Took my car in after seeing all the good reviews. Needed check engine light repair. They diagnosed need for valve adjustment and replace spark plugs. Charge for this work was 50% higher than quotes that I see on line for this service on my car. 3 days after I picked the car up the check engine light came back on. This time they said that it needed a part only available from Honda at a cost of $722. After having this work done I checked and found that the part, new, was available at numerous places for only $136. read more

Home of the 8 hour oil change. My 2013 Toyota Corolla (quite common car) needed an oil change, decided to take it to Poutous instead of the Toyota Dealership thinking it would be faster than the dealer and better service than the drive through places. I called and set an appointment two days prior. Dropped off my car at 7:45 AM by 4 PM had not heard from them, so I called them and was informed that they did not have the air filter for my car. They changed the oil but could not replace filters. No apology, no discount for next time just an offer to set another appointment to have the air filter replaced at an extra charge. Perhaps they specialize in exotic cars / services, but worthless for simple things like an oil change. read more

I took my car in because the air con was blowing hot air. They called me and told me it would be $900. I told them I would have to wait and would be picking it up. When I got there they were very rude and charged me $68 just to look at it. At no time was I told I would have a diagnostic fee. When I got in my car the stick to the transmission fluid was cut and left in my car. When I asked about it they told me it was like that. In the end it was under warranty and they should have checked on it and been paid for the work. read more

I have used Poutous Auto for some 25 years. Insofar as I am pretty knowledgeable about cars I can say that NEVER have I felt that Poutous was inappropriate or unfair. I really trust them fully with the 11 different cars that I've brought them over the years, including SAAB, Mercury, Volvo, Mercedes, Hyundai, Audi, Buick and Nissan vehicles - diesel and gasoline. I was extremely disappointed by my experience with Poutous Auto Repair. When I wrecked my car, I took it to Poutous Auto Repair on the recommendation of a friend. I should have just sent the car to the dealership. Although the hold message I heard for weeks guaranteed my car would be finished by the promised date, Poutous Auto Repair kept my car for more than two months. During this long wait, I was told that a part had to be shipped in from over seas. Then I was told that my promised part had gone to someone else. Later, I was told that the shipped part was not the correct equipment, and the needed part had been in the U.S. the entire time. But, I would have to wait on the air bag specialist. When I finally got my car, there were numerous, albeit small, defects in the repair -- a slight gap in the bumper, the windshield support cover would not stay on correctly, etc. And even though Poutous Auto Repair had my car for weeks, they still failed to clean the grease from the interior left by the repairmen. I really wanted Poutous Auto Repair to get my recommendation because I believe in small business. But next time, I will take my car to the dealership for repair. read more

This is a trustworthy business that unfortunately has the pleasure of seeing my "classic" car on a regular basis. I was referred to them a year or so ago and have been coming back regularly as problems arise. They don't try to sell you anything above and beyond what you need. They are pretty busy so it's best you make an appointment with them or drop your car off first thing in the morning when they open. If you need a ride to work or home nearby they are always willing to drive you. It's never ideal to have to bring your car in for work and foot a large bill, but if you need major work, this is the place to go. read more

As another Yelper stated, it's best to make an appointment for whatever scheduled service or work you need. They're usually pretty accurate on timeframes for vehicle readiness, pricing is fair, and they always offer to give you a ride to your destination if you choose not to wait. It's rare that I've ever had to wait longer than 35 minutes for an oil change. Try getting in and out of a dealership for the same service in that amount of time! read more

Came out of work last week to be greeted with a flat tire. As a women in 2015 I should be equipped to change a simple tire, but I don't and don't care to learn. Luckily I work across the street from these guys and was preparing tears for them to take pity on me...No need they were AMAZING and so accommodating for my last minute request. (It was pushing 5 o'clock) Andy walked me over filled my tire and we took it back to the shop, and had it fixed within a hour. There was more damage than just the flat and I had been stupidly ignoring it and it finally caught up to me. They were awesome at fixing it and super reasonable, I'm assuming I don't know what car parts cost.
