This review is well deserved!!! I went to celebrate my birthday this weekend with some friends. Leo was the one that got us checked in. He was extremely patient with us and explained everything very thoroughly. He had great vibes and made sure our experience was 5 stars. The place is clean the ambiance is unmatched. I've been to other axe throwing spots but this spot is more than just throwing a axe. You get a variety of games to play whether you're here with friends, family, coworkers or on a date. Also the music is upbeat which that is always a plus. Also if owner is reading this LEO NEEDS A RAISE. It's very rare to walk into a place and receive 10/10 service.

Had an awesome time axe throwing! The vibe was energetic and laid-back, making it a super fun and comfortable experience from the start. Our host, Jose, was incredible--friendly, helpful, and made sure everyone felt confident and safe. He really went above and beyond to keep the energy up and made the whole thing even more enjoyable. The pricing was very reasonable for the experience we got, and it's honestly a perfect activity for a group outing or something different for date night. I'd absolutely recommend this place and will definitely be coming back!

I had no idea that axe throwing was a thing until my friend talked me into it. This is located in Torrance right across the defunct Alpine Village. While the area seems a bit dilapidated, once you walk in, you feel you're right at home. We had Nick help us out on how to throw sharp things at the wall and make sure the stick. We booked an hour, but because we were new to this and it was our first time, we got an extra half hour. We went on a Sunday afternoon. It wasn't too busy. The vibe is chill. Water and Gatorade is available for snacks. Games are a lot of fun! I liked the Candy Crush game! Overall, I like trying different things. This is not normally something I would do on a Sunday, but I'm glad I did. I would do this again and highly recommend!

Celebrated a very Capricorn birthday at the Axe District. We booked the whole facility for two hours and brought in our own food and drinks. Alex and Jose were our instructors/ hosts and they were both fan-freaking-tastic!!! From the initial instructions to the help along the way during my event, everything was top notch. They're great with kids and adults of all ages! I would definitely recommend this Axe throwing venue for events.

We rented 2 lanes for a party of 12, 6 each lane.

Came here on a Saturday night with a group of 12. For many of us, it was our first time axe throwing and we had a lot of fun thanks to our instructor John. He was nice, patient, and gave good tips and instructions for us to have a good time. Personally I had a hard time getting my axe to stick, but after a couple tips from John, I got my axe to stick on the board! It was very satisfying. We had so much fun, our hour went by fast. We only went through 3-4 of the mini-games. If we ever get the chance, we'd love to come back and try some of the other mini games. This place is clean, air conditioned, and it looked like they had a lot of bookings on a Saturday night. Free parking in parking lot.

This was my first actual legit axe throwing experience. And it was a lot of fun! Especially when you have great coaching from folks like John and Alex! My last and only experience was some half-baked set up at a brewery where the axes were kind of blunt and bent out of shape so I couldn't even stick one throw. Part of the reason why I chose this place was because I saw that they give you some pointers and tips on how to throw and I wanted to finally stick one. as a beginner, throwing axes at this place for one hour gave me a lot of confidence and provided me and the person I was with a fun and great experience. We both were landing a good amount of throws! (Again - thanks to John and Alex) Booking this place was pretty easy online. I made a reservation two nights before and it was really straightforward. Find this place was pretty easy to. It's located in the small strip mall so it's pretty hard to miss. We came in, sign the waivers, and then we were set up with the ability to choose a variety of different fun games. After a little coaching and given a few tips on how to throw we were ready to go. The two folks there, the night we went, were super friendly and we had a good time discussing and doing the throwing. I definitely would go back because I did have a lot of fun. I even got to learn how to do an underhand throw towards the end. I could see this being a great team building event place or just a place for a fun group night out. Again, I don't have a lot of experience at axe throwing places, but this place felt reasonably priced as well.

So much fun! It was easy to book and easy to find. Our instructor was very knowledgeable and helpful. There's a projector for each axe lane that has games like tic tac toe, blackjack, connect 4, etc. 1 hour doesn't seem like a long time but it was plenty for my husband and I. I definitely recommend trying this place at least once. It's not a big place but it's a fun experience.

