I got my emissions test done here and it was quick and affordable. I did wait a few minutes to be attended but then realized that I had to get out of my car and go into the small office to let them know, that could probably be more obvious. The waiting area is tiny so if you're getting your car serviced and expect a longer wait time, it's probably best to have a ride back home ready. read more

Fair and transparent pricing, and quick work! I went in for routine maintenance on my Avalon that I avoided for way too long. Called and got a quote first for new brake pads (I think it was $185 but can't remember for sure) and then got a quote for brake pads and rotors, which was $450 including labor. But it turns out I put it off for too long and also needed new calipers. He lifted my car up and showed me how they were leaking brake fluid. And this didn't surprise me because I could feel my car was no longer braking. He finished everything during my work day and only charged $1,000. Ryle is among the top three mechanics I have ever used and had by far the fastest turnaround of them all. I can't recommend this guy enough! read more

Been coming here for 3 years and still recommend this spot. I've never had to wait to get in, I'm usually in and out in less than 15 minutes (vehicle inspections) and the owner is always friendly. If you need a mechanic near DTHTX, this is (still) the spot. read more

They weren't very prompt in providing updates. I paid $150 for a diagnostic test, only to discover that they don't work with my car warranty. As a result, I had to cover an additional towing fee adding to the mounting frustration of the situation. read more

I love Ryle's. He has always been kind, knowledgeable, and open about the condition of my car and the costs of needed repairs. He freely tells me what repairs I need and what repairs I may need/want to do in the future for the health of my vehicle, regardless of whether I choose him to do the work. I have never felt pressured here, or been made to feel bad about the condition of my older 2010 RAV4, or my even older 2003 CRV that he also worked on. I've had my air conditioning repaired, a starter replaced, an alternator replaced, and plenty of free information and advice. I am going in now for a transmission service to have the fluid changed and he told me that I may need the transmission filter replaced. That makes absolute sense to me since it's never been replaced before. A few weeks ago I had stopped by one of those ubiquitous transmission service places just to have the transmission fluid changed. But before they even LOOKED at my car they told me I probably would have to have my transmission replaced. What?!?! Such a scam those places. So I called Ryle, which is what I should have done in the first place! He even offered to look at it today. I love this guy. So, if you need a reliable and talented mechanic, one that you can feel comfortable with, and one that makes you believe that honest men and quality work can still be found, and for a reasonable price, then come talk to Ryle. read more

I needed to get the new Texas Emissions Test done on my car. I called Ryle on the phone to see if he had any time to do it. He told me to come right away and I was done in less than 10 minutes! I will definitely come here again. read more

Ryle was fantastic. Great fair pricing, friendly, and have honest advice on how best to maintain our vehicle. Yelp said they are open at 8:00 on a Saturday - we needed an urgent oil change before a trip. He didn't open until 9:00, changed hours, but took my call and rushed to the shop to get me in and out super fast. I probably won't be going anywhere else now. read more

My new honest mechanic! The check engine light on my car was on and thus wouldn't be able to pass state inspection. I first went to Montrose Automotive Center who charged me more than $100 for a diagnostic and then proceeded to tell me I would need a new catalytic converter and would cost me over $1300. The person I had to talk to was very sales oriented and seemed straight out of a dealership. I didn't trust them so I took my car here to Ryle's for a second opinion. Ryle's gave me a free diagnostic check, fixed my check engine light issue, did my state inspection, and replaced a hose, all for only $150. In fact, Ryle's tried to charge me only $125 but I insisted on increasing it to $150 due to the quality and value of the service. If you are looking for an honest, trustworthy mechanic who does not unnecessarily upsell you, then Ryle's is your place. read more

Very good auto care service! The owners here are honest and good people. Worked very quickly to get my oil changed and car inspected. Highly recommend to anyone in the area! read more

My car is old and I really needed my wheel bearings replaced. Another shop told me it would cost way too much, and on top of that it would take two days to fix. I called this shop the same day to get a quote and was given a much more reasonable price. I took it in the next day and got it back the same day. Service was fast and friendly. I only saw the one gentleman working there so he's a busy man but he does a great job. If you need anything done to your car, have him take a look! read more

