Today Jons sent over two of their workmen, Victor and Julio to repair our broken lock on the large oversized sliding glass door Jon's had installed in 2022. We needed new windows since our previous ones were looking worse for wear and Jon's Window & Awning Company were the right choice for the job! I would definitely use them again and recommend their local business to anyone; especially a Burbank local. The inspection was very smooth and shared some really nice choices on what Windows could be installed for us. On the day of construction, two workers came by early morning and were done with our windows in a couple hours. No trouble or complications -- leaving us with perfect brand new windows that I'm sure will last us for a very long time. The quality of windows and trim were top notch, clean, and very functional as well. Great and fair value in my books! (This isn't my first new window service either; I'm pleasantly impressed.) Exceptional service! Jon sent us a few sliding glass door options, and when he came to our home to take measurements, he gave us a contact for a company that could actually repair our 63-year-old (true MCM) door. His recommendation was spot-on. We now have a sliding glass door that works like new, and we saved money. I can't believe I forgot to write a review, because buckle up, you're not gonna believe this..... So back in Jan 2024, I moved into a new condo. "New" to me, but 50+ years old to the world. About a month or so later, we started having all that rain and wouldn't you know it, there were leaks. MAJOR leaks that had been happening for years and pretty much damaged all the drywall on one side of the house. HOA was responsible for ripping out all the damaged drywall and repairing the roof and stucco leaks and they did just that. Then came the trouble. We were required to pass a water test before HOA would schedule the new drywall installation, which makes sense. However, we failed the water test due to windows the previous owner had installed that were just shoved into the old exterior wooden frames, and the wooden frames had begun to rot. So after scouring Yelp, we decided on Jon's. The guy that came to take measurements actually lived in the area so he was familiar with our HOA's rules and certain codes. The windows had to be special ordered, they arrived slightly late but that was on the factory. Install day came and went, everything was smooth....until the NEXT water test. Just like before, there was leaking near the windows. Now, Jon and his team apologized and came out to fix everything they could find that would be a potential for leaking. But come the next few water tests....same thing. Again, Jon and the stucco guys he used did their absolute best and even went so far as to completely replace the moisture barrier and stucco on part of the wall, yet the leaks persisted. Jon himself even came to the water tests to see for himself. Every time, HOA insisted it was our vendor's fault there were leaks. Finally, Jon suggested a third party inspector to come in and look around. Wouldn't you know it, this guy took one look at the old moisture barrier (which is part of the exterior, therefor HOA's responsibility) and told us there was absolutely no way in hell we were ever going to pass a water test because this 50+ year old barrier was ripped and degraded beyond repair!! With that, HOA relented and took responsibility, completely replacing the moisture barrier and stucco on an ENTIRE side of my unit. And surprise, surprise, we were finally able to pass a water test and get our new drywall installed earlier this year. (Yes, I was living with gutted walls for TEN MONTHS while this was all happening) Throughout the ordeal, Jon and his team stood by their work, going above and far, FAR beyond what was necessary. My mom and I were so grateful for everything they did. I am now working on trimming the windows they so beautifully installed, that have not leaked at all. read more

I really like this company. A couple years ago, they replaced all my house's windows (all in one day!) and a giant glass sliding door (one more day). Some recient experiences with less professional contractors made me remember what a great job they did, so i'm back to leave a long overdue review. The staff was very helpful, came out to our house, gave us a fair price, and were quick to install. They did a great job - quality products, and they talked me through also making sure everything was up to code. The installers were skillful, and left the place as clean as they found it. The pricing from Jon's was significantly less than other local installers. With a 50% deposit, my order was placed! In about three weeks I was contacted for an install date. A team of three came to install five windows in my home. The team was very neat and courteous. They left my home just as they found it. The tolerated me being a lookey-loo and staring in amazement at the whole process. My home was built in 1927 with original windows, seeing this change and installation was a big deal! I wish that I could give them 10 stars. Jon and his team are simply amazing! In 2003, I needed to replace the old metal windows. A trusted coworker recommended Jon's Window and Awning. Jon provided me with a fairly priced estimate to replace the windows and patio door with Milgard products. He was friendly and professional, answering my numerous questions so I felt confident that things would go smoothly, especially since I had indoor kitties that I didn't want to accidentally escape. The ordering and installation process was seamless and his installation team was top notch. His installers were neat and paid attention to detail. It's no easy feat to replace windows and a patio door in an older house that has been through several large earthquakes, but they went above and beyond to ensure that everything was perfect. Over the years, there were a few issues covered by Milgard's warranty, and each time, I received top tier service. When a patio door handle cracked, I received a new one within days. Recently, I noticed a little water pooling after a heavy rainstorm and they were literally out within two days to fix the issue. And this is 22 years after the initial installation. To receive the same excellent level of service for decades speaks volumes about Jon's integrity and dedication to his customers. I had a few companies come to bid my windows but Jon was the one that really knew the correct Burbank city codes. I was considering another company but he said that it might be hard to switch from the grids to plain, and many other issues with the windows that might be problematic with the city of Burbank. Too many specifics for here but bottom line Jon went to the city to talk to them as I didn't want to order anything the city wouldn't permit and cleared any of those doubts up! Next, he sent a crew with several guys that all knew exactly what to do and they didn't stop all day long. They were polite when I had questions, they had every tool possible, they weren't noisy and were at my house for several days. I had 18 windows and 2 sets of double french doors changed. My greatest concern was getting rid of all the green trims around windows that were rotted, old and UGLY. Jon coordinated with the stucco contractor and what an amazing turn around. My house is much cooler that I am not even putting shades back up on those big windows! I had a couple of stucco bids and both recommended Jon's Window and Awnings. read more

