French Omelette with Boursin cheese, caramelized onions and fine herbs
Stephanie C.

The Alderman is tucked away almost like a speakeasy in the Motto hotel and is a perfect dining option when going to the theater. Because it's in a hotel, it offers all meals, but we opted for brunch on a Saturday before a matinee. Luz was an amazing server and gave us time to catch up before ordering. We opted to split the biscuits and then omelet and asparagus to have items that were a little bit lighter. Everything was phenomenal but if I had to choose one dish that stood out, the omelet was really special. We still had time to kill so we waited the 12 minutes for the freshly baked cookies. They were worth the wait and if you can't finish them, take them to go as a snack! Can't wait to go back and try happy hour and the pre-theater menu when I'm on the area next!

The 5 stars is for Francis. Wonderful drink very friendly and real. Enjoyed listening to him and his suggestions. They have a wide selection of bitters. Had coffee in the morning and again very well crafted. Prices are high but it is New York. In the lobby of the Motto hotel.

Pre-fixe menu as of 3/3/26

We went for pre-show dinner at 5 pm and it was the best meal we've had on our vacation! The pre-fixe menu has fantastic options, all delicious, and the staff was super helpful about making sure we got done in time to get to &Juliet (also fantastic) without making us feel rushed at all.

Wonderful bar and restaurant in Times Square area. What at first caught my eye was the bakery/coffee area, but upon further inspection saw there was a bar and restaurant as well. There's also a hotel connected to it; The Motto. The bar tender, Francis, was amazing and got us hooked on his own curated cocktail; The Rocket. The restaurant was also a surprisingly beautiful space with the most delicious Garlic Bread I've ever tasted. The manager, Isabel, was accommodating and gave great menu recommendations. The Alderman will definitely be one of my NY musts.

I went to this restaurant since I stayed in the hotel and I had credit. My party and I ordered the French Omelette and Breakfast Burrito. Both were good when eating, but made my friend and I's stomach hurt the entire day. The food came out pretty quick and I also ordered a vanilla latte which was good. Overall, a good place but don't think I would get the same items.

This is located inside the Motto by Hilton Times Square on the lobby floor. I only visited the bar area along with the coffee bar, and not the restaurant. The bar are is quaint and right next to the check-in area the bar tender was friendly and provided recommendations however didn't offer his name, so I'm unable to provide that. We had a round of drinks and I grabbed a coffee (drip) and pastry the morning of check out. All around nice service and did get a glimpse of the food from the patrons next to us and it looked pretty tasty. Wish I had more time to partake.

The lighting was soft, creating a warm and inviting ambiance, complemented by great music. The food was rich and indulgent--truly decadent.

Stayed at the Motto & decided to check out the in house restaurant. Host was attentive & I decided to sit at the bar & enjoy something light. The bartenders will keep you smiling with their jokes! Great space to wind down from the hustle & bustle of Times Square. Would visit again!

Alderman Café feels more like a grab-and-go spot than a place to sit and relax. The seating is shared with the hotel lobby, so it can get pretty busy and lacks a cozy vibe. The coffee is fine, but nothing particularly memorable. Service was just okay--not especially friendly or quick. It's a convenient option if you're in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it.

Loved my pre-theater dining experience here. Opted for a two starters - the pickled Italian veggies and the everything flatbread and babaganoush, which were both wonderful) and a Jasmine Spritz. For my main, I had a perfectly prepared sea bass which was outstanding and the maitake mushrooms as a side that I loved so much I'd order two of them next go around. Our server Kara was lovely and super informative and the dining room was spacious and stunning. They have a 4 course $45 pre-theater menu that I'm definitely going to go back for since I loved everything I had - Highly recommend

5 cheese plate.

Had a good night cap at this spot in the lobby of Motto. The 5-cheese plate was $29 and was alright for an app for 2 to split. Beers were $10 per can. It is Times Square after all. Service could've been better. It was alright but maybe also find somewhere else!

Super chill, very nice for a casual night with friends. The food was a bit salty but still incredible. I had the cauliflower which was amazing. We accidentally tipped on top of the gratuity. Oh well.

I redeemed 100,000 + Cat 1-7 FNA for our King room. We were upgraded to a King City View Deluxe at checkin. Our room faced the NY Library and it was lovely. We had tickets to see Maybe Happy Ending and the Belasco Theatre was a short 10min walk away. Beautiful musical, highly recommend. Daily breakfast at the restaurant was covered for our family of 5 since both hubby and I are Globalist. We loved the complimentary in room snacks and beverages. Hotel also gifted my MIL a bottle or Prosecco for her birthday. My only complaint is the doorless showers. I also wish they had Nespresso machines and Dyson hair dryers in the regular rooms too. The pull down curtain for the bathroom in the Andaz suite was weird, along with the missing door to the toilet in the king room. Very odd design.

It truly is simultaneously dark but harsh as heck, and putting on makeup is a real adventure because who knows what you're gonna look like when you get outside. We wound up here after a last-minute accommodation change and needed a place to stay for 6 nights. The rooms were clean and relatively spacious. We were out from the crack of dawn till bedtime, so we didn't need many amenities or anything too fancy, and the location is very convenient. The bed is on the firmer side, but the pillows were poofy, good enough. My only real complaint is also the showerless doors. They're awful, especially when they install a rain showerhead on the ceiling that cannot be moved, so every shower is like doing your best to keep more water inside the shower than out. The Byredo Eleventh Hour toiletries were nice. Service at check-in was friendly. The island check-in desk just hanging out in the middle of the lobby is weird... and do the staff have to stand next to that thing all day?! It looks so uncomfortable for them. Hotels in Manhattan aren't cheap to begin with, but this Andaz is definitely not one I'd happily pay $800-1k/night for.

He went above and beyond, answering all my questions and helping me secure a safe and clean location for my daughter to live for the next nine months in NYC. I highly recommend him.

I asked if they have offices there, they said something about only seeing people by appointment. I asked if I could do that, they gave me a number to call. They never answer, always voicemail. They never call back, only email. You are not allowed to view the apartments, nor do they have video viewings. They seem to have the appearance of a respectable company at first, but if you ask for more that emails and for standard photos of the apartments, you might find that they will disappear. The agent I dealt with was very nice at first. She gave me a few links and an application form. The company the application was for has several reviews stating they are reluctant to return security deposits, and they want your card info included in the application. That was not reassuring. If you ask the agent for more reassurance, they might insinuate you're being evasive because you must have dealt with that company before and they rejected you. Absolutely not. This company is evasive and I don't feel they are 100% honest.