Great service at a fair price. I didn't feel pressured and received honest feedback on my requested service and other recommendations that I received from the dealership. I love an honest business so I'll definitely return anytime I need repairs. read more

I came to Ryle's on a Saturday morning needing help as my check engine light came on and I was leaving for a long road trip the next day. They said they quickly diagnosed the problem made some calls to get the parts needed and had my car done in a few hours. I was grateful for how fast and efficient they were and the price was no outrageous. read more

Let's start with the good. None! If we want a silver lining the issue I went in there for is no longer an issue but I have no true idea of what it was. I went in to check to see why my back break lights stayed illuminated and did not turn off. When I walked in he was sitting down in the garage eating and told me he cannot stop eating to right now to help me or even take my name and number for me to leave my car. He told me to wait for him to finish and he would let me know when he was ready. Normally I would have left completely but I did not have the time to take my car all over Houston and the reviews here seemed to be really good so I waited. Once his royal highness was finished with his meal he took my car key and phone number in 30 seconds and I was on my way home in an uber. He could have done that 25 minutes before that. When he called me to tell me what the issue was I did not understand what he was telling me. I also told him that I was a little hard of hearing so I was having trouble making out the issue so I asked if he could text me. He told me he doesnt have time to do that. He also told me and I quote "If you do not understand what I am telling you then thats your problem not mine." I sincerely told him I did not mind paying for the service but I just wanted to understand what needed to be fixed and why. I feel like that is not too much to ask if I am going to pay for a service. He once again reminded me that it is not his problem it is mine. Due to the fact that I had to go to a dinner and also did not want the problem to worsen I just let him fix it. I picked up the car today and he told me again he only knows how to tell me whats wrong and how much it costs and that it is not his problem that I do understand! So I paid the balance and left. I did not converse with him at all or try to explain my frustration or ask for any other explanation. I just paid and left. So I caution you to be very very cautious when visiting this shop. Honestly I would try to avoid it at all costs if other options are available. The gentleman there are rude and there is zero transparency. I have no idea how the reviews are so high with this level of terrible customer service. Please RUN not WALK away from this place! Run as fast as you can! One of the worse experiences of going to a mechanic and that's saying a lot! read more

WOW. Great service. I dropped my car off on a Friday at 4p. Requested to change spark plugs and one ignition coil on my V6 engine. I come here to do inspections on all my cars. They're super fast, hardly any wait time at all. Very professional and have you in and out in no time. If you pay cash it's cheaper than using a card. The owner recognizes me every year even though I only come in once a year for inspections. Very friendly and loved to talk cars! I also got my oil changed here as well. Very reliable service! I brought in my own oil and filter since there was a deal going on at Autozone. I was only charged labor. In and out in a jiffy! read more

Friendly staff, quality work, and great pricing! I highly recommend this autoshop to anyone with vehicular troubles!

The splash guard cover under my car had somehow gotten loose and fell and was scraping on the floor when I drove. I brought my car in to Ryle's and was able to get the cover fixed and my oil changed under 30 minutes. Small family business with honest employees and they have definitely earned my business in Houston. read more

Ryle is really nice. I've been here for an oil change a couple of times and didn't have an issue. I brought my jeep in on a different occasion for an oil leak and had some trouble getting the work done. Ryle could not locate the leak initially, which turned out to be hard to find, but when I brought back a complete diagnostic report from the dealership he said he still needed more information on which exact parts to buy, etc. It seemed as though he didn't have any experience with the specific issue I was having, and while I would've been ok with him just saying that the fact that he told me to ask the dealership those exact questions just gave me a bad vibe. He also mentioned that he will google info on car problems and I should check the forums to see if there was any info there. I wasn't too thrilled about having to do the leg work on a car problem that I brought to a mechanic. I'll just keep to the oil changes going forward read more

Came to support a small business but when I arrived it seemed like it was only one worker. I waited for about an hour to get a oil change and never got an update on how long it will be until my turn. Someone came up to the spot and he took them in before me. Ended up going down to take 5 and they got me in and out within 20 mins. Will try again next time maybe call before coming to make sure you don't waste your gas just parked there. read more

