Interesting place with unconventional ambiance. Only my first visit after hiking at Tallulah Gorge State Park. Ordered their blue cheese burger with a side of avocado and it was fantastic. The sweet potato fries was awesome and it seem to go well with their guacamole. Their sweet tea was also excellent, a great balance of sweetness to keep it refreshing without being overly sweet. Service was terrible, watched every table around us with different servers who had tables that were sat after us get their food and our order still hadn't even been taken. Had to ask a different server to bring us bread after 30 minutes with no food and no sign of our waitress. When food finally arrived it was average at best. I've eaten here twice before with much better results than last night; but, about last night... We first noticed our two menus had the same offerings, but the prices were different - like, a lot different: New Orleans Strip $39 on one menu, $49 on the other. We were informed by the waiter (who truly did his best, we believe) that the more expensive was the current menu because of "all the price increases recently". Not a big deal. My girlfriend ordered the New Orleans Strip, medium, with mashed potatoes and creole shrimp. Upon arrival, her steak was definitely way past medium and the whole entrée looked like it had been plated with a slingshot - from distance. I had the full rack of baby-back ribs with sweet potato fries. The ribs were beyond dried out despite a LOT of sauce applied to them. For the very first time in my life, I told a waiter that the food just was not good - at all - and that we would be trying another restaurant. He apologized, took the food away and disappeared for roughly 15 minutes. When he returned, he said something to the effect of, "I'm glad they were able to talk to you about things." After deciphering the looks on our faces to mean, "Um, what?" he asked, "Did no one come talk to you? Not the owner? Not the manager? Because they told me they did!" He left and returned quickly with a ticket that said $0.00 and said he took care of it himself. To be fair, we did eat salads (which were fairly good) and some sort of bread which had a hardness somewhere between diamond and titanium. That said, we did tip the waiter. We then left - walking right by the owner who said nothing to us on the way out. Unreal. It's a pretty safe bet that we won't be back. read more

The menu is interesting. We chose outdoor seating which was a mistake. The flies were a constant and the road noise a real detractor. The waiter was polite but seemed rather inexperienced. The Attic has an eclectic fun atmosphere from the moment you walk up. Greeted by very friendly staff. The fried green tomatoes were a great way to start off, and the bread was noticeably light and airy. "Like a pillow for your mouth" says my wife. We both had the ribeye with a baked potato and both were tasty. Despite being warned of potential delay from the kitchen we didn't notice any wait time out of the ordinary. This was our second time eating dinner here in the past year. Both times food was excellent. Servers and host were friendly and attentive We sat outside due to Covid concerns. We ate there the first day they opened after two weeks from quarantine. Bad mistake. My wife had a shrimp fettuccine dish that made her violently ill. Once she finished being sick, she felt fine. Dont know why some have left bad reviews about service! Our waitress was fantastic and knew the menu inside out. They take pride in what they do so its understandable that they will take a little longer to prepare good quality food. If you want really fast service then there is a mcdonalds down the road. The steak we ordered was great and cooked exactly how we ordered it. They have a very nice wine list. The beer list was ok since the craft beer is bottle only. The service and food were great and the majority of the menu prices are reasonable. The entrees are a little pricey but i thought the steaks were worth it. Would recommend! read more

