exciting workouts for $120 a month. I'm not convinced this studio is worth $150 a month for me. I will be trying others in my area before making that commitment. read more

This review is long overdue. I have tried Pure Barre, Cardio Barre, Meraki Barre, and Pop Physique but Bar Method remains my favorite. It is a huge pet peeve of mine when trainers/instructors don't correct your form because I think it's really dangerous and can harm your body more than it can help it. Bar Method is hands-on and the instructors are amazing and are all really personable - I love that. You get just the right amount of attention. The classes are really structured and well balanced. You pretty much hit every part of your body and get some good stretching in. I stopped going to LBBM because of the distance. In the last year, I have realized that after trying different workouts, bar classes, etc., my body looked and felt the best while going to LBBM. I had dedicated a solid 5-6 months (3-4x a week) until a new job and longer commute made it almost impossible for me to go. I have recently started back up because I miss it! I was diagnosed with lupus a few years ago and as a result, I could barely walk, lost all my muscle and strength, and gained a lot of weight. I've always been an athlete and super active my whole life, so this inactivity killed me mentally, physically, emotionally, etc. Walking was difficult, weights were impossible and yoga was too straining on my joints, particularly my wrists. BM was my first exercise after being inactive for over a year. It was the best thing I could do for my body - low impact but so impactful. I could see results immediately. BM honestly saved me and allowed me to get back into being in shape. I highly recommend it to the average person but even more so to anyone diagnosed with chronic illnesses like lupus. read more

Such a great place to work out. The staff was super friendly right when you walk through the door. You get such a good full body work out. I was still feeling the burn two days after. The instructor, Allison, was super good! I can't recommend her class enough. She was extremely knowledgeable and precise. She was always there to correct your pose and to give you encouragement. I will definitely be back! I found my favorite workout place in LA! read more

I can't say enough wonderful things about Bar Method Long Beach! This is not just a place to get an effective and challenging workout, but its also a really cool community of people that are kind and supportive of each other. The structure of the workouts make the 45 or 60 minute classes fly by. Bar Method's full body workout uses isometric movements to target hard to tone areas, and you end each class feeling accomplished and ready to take on the day. There is always ample parking and a friendly face to greet you as you walk through the door. The beautiful spa like studio offers onsite showers, lockers for your belongings, and large mirrored locker rooms fully equipped to clean off post workout. There are blow dryers, deodorant, razors and more available to use post class. There is even a coffee and tea station where you can bring your own mug and leave it at the studio to use each time you take class! Alkaline water is also available to fill your water bottle and fresh towels are always clean and ready to grab for class. This studio is truly one of a kind and provides an exceptional workout and experience. I'm so glad I found them!! read more

I absolutely recommend the bar method no matter what your age, weight or physical abilities. I am 59 years old and suffered a knee injury about 3 years ago and after 1 year of rehab and then another surgery.. I was feeling sluggish, had lost muscle mass, (also due to the aging process) and had become comfortable in my daily routine of walking my dogs for about 3 miles a day as my main exercise. Still I did not have endurance and had contra lateral low back pain that was a result of my knee injury. Thanks to the bar method I have regained strength in my core, which has alleviated my back pain, I has toned my over all body mass/muscle, have more energy and I love the atmosphere so I enjoy going to work out. I love the correction and guidance given to me by my bar instructors that make sure I do the exercises properly protecting my joints and back. Overall I have been attending for 3 months and I look forward to making the bar method my place to achieve better health and overall wellness. :) Thanks Bar Method Long Beach!! read more

I've been coming here for 3 months and I'm addicted! I'm seeing a difference in my body and muscles and I'm feeling great. The workouts are really targeted to work your large muscles groups and it burns in the best ways. I appreciate the critics in class so that I know I'm doing the workout properly. It's nice that the instructors/ front desk know you by name! I will definitely continue to come. As a former dancer, I'd love to see a technique dance class offered here or there. read more