The instructors were patient and encouraging with their lessons and tips. We had the choice to simply aim for the target or play some games. I'm surprised the place wasn't busier on a Saturday afternoon. Axe throwing definitely takes practice, but it feels good when it goes right. If you've been curious about axe throwing, I recommend giving The Axe District a try. read more

I booked this place for my man's birthday , just him and two friends, they ended up having a great time! It's cool how it's almost like bowling on how they keep tabs of the points and whatnot. I wish there was an option to do 1 hr and 1/2 when booking online (or at least I didn't see it), I just saw 1hr or 2hrs. I booked 1 hr in case they're too weak to carry on for 2hrs lol, jk. They ended up liking it so much and were able to add an addition 30min, so it all worked out! Definitely recommend this place ! read more

I absolutely loved this place! The staff are welcoming, helpful and hilarious. I recently threw a surprise party for my husband and the entire process went so smoothly (seriously from booking to paying the rest of the deposit). I've never been asked wrong before, and the staff was very helpful with showing us the correct form. The games are pretty fun as well and run for a good amount of time. The only downside that I can truly live with is that they don't offer food or drink, but the BYOB concept is absolutely so inviting. Loved it, will I be back... absolutely! read more

Stumbled upon this X throwing business while trying to find something to do for birthday celebration. This was definitely the place to go. The place was clean. The staff was very friendly. I officially lived out my lumberjack dreams. I booked an hour session of axe throwing for a group of six for a birthday. Parking was free and easy, it's part of a small strip mall so the parking lot was right up front and a 30 second walk. Upon arrival you scan a QR code with your phone and sign the liability waiver. Next we were split into two groups (we took up two lanes) and then John our gracious host gave us a tutorial on how to properly throw an axe. He showed us how to use the system (similar to bowling where you can input funny axe puns for names) and how to properly hold the axe and position the body. The tutorial in the beginning took about 10 minutes, then each person gets a chance to throw the axe to ensure proper understanding. Once everyone was able to make the axe stick, the games started and that is when the timer started. I appreciate that the time we paid for was for actual playing time and not absorbed by the tutorial and practice time. Axe throwing is super fun and surprisingly easy! They had themed games that were projected on the wood "screens" which amped up the competition. They had zombies, date night, but my favorite was black jack! Luckily they had AC in there too because I worked up a sweat. Be sure to dress comfortably along with closed toed shoes. This place would be a great company or team bonding activity. You can rent out the whole space if you have 12 or more folks and bring in your own food. (You're welcome for your next outing idea). I highly recommend trying out The Axe District. Thank you John for being a great host and creating a memorable evening for us! read more

I seriously cannot recommend the Axe District enough!!! From beginning to end our experience was blameless I brought a group of 7 and we had two lanes side by side which made it possible for us to all still mingle while playing. The two staff members on shift (John and Nathan) were SO kind and generous and diligently helped our group learn the ropes of axe throwing which was so helpful considering no one in our party had ever been before. If you're looking for a place to go axe throwing-- look no further... THIS is the only spot you'll ever want to go afterward! read more

I took 7 teenage boys to the Axe District for a fun birthday party, and they really enjoyed it. The Axe District's creators have you throwing real axes at wooden boards on which they project digital game boards like Connect Four and Blackjack as well as other amusing target-driven challenges. All the boys improved with time, and no one was hurt, ha ha! The instructors were super knowledgeable, talented, and helpful. We would return to this fun place. read more

Reserves under Albert at 3:00PM. First time axe throwing and first time here. I found this place on Yelp and the atmosphere seemed welcoming for what I was looking for. I was greeted by John and went through the the process of the disclaimer/waiver. He was more than accommodating in helping with the process. Wait this place so was fun! It was my second time doing axe throwing, and I loved that they had a bunch of interactive and competitive (if you wanted to be lol) ways to do axe throwing. The people working there were superr friendly and helpful and we all felt like pros by the end of it. It's BYOB and it was so much fun! I've been wanting to try axe throwing for a while, and after checking the websites of a few other local places, decided this would be a fun place to try. My husband and another couple of friends joined me this weekend to celebrate my birthday. None of us had ever been axe throwing, and Jose was great with coaching us through the proper (and safe) way to throw. I'm at the tail end of recovering from a broken ankle and was having a little trouble stepping forward to throw the axe in the typical single-handed overhand throw, so Jose taught me to use a double-fisted over-the-head throw that let me keep my feet planted. Our hour block was not started until after the lesson for our group was complete. He came back around about 40 minutes into our session and offered a few more tips to our group, which we appreciated. We brought our own beverages and snacks. The different types of games were fun. My whole group had a blast (even those of us who were less successful according to the scoreboards) and I would like to go back again soon. read more

Such a fun spot to compete and hang out with friends. If you've never done axe throwing before, John taught us how to throw it properly and went over all the different games. So much cooler than a regular axe throwing place because you can play connect four, and a game similar to candy crush. We'll definitely be coming back. Had so much fun for our first time axe throwing. John was very helpful explaining everything to us. Most of us was our first time so he was pretty detailed when explaining. Even helped correct our form so we can get better scores. There was a lot of different games to choose from but we just stuck to the target one to practice. John made sure to stop by a couple time to see how we were doing. Taught us single, double, and even under. Would totally come back again. Remember to wear closed toes shoes or buy the foam slip on for $10. read more

