This is my go to for bagels. Fresh, delicious and a big variety, something for everyone. Also, recently discovered their lunch salads -- huge and delicious. They grill a massive amount of yummy chicken on the salads featuring chicken, it last me 2 meals! For $14, you can't beat it. And, they have a nice variety of bakery goods, my go to's are individual portions of crumb cake and ruggelah. Coffee is decent as well, you fix it yourself while you wait for your order. And where can you get a delicious nova and bagel sandwich with lettuce tomato and onions for this price (you may, like me, want to ask for them to go light on the cream cheese, otherwise you will get too big a schmear and have to remove it yourself - I have been known to do it with my finger in the car). But it satisfies my need for a nova fix! I don't understand the comments about customer service. This is a small local place that does a brisk business at the times you would expect people to get bagels (mornings, weekends). They are no nonsense and efficient, what's wrong with that? They need to move the line to get you in and out so you can get on with your day. I don't go for socialization or to dilly dally at the counter ruminating over what to order. The parking lot in front is challenging, but that's not their fault. Pro-tip: Park on the side street and walk a couple more steps and you won't have to worry about someone sideswiping you. read more

Stopped by Bagel Box and was genuinely impressed. I had a blt sandwich and it hit all the right notes. The bacon was crisp, the sandwich overall was awesome. You can tell they care about quality and doing it right. The place itself is cozy and inviting, with a relaxed neighborhood feel. The service was great friendly, fast, and attentive. It's a small bagel joint in a tight parking lot but don't let that discourage you from going there. I ordered a salt bagel with scallion cream cheese. Toasted enough to Make it warm but still keeping the chewiness I desired. Really good salt bagel. Scallion cream cheese was good with real scallions cut perfectly. The bagels are always good. Always fresh. However, the Customer Service is absolutely terrible.

Great spot. Their food is good and the service is good. It's a small location (what bagel shop is not). Depending on the time you go, you can either get quick service or it'll be packed. If I'm getting a bagel I go there for it, but if I'm ordering something that takes longer, I call ahead. Their Cajun Chicken Wrap is the best! read more

The employees are so rude! I placed a phone order and when I came to pick up my order it was wrong, I came back into the store to explain what was wrong and one of the employees was fighting with me! Maybe she felt brave because no other customers were in the store, or maybe she was having a bad day, but it's NEVER okay to fight with your customers. We stayed at a hotel near by and walked over for breakfast wraps each morning. Food was very good, friendly staff, and speedy service.

I can see why the rating for this place is so very low. Today while waiting in line another customer just walks in and walks past all the people waiting and when this brought to the attention the staff they give some lame excuse for the person. I have my set places in NY that I visit but when working from home I have to go digging around town. So I found this place via good l'Yelp search. The hours are friendly to my work schedule. They open at 5am, I end at 6am. This place can get packed fast. I arrived a bit after 6am and I was the only customer, in literally 2-3 mins about 5-6 other customers piled in. The shop itself is not large and it doesn't take many bodies to fill up the place. No seating, so if you expect to sit and people watch, think again. It's located in a mini strip area, parking was plenty since I got there at the crack of dawn but I am sure the spots fill up fast at peak time. The bagel shop has quick turn around so it seems parked patrons will be in and out rather fast. Food- 1) Cinnamon Bagel toasted with Butter- I should have mentioned to go light on the butter. It was way too much butter, it leaked out of the bag onto my car seat. No Bueno. I had to use tissue paper to absorb up the butter. Hard to enjoy without thinking of how much butter I was sadly ingesting. My poor arteries. Bagel shops slap on too thick a serving of butter...not really sure why. It doesn't add more oomph to the bagel. There is a plateau in terms of butter usage. After a certain amount of butter, you aren't really add anything more in terms of taste. 2) Plain mini bagel with Lox- I actually ate this the next day. The bagel itself but okay. I wasn't a fan of the Lox spread. I wasn't terribly impressed with what I ate. But I may consider giving it another chance with the buttered bagel but next time asking for 75% less butter. read more

trying to find my new local bagel place so popped in here. just got 2 everything bagels and 1/4lb of scallion bacon cream cheese. the only other place i know that offers scallion bacon cream cheese is 'brooklyn bagel' in the city, so this was immediate points in my book. the bagels had decent fluff and outside crust. price was right, didn't walk out of there feeling like i got robbed. read more

