To my surprise, it was flaky, sweet but not too sweet and the orange wasn't overpowering. I also ordered their lavender latte after learning they made the lavender syrup in house. This bakers place us one if my top favorite bakery in San Fernando County. First of all, the costumer service is very welcoming which all the staff are super friendly and helpful. The food is amazing I like their chicken sandwich and all their selection fresh bakery. They also have good coffee and other fresh drinks. Their patio has a good space for seating outdoors. I love this gem, fresh bread! I've been coming the the bakers daughter for some time though i don't know why it took me so long to write a review. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. My go to here is the Croque Madame and Avocado toast. My gf tried the Shakshouka, it was not the best, needs salt and love very bland. We normally get coffee as well my go to is the Mocha, it's better hot than iced. Iced taste like chocolate milk. Most definitely a place you need to visit if you have not yet. read more

They advertise "vegan options" but when we got to the counter, I asked what vegan meals they offered since the menu did not list them. The gentleman replied: "well, I think it's avocado toast only". I was bummed but I said OK I'll have the avocado toast and he said "oh, we are out of avocados". WHAT???? Disappointed I asked: "ok well what else is vegan?" He replied : "umm the banana bread". I'm convinced they don't know how to prepare coffee. Such a great find! Our GPS sent us past Costco, so it took awhile to find. It's located in the Marriott hotel shopping center. Clean, country feel, with tables for two and then larger, community style, tables. Seating for inside and outside. Employees were welcoming and friendly. You order at the counter (menus are available and drinks are written on the wall) and they bring your food to your table. The best croissant that I've had in a long time! Fresh out of the oven, crispy outside, soft inside. My son ordered the All in one plate- two scrambled eggs, avocado, bacon, and fresh sourdough toast, and a Vietnamese Latte. We finally got the opportunity to try out Bakers Daughters after being told about it and seeing it on social media and let me tell you I was glad to be there. Happy friendly staff in a flavorful aroma of freshly baked bread welcomes you for your order featuring freshly baked cakes, croissants, scones, cookies and bread. Their sandwiches are so good assembled on their house made breads can't be beat. Great place for coffee and pastries as well. Love the fact that it is a working bakery in the background while you dine at the front of the store. This is a great place for breakfast and lunch as well as a local bakery making fresh breads daily and offering a variety of French, sourdough, buttermilk and other breads depending on the day. Not only will I return for more of their delicious sandwiches and baked goods alongside a freshly made coffee but I will be back for some of that fresh bread when I am cooking at home. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. It was severely overpriced (almost $60 for 3 entrees and no beverages) and none of the food was cooked correctly. The eggs were watery, the bacon under cooked, avocado was hard and unripe. The sourdough was good, but not amazing. Plus you bus your own table and the staff wasn't overly friendly. The ambiance was very cute though and it had good seating inside and out. In all fairness we only order 2 of the "All in one plate" and one "buttermilk breakfast sandwich " (not pictured), so maybe other dishes would be better. I recently visited this quaint coffee spot in Moorpark. I enjoyed an iced lavender latte - and it was delish! The gentleman who created my beverage was very kind, knowledgably provided interesting tidbits about this place. It was started by the same people who own the Tai-Chi place next door. The employees are kind and attentive and I enjoy the ambience. With that said, I do not love their coffee. Every time I've gotten an iced latte it is just completely full of milk. I know that's what a latte is, but I've worked in many cafes before and I've never seen baristas fill a cup to the brim with milk and then drop in maybe three ice cubes. The drink is then hardly iced and is 99% milk which maybe some people like it that way but it's not my personal taste. You know how you can tell by the color? Well mine is always the lightest shade of brown which is basically an off white. I also noticed they pour hot espresso straight into the empty clear plastic cold cups. Most places will add at least some milk or ice first to an iced drink because the plastic cups can melt when in contact with straight hot espresso. It's just a recipe for melted microplastics to end up in your drink. Basically, I prefer more ice, less milk, and milk or something else first to prevent hot liquid melting plastic into your drink. read more

The Baker's Daughters came across my Instagram feed this morning, so I thought I would go by and see what they had to offer. In addition I was in the mood to have a grilled Ham & Cheese sandwich today. Let me start off by saying that I am not a "Bread Person" by any means, except for a piece of cheesy garlic bread and a fresh baked Focaccia with roasted garlic to make a sandwich. Other than that, I'll take a pass on bread. I got there right after opening (8:00am) this morning, and was pleasantly surprised when I walked through the door. The aroma was intoxicating and the place was very clean. The bakery team members were busy bustling around, weighing out flour, preparing meals for the other patrons, etc. When it was my turn, I picked up a loaf of their fresh baked Sourdough (sliced) and one loaf of their mini baguettes. I got home a started to prepare the Grilled Ham & Cheese, when I opened up the bag with the sliced sourdough, the smell was so amazing, my wife could smell it in the other room. She was so taken back, by how wonderful it smelled. I buttered the bread and as the bread heated up and the butter started to melt on the griddle, the aroma of the bread intensified even further. So, I used fresh thinly sliced Maple-Ham, Baby Swiss and some sliced dill pickles (patted dry), and a small little drizzle of yellow mustard to make the sandwiches. OMG!!! The sandwiches slowly turned "Golden Brown", the cheese slowly melted (enough to fill all the wonderful holes in the bread) and the ham heated just enough to bring out the flavor without getting it too warm so that it started to loose moisture. The bread was "Crunchy, Chewy & Crispy, and did not get soggy. Absolutely Delicious!!! These were probably the best "Grilled Ham & Cheese" sandwiches I have ever made, and I mostly attribute this to the wonderful "Sourdough Bread" from the "Baker's Daughters"! Next Time I will take some pictures to share. To the owner and to the baker's, You all are doing a "Great Job"! Thank you, We will be back for more! read more

I've heard so many of my friends rave about The Baker's Daughters that I had to check it out! They said the tuna sandwich is amazing, but sadly when I went they sold out... instead, we got the croque madame, which was rich and savory, and the turkey blt. The star of the sandwiches were the bread, of course! We brought our pups here, but I wouldn't really recommend bringing them even though there's outdoor seatings - the tables are a bit flimsy and the walkway was a bit narrow. If you buy an entree, you get 10% off your bread! We opted for the sourdough, which was so good! I ended up making my own tuna sandwich when I got home with it, lol. read more