I have many rental properties and have worked with many contractors. This company has, by far, been the worst one I have ever worked with. I had hired them to replace the cover on my existing awning. 1. Scheduling: When scheduling the time for installation, the scheduler was incredibly difficult to deal with. She insisted on the installation happening at a time that would not work for me. She continued to insist that there was no other time available and if I wanted another day, it wouldn't happen for weeks. So I obliged and changed my work schedule to make the time work. 2. Subcontractors: Their subcontractors came at the wrong time. I remotely opened by house door to allow them to get started (mistake on my part). The subcontractor called me when he finished and stated "I finished, but there is a problem". I asked him to wait a few minutes as I was almost home and he said he would wait. When I arrived, he was gone. I called him 4 times, and he didn't answer his phone. 3. Work performed: The awning cover is completely misaligned and now doesn't close all the way. There was trash left all over my patio. Two of my plants were completely damaged 4. Office communication: I called the office multiple times and got no response for 2 days. It makes no sense to me that they would schedule an installation on a day that no one is in the office to handle any problems that would arise with installation. When I finally did get in contact with them, they said they would send the subcontractor again to come take it look. He came by, tried to realign the awning, but broke off two of the screws holding it in. He then said he would call the office and let them know, and that someone from the office would call me back in regards to next steps. IT HAS NOW BEEN 28 DAYS SINCE he was here, and I have not heard from this company. The only thing they did was send me a full invoice. read more

Nice employees but at $500 per window to install you should definitely consider finding a highly qualified, and recommended installer and save 50% or more on the overall costs. Jon's window cost is not marked up extensively but the installation costs are not that easy to read on the proposal because they are buried along with "junk fees" as has been the practice lately with many businesses both large and small. While I'm sympathetic with the fact that in this economy it's very hard to run a local family business and stay afloat, the saying "Buyer beware" is as true now as it ever was. On the other hand if you want nice reliable people who do a good job and cost is not that big a concern or the job is small , Jon's could be the right choice for you. read more

Jon's Window & Awning replied with a bid via email. I accepted the bid. They showed up and removed the old awning and we never saw them (You can't social distance any better than that!) When the new awning was ready, they showed up and installed it and we never saw them. I have no idea what these people look like or if they are human. The work and material quality is fantastic. Days after the install, I reached out to them to please send me an invoice. This probably isn't standard so don't expect this, but it felt great to be trusted by this company. It is very difficult to find a good contractor. Contractors and their labor crews need to be knowledgeable, communicative, detail oriented and skilled. They need to address problems when they come up and promptly make things right. It's that last one where many contractors fail... some are happy to bid the job and even do the job, but some fall off the face of the earth when you have an issue. In the case of Jon's Windows, they pretty much do everything right. We were doing a fairly big job of replacing nearly 20 single pane, wood-frame windows with energy efficient vinyl ones. Their estimator Randy was incredibly detailed, he promptly answered my questions, and was patient with me as we went back and forth for weeks to figure out exactly what windows we needed. Their price was reasonable. Their installers - led by a foreman who has worked for the company for many years - were efficient, knowledgeable, and very importantly, kept the dust to a bare minimum and cleaned up thoroughly after the job. And when minor install issues came up, they returned more than once to fully complete the job and make sure we were satisfied. I would 100% use them again. I only wish they did other work besides windows and doors. Their work ethic and attention to detail appears to start from the top and is adhered to by everyone who worked on our job. read more

I waited the 3 months for my windows to come In. Jons windows installed the windows, but left a major gap In one, with wood spaces still left in the window. I kept telling my husband it sounds like the window Is open. Finally we climbed on the wall to discover the partially installed window. We paid in full but are waiting for them to come fix... In the meanwhile we still get to enjoy the neighbors air conditioning until they remedy. Also they installed a window in my kitchen on tile and it would have been nice for them to use tape to give the caulking a straight line.... But more sloppy work. read more

Mike, Jon, Antonio and the rest of the installation crew are truly professional and very friendly. While Jon's Windows isn't the cheapest (which isn't a bad thing, because you get what you pay for from my experience), nor are they most the expensive. But, Jon's Window is very, very competitive in pricing, and they give 5 star customer service and quality of work. Sorry this review is long overdue. We worked with Jon's Windows and Awning back in January and February of 2021 and I meant to post this review and am just getting around to it. We replaced all the old windows in our home, 20 windows, with Jon's Windows. Our home is old, built in the forties, had all the original windows still and I think 2/20 still worked and the rest were all open with air gaps from 1/2" - 2" and they were all single pane. Our experience could not have been better. We replaced all the windows with Milgard, dual pane, energy efficient windows. They were kind, attentive, communicative, and helpful every step of the way. I could not have asked or hoped for a better experience. They told us about the wait time, 2-3 months, and came out and measured everything twice. Once on the initial quote and after we signed the contract they came again just to make sure it was all accurate and done right. On the install they finished quicker than the time frame they gave us, everything was immaculate, no damage, nothing broken, and the new windows have made such a quality of life difference we wish we could've done it sooner. 2 windows in my office needed to be replaced to make them more efficient. After a quick search on Yelp, I called Jon. He arrived the next day to measure and recommend which windows would best solve my problem within my budget. It took a while for the windows to arrive due to supply chain issues but he kept me up to date on their ETA. When his crew arrived, they were on time, clean and very thoughtful. The foreman Julio went way out of his way to fix a problem with my window trim that was already cut and painted but wouldn't fit once the window was installed. After realizing it was completely my mistake for not measuring it correctly, Julio still decided to go to Home Depot and get a new piece of trim to finish the window install 100% while the rest of his crew cleaned up the other window. AMAZING! The windows are a huge upgrade and have a made a big improvement with both temperature and noise.