We went last night for their opening....Wow! This place is super cool. Very clean and inviting. Staff was nice and accommodating. I love that there are multiple game options and they're projected onto the throwing board. Tic tac toe, zombie hunting, points targets, blackjack 21 and more. Family friendly for sure. We took 2 kids with us and they had a blast, too. They don't sell beverages at this time, but you can bring your own and I think even BYOB. Just call before to ask about adult beverages. Also, make sure you have closed toe shoes. Don't want an axe ricochet to take off your toes. It's pretty cool that they're right next door to an escape room. Next time we go, we'll set up a time and do both. read more

Wow! John and Alex were so great! They explained the rules and provided tips when we requested. They did a great job checking us in and getting us and other ppl going. As for the ax throwing, it was wonderful!!!!! We are definitely I coming back with our family. There are five lanes and more than enough room to throw. Wish they sold beer or allowed us to bring our own. We are considering renting the whole place for a party!!! We love this place! read more

Of course, they all involve throwing an axe. You get a little coaching up front to teach you how to throw and then away your go. If you're looking for something different, check this out. We ordered one of the large platters that more than fed all of us. The barbecue items and the sides were all pretty darn good. I didn't drink this time around because I had to drive somewhere right after but they do have a great selection of drinks. Just a really solid place if you want good barbecue in a fun atmosphere. Seemed like there's plenty of parking in the area, which is also a plus.

The staff were very helpful and patient - gave us some tips and techniques to get us going. I opted for the everything bucket, shovel/axe/ knife, and I gotta say it was pretty worth it for the extra cost as you get to work with the different weight distributions. When you actually get the hit in, the sounds they make on the wooden boards is really nice. The entrance to this place is however, situated behind the main street since if you were to go through the entrance on commonwealth, you'd be in the axe throwing ranges already. Situated in the heart of downtown Fullerton, there's plenty of parking spots available. The public lots near the fullerton train station, street parking, etc.

Marc, the owner, was very nice and kind. He even allowed me to do a special request where I wore an outfit (which is a Morpshuit with t-shirt and shorts) underneath the gear used for the rage room. Very kind of him to accommodate this. I have never done a rage room before, so it was a unique experience. Shattering glass, and breaking things felt very liberating and it helped me release tension/anger. Additionally, at the very end, there was even another surprise where Marc even taught me how to throw ninja stars on the wooden board. It was super cool. At first, I couldn't get any ninja stars to stick, but on one of my final attempts, I actually did get the ninja star to stick, which was awesome!! I was pretty elated that I was able to do that! Anyways, shout out to Marc the owner for being very nice and accommodating. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a cool, friendly place to do a rage room or an escape room. Also took a while before someone came out to help (I think they were in the back assisting maybe another customer?) but some signage would help. - Waivers could be sent prior to arrival to save on time since it was a google form - staff could be more welcoming and better at explaining. I understand it may be sketchy to go to a customer's car to evaluate items brought from home since it could be a risk to the staff, but I think it could either be instructed earlier before arrival OR simply just state that you cannot leave the business. The delivery of the comment made by the staff was not very smooth (almost felt like implying we were bringing something bad or wrong). - A timer inside the room might be helpful as it's hard to keep track of time once you're destroying things. - Phone "mount" could be better secured with a clasp or something because one bump and our phone fell on the ground where there's shards and scraps everywhere. This could have easily scratched the phone. - Room felt cramped, but understand that may be limited by the size of the store space. - Half of the group was arriving late, in which I shared upfront and thought that the staff would assist in getting them as ready as possible before our first group came out to swap, but when I came out, I saw that they had not even begun to change. I understand the face shield and gloves are limited quantities, but they could have started fitting in the other items like jumpsuit and face coverings. - Also as we were swapping, I ended up giving the second group the instructions when it really should have been the staff to give them the run through. It felt very disorganized during the swapping. For the price, I think it would be nice if each group received at least one larger item and not just cups, plates, and glass. All-in-all, it was fun to let out some rage by wrecking things and not having to clean it up. My friends and I did enjoy this different experience. Also fun to watch them from the room cam inside the Axe Room as they rage.

On the food front, I got the ribs, brisket, mac & cheese, green beans, baked beans, and slaw. The brisket and ribs both came out very dry unfortunately, but the ribs were flavorful (the provided bbq sauces also helped). The mac & cheese was on the grainy side, but the baked beans and green beans were delicious. The Cole slaw was fine, a bit bland but nothing to write home about. I must admit that the food tasted better when I had ordered takeout a couple years back, which is why I had hoped today's meal would be even better than it was. It's also a pretty pricey meal for how much food you get, so I was hoping the quality of the meat would've been better. I don't think this place is bad by any means, but it does feel like the quality has gone down. I'd certainly be open to visiting again in the future, and hope things are better next time.
