I installed a 12' wide custom roller shade with heavy fabric. It is wire guided to secure it from Santa Ana wind. This is to protect a roof deck sliding door from heavy rain. There is no off the shelves solution for this. Sales rep Mr Andy Albert came out, heard what I need and suggested this design on the spot. He is very knowledgeable. Installation took 2 visits. One for the first install and the 2nd for touch up. After the initial installation I needed some adjustments, Andy and the company promptly replied and resolved my needs. This is a small project for them but means a lot to me. If you need custom awning or rolling shades they are your best choice. read more

We asked for a 600-sq-ft slide-on-wire rectangular awning to fit a very tight and oddly shaped yard. Superior said they could do it, and to their credit they eventually did. (Finished last week.) But during the process, nobody seemed to be in charge, and their communications were terrible. They forgot to include $2K worth of basics in their original bid, as we learned only after our bidding process. During the installation phase, when new information prompted design changes, we were not reliably informed as to when the installers would (and would not) show up, leading to exasperating extra workarounds on our part to accommodate their schedule. And the final invoice did not include a credit that we had been promised, so we had to remind them--and even then did not get the full credit due. read more

I replaced both awnings in the same color but I chose a different design that Ken recommended for a more of a contemporary look. So glad I did because both turned out great. I'm not sure if this awning company is too big or what. Sales Consultant Ken Burgio was sent out to take measurements of the work to be done. Trust and believe Ken doesn't listen. He'll just go on and on about what he thinks should be done, not listening to me, the customer. It's a waste of time to deal with him at all. My time spent with him was a completely waste of my time. The installers that came out were more attentive and listening to what I wanted. After 4 times, of the installers coming out, because Mr. Burgio was a non listener, it was finally done right. Who has time like this to waste? I know I don't. The awning is beautiful but I had to deal with so much nonsense from Sales Consultant Ken Burgio that it takes away from the beauty of the awning. The installers were superb, all 4 different teams that came out to my property. Maybe the 4 different teams of Installers can teach Mr. Burgio some basic 101 basic customer service skills? My experience with Superior Awning was top-notch from the moment the sales representative, Ken Burgio, showed up. He was patient and understanding when I explained I was very PICKY when it came to color choices. He urged me to wait and get fabric samples of colors in consideration before making my choice. The installers removed the awning and took it back to the shop for refabrication. Three hours later, they were back and completed the work. 10 year warrantee on fabric was honored by Brian. I have (11) 3' wide panels that easily slide along cables so when extended almost all of my backyard can be in shade. Each panel has 8 or more sections of Sunbrella fabric, so about 100 sections in total. Installed May 2019, the Alumawood frame, stainless steel cables, and fabric are holding up very well. Be aware that in strong winds the panels should be collapsed to lessen stress on the frame and protect the sections of fabric as well. Very happy customer. read more

This company does great work, plain and simple. I initially used them to build and install awnings on my home. When I decided to have some made for our rental property, I called on them again to do the job. Ken came out at the time I was promised. He took measurements, gave me several options and suggestions and I signed the agreement. Within a few short weeks, my order was ready for installation. A friendly two man crew came and did the installation and clean up in just a couple of hours. Not only do the awnings look great, but they were installed just before the heavy rains came. For the first time ever, our windows (which were recently painted) were protected from the weather. Yes, we will use them again when we need more awnings. This is probably the worse company to get an awning from since they are hard to get a hold from after not being happy with the results. Claudia has to be the worse receptionist (if you can call her that) she gave attitude and had to pass me a nice lady name Bertha now that is a good manager since they said the other manager was not there because he did not have time. I asked for a 22' retractable by 12' and said they couldn't do black because the machine that paints it was not working. that is really not my fault and they were trying to charge me extra because I asked for black painted frame. The salesmen Joe a great guy, probably the best part. The material feels like paper instead of being Sunbrella. that is unacceptable. the installer David said that its 100% sunbrella when I overheard him tell the other guys that it definitely wasn't in Spanish he said that you need to be careful to not fold it because its like paper and the wrinkles wont come out. wow, where to start... so much wrong with this company. Ill try keep it concise. (I had 3 different jobs done) 1) Jeremy does not listen, he forgot to mention the awning was to be installed into a HUGE steel beam, they thought it was timber. He also drew up another steel structure incorrectly so the parts were fabricated wrong. 2) it was to take 6 weeks, but all in all took 4 months because parts had to be remade and re powder coated, and also I had to call 6 times or more asking where are the steel awnings ? and was told over and over the were in paint, finally I pulled it out of their noses that the color I wanted was not in stock and would not be ever in stock again! Also these awnings had to be redone because they mis-measured the attachment arms 3) The large awning I bought squeaks and rattles and doesn't hold up to a breeze let alone wind . Also my husband had to cut and refit the end of the metal valance due to their faulty measurements and the fact they mickey moused it in without telling us. 4) they left filthy marks all over the house facade, we can't get it off and will need to repaint, house was newly repainted so you can imagine I'm NOT pleased 5) management! wow, the worst, especially Bertha who makes a sport of telling you she will call you back ASAP and then you call 5 more times! She has no clue about anything, Julio is a joke too. 6) some of the teams were good , Superiors saving grace ... especially truck 7 and truck 17 .. they worked with the mess they were given, from the chaos and complete uselessness of managements lack of communication between departments. conclusion: shop elsewhere, I DO NOT RECCOMMEND! Recently used Superior awning to install a 20X6 patio cover in a rental property. The team that came for installation was inexperienced and they missed putting flashing, did not seal the holes properly, did not slope the awning so that water drains properly and did a very rough job. Superior awning office did send a different team to fix it. The other team was more experienced and it took them almost a full day to fix the issues. Now the flashing is there and the water is draining properly but the finished installation cannot be called "superior" in any way. I would not go with them again. read more

We called Superior Awning in desperate need of replacing the old shade covering for our west facing back patio, the only barrier between our living room glass doors and the intense afternoon sun. We were in the peak of summer at the time, so It was understandably one of our top priorities. My husband suggested that I can be rigid and "hard to work with" (is it a crime to have high standards?!) when it comes to working with home improvement contractors, so naturally we started this out with some degree of apprehension. It is a longterm investment afterall. Despite our initial caution, our sales rep (bless his heart) guided us through the process without so much as a flinch, and opened our minds to some fantastic design options we never would have seen otherwise. Over a decade ago I installed a custom designed awning, by "AAwnings of Distinction", above my front door, and this time I wanted to add more awnings above my windows.  Using the same fabric and details of the original awning, Superior Awning by far had the best price. Their sales rep. Ken was very professional and responsive. He came out again with a tech. to make measurements and check details of the existing awning. The awnings were fabricated in a very timely manner, and the installation team did a great job, even though they were hanging on tall ladders in a difficult situation. As I indicated, my awnings were custom designed, in addition I have very high standards, and a keen eye for details, some things needed adjustments, so I communicated with their manager Julio who was extremely helpful.