Came here on Memorial Day. We sat right down as the place wasn't full. The service was fast and our server was very attentive. It was 6 of us and we all enjoyed our food. I ordered the Reuben which was very good. My wife had the quesadilla which was also very good. Our other friends had the buffalo chicken wraps which they said they enjoyed. So here is the long and short version for you. I hope this helps. Was on the way back from North Georgia and was hungry. My friend and I had been working all day at his lake house. Called ahead because this place is popular. Jay the owner said that they were full all night; however, if we arrived before 5:30 he could have a table for us. We arrived at exactly 5:30 and our table was waiting. However, the best was yet to come. They have changed the menu and it rocks. The icing on the cake was our waitress Annie, she works the weekends. Make sure you ask for her, she keeps you entertained and knows the menu well. She never wrote anything down and what we ordered arrived. Excellent food and service. We are Reuben fanatics so had to try this place after reading reviews. This was one of the best Reuben's we have had. The bread was a perfect thickness and toasted lightly, tender corned beef piled high, I always request extra sauerkraut and it was delivered just the way I ordered it! Not worth the time, money, or drive. The food (2 burgers) was not done how ordered and looked like a 12 year old did the cooking and you're supposed to say "good job" when you really know it wasn't- but don't want to crush his spirit. They apparently ran out of potatoes AND sweet potatoes at 7:30 in the evening and then told us when the food arrived, not before. Fries were over cooked and no ketchup offered or brought when another server was asked. Had to go get it myself from server station. We ate at The Attic for my brothers graduation dinner on a tuesday night around 730 pm. Our server, Sam, seemed too busy to give us very good service. She mixed up a couple of the orders at the table, but other than that it was acceptable. Serveral people at the table were served fries that were very soggy and asked for a replacement. Would love to give this place 5 stars but we just can't as it's to inconsistent- In the future we will stick wit the Simple Pasta it's the best thing on the menu - We tried the steaks but they had no flavor. This place is definitely Big City dining in small-town Georgia! We were visiting the area from out of state for our 25 year wedding anniversary and had hoped to find a nice restaurant for the occasion. The person who booked our cabin rental recommended The Attic and we were very pleasantly surprised with everything from the service to the food. EVERY employee greeted us with a smile and were very friendly throughout our visit. Chelsea's service was superior. They have a nice wine list that includes everything from popular to local wines and our steaks were cooked exactly as we ordered them. The atmosphere and decor were SO comfortable. The funny thing about this place is that they have a dish called the simple pasta, but the pasta is anything but simple. It is a delicious mix of spices, pasta, oil, chicken, and cheese. I couldn't put the pasta down. My fiancee ordered the ribs. They give you a whole rack for $20.... great value!!! AND they were great. We got 2 meals out of them. The summer salad was also great!! We added salmon to it, and it was a nice and light way to eat dinner. Other add ins were chicken and shrimp. Fresh fruit and cheese were also added into the salad. Horrible food. Seems to be pre-frozen and just heated up and assembled. We had burgers and fries. No taste to them at all. The kids even didn't want to eat the french fries. We had a wedding party reservation for only 14 people. Confirmed a week in Advance. They proceeded to say that they were "slammed" and would see what they would do about a table. We then had to help the server put the tables together. We waited over an hour for food with 10 other visible people in the restaurant. I loved the Attic when it was a small hole in the wall by the college. When it moved, it was still good. My husband and I had dinner there last week and I was so disappointed. The price is higher with nothing to show for it. The waiters aprons were dirty, they were not very polite. We had the burger and it was so dry you could not eat it. If you want to charge for a high end restaurant show it please. On top of that they would not honor my gift certificate. It was in date but they said that they had changed owners. I would recommend you not get a gift certificate there, who knows if they will honor it. read more

My wife and I were there on a Sunday at about 12:30 PM. The service was bad. Took almost 15 minutes before a waiter even approached us. The time between ordering and food service averaged 45 minutes. My wife's chicken quesadilla was average. My buffalo chicken wrap was average. The dressing on the Caesar salad was almost too sweet to eat. The waiter dropped the check on the table without asking if we wanted dessert or not. The manager yelled at a waitress in front of the minimal number of patrons in the restaurant. Everyone on sitting outside complained about the swarm of flies everywhere. Not good. read more

Food was very good! The chicken parmesan had a great flavor and was cooked perfectly. The ribs were tender with a good smoke flavor and a good tasting sauce. The texture of the ribs were a little strange, but the flavors were good. The cedar plank salmon was perfectly cooked with perfect amount of seasoning. The hamburgers were cooked exactly how we wanted and were excellent. The portion sizes for all of the entrees were large and we were all full when we left.
