Auto Doc provides, hands-down, the best auto service in Houston. Owner Dave Skorka, Chris Conley and their team consistently provide the best customer service you will ever experience. In the 3 years since my husband and I "discovered" them, they have gone out of their way to ensure that our cars are well-cared for. We have used them for huge jobs and tiny problems as well. To them, nothing is unimportant. They answer questions over the phone and keep us informed about work being done every step of the way. Every member of their team is polite, friendly, respectful, and go out of their way to make sure you are satisfied. Recently, I called when my car "locked up" and the ignition wouldn't work. Because I was stuck in a parking garage that wasn't tall enough for the tow truck, Dave Skorka personally drove over to check out the problem and explained what was wrong (it was totally MY ignorance, and the car ended up starting just fine). But he refused to accept payment, even though I was ready to pay him practically anything for bailing me out....LOL! In short, please give them a try. April 2016. This was my first experience with Auto Doc. I asked Chris for an opinion on whether to repair my 2001 Subaru's problems and try to drive it for 2-3 more years, or not. I felt that his and the examining AD mechanic's joint opinion was honest and considered. They said they could repair and guarantee for a limited time the car's known problems but, even with doing the work only as needed, the cost would exceed the car's value and they couldn't predict what else could happen or guarantee the years left in the vehicle. So the "repair & maintain" approach would not be advisable. I felt the $50 charge for their conclusion based on a physical exam of the car within and beyond the context of the dealership's Diagnostic Report ($118), which I showed Chris, was fair. Auto Doc has been working on my 1999 Ford Ranger ever since the warranty expired. They do excellent work. I've never had them fix the "wrong" thing, their diagnostic work is outstanding and in my opinion, the best reason to go here. There is a charge for the diagnostic work but I think it saves you money in the long run. Furthermore, they have a 2 year/24,000 mile warranty on their work - not that I've ever needed to use it! If you like to keep your vehicle in good shape through a combination of preventive maintenance and necessary repairs, this is the place for you. My 17 year old truck still runs like a top and I give them full credit for that. They also treat women with courtesy and respect, I never feel uncomfortable with anyone who works here. read more

As a female, I am always worried that I am going to get screwed when it's time for some auto repair on my 2003 element. Well these guys couldn't have been more honest. I showed up at 9 on a tuesday morning expecting to just make an appointment to bring my car back at a later date. However, they were able to take my car right then, and have it back to me by 5:30 the same night. Before they did any work, they called to tell me what was wrong and what needed to be fixed. They also told me some things could wait if I didn't want to spend all the money at once, which has never happened to me before. Chris is very friendly and walked me through everything. A coupon from AAA originally led me to The Auto Doc. Big city life can get hectic and exhausting, but at The Auto Doc you can relax knowing Dave, Chris and the whole service team will have your back. Specifically, they have mechanical expertise with exceptional diagnostic skill and appreciate the customer's perspective. The location and after-hours drop-off area are convenient, and the cost is appropriate. Friendliness, integrity, honesty, timeliness, competency is unusually easy-going and genuine. $500 for an alternator, $400 for spark plugs, that's just for parts (for a 10 yr old nissan sentra). This place is not going to be cheap and you will wish you went elsewhere. They find one thing wrong and will tell you about 3 or 4 more things to make sure your bill is over $600. Don't bother with these guys if you need basic work done...find a different shop. I just moved to the neighborhood and thought I would try them out so I could walk home after dropping off the car. BAD IDEA!!! Grand total for spark plugs, alternator, and battery $1600 - WTF? I have been going to Auto Doc for 3 years now and have been very pleased with how I am treated. They are honest and do good work, and stand by the work that they do. If there were ever a problem, Dave the owner would make sure it gets fixed. If you don't know a lot about cars, like myself, you need someone like Dave, Chris, and the Auto Doc crew taking care of your vehicles and making sure they are in tip-top shape without the worry that you are being taken to the cleaners with unnecessary repairs. First time to get service at auto doc. Very convenient to my house. Staff is very friendly. I worked with the owner David. Came in for an oil change and left with several additional recommended maintenance items. Total was $387. Not surprised as this is a 2009 with 51,000 miles. Brought the car in after lunch and it was ready when promised. Good communication. All in all a very good first impression and I'll go back. As a sidenote, I used to live in the suburbs where even an oil change included a first rate car wash. Good ole days. read more

The mgr, Chris and his mechanics did a superb job checking my car and fixing it. They are Triple AAA Garage for car repairs. Honest and quite friendly. A place to go to for all your car service needs. Clean shop, they work fast and efficiently, finally after living in Houston, TX for 7.5 years found a great garage. My car is a 2001 Buick LeSabre. I have a project car that I sent to the Auto Doc that I have been having trouble with for about a year now. Since I live in CA and they are in TX, is was easier to have them work on the car while I was working. Within 1 week they solved a huge electrical problem that i was having on my 68 Cadillac and they also found an additional leak in the exhaust system. AAA recommended this shop to replace the battery on our daughter's car. (We'd already spent hours at AutoZone, and they disappointed us, and only tried to sell us a new battery.) Auto Doc exceeded our expectations. Recharged the battery and tested the electrical system as a free service. They checked what other services were recommended at this point, but no hard sell.