They gave me the wrong order so I went back in but the woman insisted that its just the same as what i prefer. So I walked out and left the wrong bagel and I just dont want to get a new one. When i asked why, the 6 people just looked at me and a guy said we're busy. With that attitude and sense of running a business they won't be for long as they have no concept of customer service. Bagels? yes - they're good. I'd say the rest of the food is very very tasty... HOWEVER - THESE people DO NOT DELIVER !!!! And if they say they do - DON'T BELIEVE THEM ONE BIT!! I asked in person for a delivery to Roseland and was told yes, after picking up a $13 order one morning and a menu. Then for the next 6 attempts, my fellow co-workers kept getting the run around and headaches whenever they called the business to order their lunches - either there was one complaint or another. Mind you, we're less than 12 minutes away from this place... First it was they didn't deliver on weekends; then it was yes we do and you have to tell us what business you're from; then it's we don't deliver at all. You'd think a business owner would want to actually be successful and get people to come get your food or want someone to order and have many people wanting your sandwiches, but You don't want to improve your customer service skills at all and you treat your customers like the dirt on the floor of your bagel shop. Bagel Box bagels are always perfect to bite into in the morning. I'm an all around bagel type person. I can have any bagel: Taylor Ham egg and cheese, jalapeño bagel with lox and cream cheese, or even a traditional plain bagel with cream cheese. Yesterday morning really got under my skin and I have a pretty high threshold for impatience. I decided this review mainly about SERVICE was necessary with the hopes that things will improve and Bagel Box will remain standing for years to come. I called Bagel Box to place my order with a woman around 9:00 to pick up. I knew it wasn't an elaborate order, a Blueberry Bagel with Cream Cheese, but I needed it ready to grab and go to make an appointment. Plus, it was a little after rush hour so I wasn't sure how busy it would be and I could risk being late. She said "No problem," and gave me my order number. I walk in about 10 minutes later. No line, place is empty, except for 5 employees standing by the register socializing and 1 woman counting money. It takes 1 employee 15 seconds (no exaggeration, it was an awkward lull for me, just waiting for them to pause their casual conversation) to greet me. I told them my order number and they couldn't find it. After 10 minutes of placing my order, 15 seconds of them conversing, and 2 minutes to find my not missing, but incomplete order, it wasn't made yet. The woman counting the money said, in Spanish, that it's JUST a blueberry cream cheese, which I thought was terribly rude to say it in a different language as if to hide from me, the customer, who actually understands Spanish Yes, it doesn't take long to put cream cheese on a bagel, but what if they were busy when I got there and it still wasn't ready? One employee apologize and said something happened. I voiced my concerns to that employee because clearly it wasn't his fault because I spoke to 1 woman, the same woman who was counting money and as I got vocal, she moved away from the front yesterday to the side to continue counting. It's the principle. I hope this review finds them well and changes their attitude on how they treat their customers. read more

The bagels are awesome. But be smart and call ahead to avoid the wait. Most of the folks complain about the service. But come on, it's a bagel place this ain't 5 star dining. I'm a big fan of New Jersey bagels, and make a point of stocking up every time we visit my boyfriend's family. The Bagel Box was better than any bagel I can get in the DMV, but was not the out-of-this-world-knock-your-socks-off-religious-experience as I've had elsewhere in Jersey. I probably won't be back, just because I don't live in NJ and can go to my stead love Sam's when I'm there, but if you're in a pinch the line moves quickly and the bagels were NOT over-toasted and my breakfast sandwich was perfectly acceptable. read more

The everything bagel is more like a salt bagel now, idk where the poppy seeds went but that's not why I gave 2 stars. I picked up one of their huge cookies that are Saran wrapped & there was a fruit fly INSIDE the Saran Wrap still walking around. I thought it was outside the wrap so I tried swatting it away but it wasn't flying so I picked up the cookie to really look at it and realized it was inside. I gave it to the woman giving her the heads up that there's a fly in there. The worst customer service ever! Go to Bagels by Jarret, the staff is much more pleasant and the food is delicious! The most bizarre and unprofessional events took place on a Saturday afternoon about 45 min before closing time. I ordered a cold sandwich and I see that the cashier rang me up for about $14.00. I asked her what exactly is she ringing me up for and she tells me that she's ringing me up for other things as well. The cashier tells Rosa (the person who took my order and was also making my sandwich) that I didn't ask for the other things and Rosa had all the attitude in the world and kept making nasty gestures and mouthing off saying (in Spanish) that I did tell her that I wanted those other items, etc. To their surprise, I'm a fluent Spanish speaker. When I told Rosa in Spanish "I didn't tell you I wanted those other things, I only told you that I wanted a sandwich.", she literally looked me in the face and rudely said "you did tell me you wanted the other things" My fiancé and I couldn't believe it. Even he was trying to tell her that he heard what I said and that I didn't ask for anything but a sandwich. Rosa continued having her attitude and turned her back on my husband. I told the cashier to cancel my order and I just left. Bagel box needs to get it together and hire people with better customer service skills. All that attitude was uncalled for. I used to come very often here during high school. I'm very disappointed in the decrease in quality of the bagel sandwiches after 14 years. This time, I made an order ahead, over the phone, since I knew it's always busy. Once I got there 15 minutes later, they didn't have my order ready. In fact, they did not even get it started and the manager didn't know that I had called and made an order. I ended up getting my order 10 minutes later. Once I opened up my order at home, I found that the sausage, egg white and cheese was weak! I had to put a picture of it because it's ridiculous. The sausage was thin, there was probably one slice of Swiss cheese, and not enough egg white. I just got the most incredible Greek salad from my favorite bagel store! I realize my picture doesn't do it justice, but the chicken was warm (and there is so much of it) and there are even stuffed grape leaves tucked into each corner of the container. After i placed the order she started talking about me in Spanish saying I look weird and suspicious giving me nasty looks.