My daughter's key got stuck in the ignition - believe that?? No matter how hard she tried she couldn't get it out. A locksmith came to her house and even roadside assistance could not get the key out of the ignition. She is on a budget and petrified of what it would cost to get this taken care of at a dealership. Yelp never fails me :) I went on and found Ryle's and based on the reviews I gave them a call. It was a bit difficult to understand him on the phone but he said no problem bring it over so she took it there and left it for a day. Yup, HE GOT THE KEY OUT !! Super nice people and he charged her much less than what the dealer would have charged her. As a mom I feel so fortunate to have found Ryle's Complete Auto Care for my daughter. I know that they will take care of her car as they are honest and ethical. read more

I had a great experience with Ryle's complete Autocare. My 2018 Nissan Rogue was blowing hot air which isn't great for September in Houston. I had Firestone on Washington look at it and they said I would need a new AC condenser and it was going to be around $1000. I called a few places Montrose Automotive wanted about the same ($500 for part, 330 labor, 280, evac charge). Benson's in Webster quoted lower (around $750) but they couldn't get me in for atleast a week. A few others either wouldn't quote over the phone or didn't call me back. Ryle's was able to get me in right away. I called ahead of time and they said no problem. It is supposed to be a 3 or 4 hour job and they only took 3-4 hours. I dropped it off at 1:30 and had it back by 5 the same day. I ended up paying $580 for the AC Condenser (550 + $30 in Freon). This is a quick, efficient, and inexpensive small business and I will definitely check with them next time I have car trouble. Thanks! read more

Five star service! I had a serious car issue and found Ryle during a quick Yelp search. I called to confirm the hours for Saturday and drove my car right to him. He was able to determine my car problem within 10 minutes and got to work. He gave a me quote and I feel like it was the best price to fix my brake caliper. He even offered to buy my lunch while I waited. I eventually left and he called me same day letting me know my car was ready. He's filled my tires a few times for me when I'm low. Very bad service from this place. Went in for an oil change and he replaces a little gasket where the oil filter go's. It wasn't leaking. Went back an had my catalectic converter replaced and the lower pipe cleaned out where the pieces from the old one had clogged it. Car had low power. One week later the pipe clogged again. Low power. Took it to him and he refused to stand by his work and do it right. Test drives it and says he needs to service my transmission for $275. and that might not fix it. Took it to another place and they removed the debris and it's running great. Ryle's, total bandits this place. read more

I scheduled an appointment the day before at 10am to change oil, brake rotors and brake fluid. I received a call at 2pm and thought the car is ready, but the mechanic just wanted to confirm what kind of job the needs. I explained again oil, rotors, pads and fluid. I was told the car will be ready in another 2hr and the total is $300 (because I'm a nice guys) which is good price for oil change and brakes (my own parts). This is my only one car and the reason I scheduled 10am appointment to have time to do my errands this day. They promised to finish faster. However it's car repair and you never know how it will go. I showed up without a call in 2.5 hr. Oil was changed Rotors and pads were changed. Brake fluid wasn't, because "it's too expensive and you need two liters of fluid, because you have a lot in the pump‍. But please let me decide to change or not change something. Instead of changing this fluid, they mixed dot3 and dot4(was in the system already). " You can put DOT 4 in place of Dot 3 but not the other way around. " And the price was still the same. They charge $180 to replace your own rotors and pods. Before I was told $120. Not professional at all read more

On my way to work my engine started smoking and I had to pull over. I had some sort of coolant leak and driving it any further was not an option. I called for a tow and quickly googled for a mechanic with semi-decent reviews that wasn't more then 20 minutes away. I rolled the dice on Ryle's and I'm glad I did. Fair rates. Straight forward service. Good work. My car is old and has well over 200,000 miles on it. Almost anywhere I take it i'm subjected to an ever rotating long list of things that I need to (but don't really NEED to) have done to it. I told Ryle I just needed the car running and that's what he did. No spiel. No bullshit. Just here's the problem, here's the total to fix it, i'll have it done in three hours. And then my car was ready in three hours. If I lived closer I would come here all the time. Highly recommend this place to anyone in the area. read more

Ryle has been taking care of me for all my mechanical needs. This guy will go out of his way to find you a real deal and enabling you to spend less. I could've gone to a Mercedes dealership to service my car, but he serviced it for half the price.
