I spent over $1300.00 including inspection. At time of repair the owner was very accommodating. They even dropped me off home. I brought the vehicle back in because Jackson Nissan had done an inspection and ALL the items I had paid to have repaired showed codes. Much to my surprise Josh said I would have to pay him $130.00 just to recheck what he had repaired. Josh also added that I had said the same thing about Heights Automotive, and sounds like a pattern. Well, I have know idea what he meant and didn't stay around to ask. He did not offer to repair my car. I am sooh disappointed in his response. I have scheduled a diagnostic $135 for tomorrow at 8:00AM. Hopefully, this can be resolved. Maybe he was just having a bad day. I'm honestly really upset about having to change this review. I thought I FINALLY found a reputable place to take my vehicles but once again, let down massively. First car I had taken a couple of times and one of those times they replaced the AC belt, it has been squeaking since they replaced it. I called to tell them about it the following day and we decided to get them to look at it next time I took it in. Of course I forgot about when that time came (you unfortunately get used to noises in the car) and remembered while driving home, to which I called to remind them about it. The third time I brought it in I also brought in another vehicle for an oil change and over all check up since I just received the vehicle from a relative and it was starting to shake at certain speeds. The first cars AC belt was ignored again, still squeaking to this day but now the added bonus of the compressor is now failing. The second car I was quoted over $2,000 for two items plus labor to stop the shaking. I got a second opinion, who said getting new tires put on and an alignment would fix the problem. Guess what? I listened to the second opinion and the car runs great, no issues since. Silver lining here is that HOPEFULLY I found a good place now. E & E wasn't it. read more

Of the 20-30 experiences with E&E, have all of them been perfect? No, there's been a miscue or two. But what sets owners Aldo & Edgar apart is that they will spend the time to get things right, and keep attuned to what is important to you -- do you want OEM or used parts? Want quick and cheap or Rolls Royce quality? They run a very tight ship, keeping their costs down so they can pass on the savings to clients, but that also sometimes means you may not always be able to get them on the phone immediately. A small price too pay for quality service and attention to detail. If you need an inspection or oil change or some other quick job, the Alabama Ice House is literally across the street, with one of the best taco trucks in central Houston. Really glad I found this shop! Even though it is a small neighborhood place, they have gotten me in and out in the same day, both times I have had work done. They always answer any questions I have and never seem pushy or out to get me. I had a headlight that I couldn't get properly diagnosed at other shops and E & E recommended changing the ballast. They told me this was a simple fix and they had no problem letting me handle it on my own with only paying the diagnostic fee. Have since had no issues, thanks to them for pointing it out to me. Pretty reliable mechanic shop. I was having trouble with my truck leaking coolant and I or my husband couldn't not pinpoint the leak. Woke up early one morning and dropped the truck off, told them the problems, and they call with a diagnosis in about 2 hours. We gave them the ok to fix it, which only took a day. This was 1 month ago, so I waited to write a review to see if the leak returns. I can that now that it is FIXED! I have not seen anymore coolant leaking. I recommend these guys if you want the job done right, in a timely manner. Price range is a bit expensive, but I was to in a rush to compare prices. I mostly based it off past reviews. Yesterday was my first time using E&E, we both thought I had a bad starter since my battery seemed ok. They couldn't get it replaced until this morning, but before they did so they thought they'd check the battery again after sitting overnight in their garage. Sure enough, the battery wasn't holding a charge...instead of a bill for $540 to replace the starter (Infiniti), they're putting in a battery for $130. Great service! Not there to soak you or just go for the most expensive repair...these guys really care to do it right. I can't recommend them highly enough! read more

I had a minor accident earlier this year that involved a fancy SUV running a stop sign and thus injuring my wee, beloved V-Dub. The SUV-er admitted fault and her insurance company kindly estimated the damage and I was promptly issued a check. (Thank you Allstate!). Anywho, Erick's was recommended to me by a friend who said they were cheap and fast. My friend was right! When I pulled up I was met quickly and with a once-over was given an estimate within about 5 minutes. Much to my joy, it was just a little less than half of what Allstate had sent me. Yay! I was taken aback by how many cars were there being worked on and wondered if they really would finish the work in the time they allotted for themselves. The place seems overly crowded with injured cars, but I guess that's just a sign of their popularity, right? To my amazement, my car was in fact ready a few days later, as they had promised. AND, not only did they fix the damage from the wreck, they also fixed damage on the mirrors that I had caused myself (hey, my garage is really narrow, people!). A few other nics and dings I created over the years were also buffed out and gone! My car came back looking great, albeit slightly dirty, which is what usually happens at all garages, right? Nothing a little car wash can't fix. No big whoop. I feel like I can read people well, so I have no qualms about saying that I sense these folks are honest folks. There was no haggling or trying to get me to do anything extra to the car just so they can make some extra bucks. I have noticed I only yelp when I'm really really satisfied or really ticked off. In this case, I am VERY happy. After recently having been taken on a ride by my last couple of mechanics, I decided to give Erick's Auto a try again. I used to take my car there periodically when I lived in Montrose, and never had a complaint. Once, they welded my oil pan back together and charged very little as opposed to replacing the whole thing and charging double. They also once put my car on the lift when I had a strange sound coming from my vehicle, and charged NOTHING to screw the plastic cover back on that had come loose. I took my car in a week ago, and they did a GREAT job fixing my car up--it's running better than ever. Also, it was serviced lightning fast (in about 6 hours, they had done a tune-up and replaced the radiator). Prices are fair, and they do a quality job and stand behind their work. I will never cheat on them again. read more

