During the recent windstorm we forgot to retract the awning and it was damaged. I first called the original installer, and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing. The first thing they told us was that the damage wouldn't be covered because we didn't retract it during the wind storm, and the customer service was extremely rude. It also reminded me how difficult it was working with them in the first place, they gave us the runaround for almost 6 months before the original installation. After that, I reached out to Where Shade Is Made, and the difference was night and day. I spoke directly with the owner, who assured me I would get a call Monday morning to schedule the repair. Sure enough, Monday morning I received a call from Jimmy their GM, and from that point on everything was smooth and professional. By the very next day our shade was repaired and working perfectly again. Even better, Jimmy let us know that the repair didn't require as much work as originally expected, which actually made the final cost lower than the quote. Brett promised the world during the sales process, but once the contract was signed, the follow-through completely disappeared. After that, everything was handed off to Casey and communication went downhill fast. Weekend availability is terrible. I purchased the shutters in November, and installation didn't happen until months later. Brett measured my windows twice, then a younger employee came out and measured again. When the third-party installers finally showed up, they had the wrong measurements. How does that even happen after three separate visits? On top of that, Casey was extremely rude and condescending. She also kept my credit card on file without my permission, which is completely unacceptable. The level of unprofessionalism throughout this entire process was through the roof. Also, the first photo shown on this so-called business profile (the one with the curtains) apparently doesn't even belong to them...or at least that's the impression I got when I asked Brett about it.