For once, a mechanic that doesn't try to bend you over just because he can! Thank you, Erick's Auto Center! Twice I went to them for emergency tire repair (damn you, Houston construction!), and both times took less than 15 min and cost $10-$15 bucks. They could've charged me three times as much and I wouldn't have known better... It may look sort of ramshackle from the outside, and yes there are cars crammed in their lot and in their garage, but you can lay the usual anxieties to rest when you bring your car here because: * They are going to do an awesome job on your car. * They are not going to try to sell you services you don't need. * They are going to charge you an honest price the first time. Both my vehicles have been here. We've had excellent service at a reasonable price every time. Vehicles were done when they said and the work was done right the first time. I highly recommend them for all your automotive repair needs. This past time was for a steering problem. They could have made us buy both parts but instead replaced only what was worn completely out. I took my car here for a state inspection and when I dropped it off my drivers side automatic window was broken and was not rolling down. It had been broken for about three months and I just had not found time to take it into the dealership. I did not mention to the guys at E & E that it was broken. When I picked my car up several hours later (I work just down the street) it was fixed!!! They did not mention anything about it or charge me for it! DO NOT STEP FOOT INTO THIS SHOP, THEY ARE COMPELET CROOKS AND LIERS. I have been going to this shop for 6 years. I took my car in to have an inspection and one head light changed. Not 5 min. after picking up my car. I left the shop my car was running hot and a/c was not working. I pulled over at a gas station and saw a leak under my car. Within 3 min the car was smoking and fluid was pouring out from the bottom. My husband immediately called them and told them something was wrong. Long story short I had my car taken to a different shop where the discovered the battery was hooked up wrong which intern fried my radiator fan and cracked my radiator. This shop did not take responsibility nor did they offer an discount to fix this problem they had created. This used to be a great shop but has dramatically went down hill. read more

After calling around to price an oil change, the phone manners and explanation at this family operated auto shop for the bill( synthetic blend, middle weight?). Call it intuition , one hour later- done!! I'm from out of state and was looking ahead to a grueling summer road trip. E called me about my filthy air filter, saved it for my inspection, and $16 later ... I was out of there......after lots of conversation, and affirmation from another single woman there. if the mechanics would have done their job correctly they would have caught that I needed a new heater thermostat. Instead they replaced radiator hoses, and let me drive off the lot with a check engine light on. The next couple of days my car was overheating again!!!!! I'm furious. If they would have conducted better test I wouldn't have had to fork out more money to pay for a new coolant reservoir, and possibly not pay for new radiator hoses when they fixed my heater hoses. Paying out almost $163 for a radiator hoses to e and e automotive and having to pay $130 for a new coolant reservoir to an actual trusted mechanic. I could have saved it all if e and e automotive would have initially replaced my my heater thermostat. Maybe after venting this out publicly they will learn to take care of their customers better Instead of letting them drive off with a check engine light on. According to them everything seemed okay . After reading the one star reviews I've noticed that a lot of individuals stated overcharged. I always felt that way as well. read more

I got ripped off at this place. Partially due to my stupidity. I went to get my 2006 Mazda6 car checked for any potential problems before a very long cross country drive (I really asserted that they do a thorough check). I shall explain the sequence of events that followed. A very young guy (possibly 20-21 years of age) who sat at the office took my car, and I waited to hear the verdict. He came back after some time, and told me a few problems with the car. He insisted that I fix certain things, relating to the fuel transmission (which would cost around $250) that very day. I said to him that my intention was to get the car checked for problems, and then decide later on what I would want to fix. He charged me $60 for checking the car, and wanted me to pay in cash because of some issues with electronic transaction. We drove to a nearby ATM on my car, because I wasn't carrying cash then, and at my behest he wrote the fixes he had suggested at the back of a business card. He took the $60 from me, and asked me to drop him off at a nearby parking lot at a distance from the shop, because he needed to pick up a car. He told me multiple times that I should call him at an evening when I intended to bring my car over for the fixes, because he could directly deal with a mechanic, and bypass the shop protocols. I took a round around the block in my car, and noticed him trudging toward the shop, so I doubted the reason he gave me before disembarking from my car. I was quite surprised at the unprofessional behavior, but I should have protested right then, rather than whining here after 2 months. So why am I writing this bad review today? I took the car to a mechanic very close to where I stay. And he literally had half a page full of problems/potential red-flags associated with the vehicle.
