Still love this place. The food is amazing. When I feel like having a cheat day with a great burger, this is where I go. The Diner Burger is juicy and so tasty. Their fries are crispy and well seasoned. Another favorite is the Miracle Dog. Hot dog topped with mac & cheese, sriracha mayo and bacon. They toast the bun too. It is a different and rich hot dog with great toppings! I love their brussel sprout side dish too. Fried sprouts with balsamic dressing and blue cheese all tossed together. I was really hoping to give it a higher score... especially since it was a bar. But... hmm. Parking - I only saw street parking, so have fun parallel parking! I kind of hate this type of parking, but that's just me. In my perfect world, ALL places would have a huge lot or share a humungous parking deck. Service - since I was here with 15-17 other Yelpers, I think we might have overwhelmed the staff. It took awhile to get our orders, food, and drinks. I understand - it's a bar. So, I can't blame them too much, right? Environment - they have lots of TVs. Like... right next to each other - about 5 I think. Which I think is pretty neat. It's nice to see a bar goes the extra mile/cash to buy the bigger TVs. Seating - there were some 2-4 man tables on 1 side (the one with the Kitchen). And I did see as I was walking out they had seating on both sides of the restaurant. So, I'm assuming there are lots of seats! Food - The item that stole the show.... the smoked wings! Nom nom. The sauce as well. Probably one of the best wings I've had in awhile. I love wings, so I order them whenever I can. I definitely recommend ordering these. Get 10. The wings are a little small, so you'll need to scarf down some extra ones. Mac & Cheese- yeah, these tasted like the usual microwaved Mac & Cheese. Watery & bland. I'd order another side item. I saw the Kale Salad - that looked tasty. Chicken Breast Patty Melt - so, my burger had 1 TINY chicken breast in it. And that was cut in half. The bread itself was soggy, way too greasy, and heavily absorbed with cheese. I honestly just ate the chicken a little pieces of bread. :/ Fried Pickles -Another yelper ordered this so I had few bites! I'm pickier when it comes to fried pickles. Another favorite dish I always enjoy. But here - the fried pickles were hardcore stamped with batter. So much that some folks thought they were chicken tenders. I had the same thought in my mind. I mean - if you prefer your fried pickles to be a bit heavier with batter, you'll like this! If it wasn't evident from the captions in my pictures, I was not a big fan of the Albert. The Albert is a restaurant bar located on Austin Ave. with full service tables in the back and a semi open kitchen. Even though they lost our reservation, the hostess was able to quickly seat us at their longest table. There are about 4 32" (this is a rough estimate) TVs posted up. There may or may not have been some in the bar area. The details eludes me. They have s small parking lot they share with a few other businesses but there is plenty of street parking as well. There is a lot next door but DO NOT PARK THERE, they will boot you, I asked. The Albert seems to have a decent beer/wine/spirits menu, given that they are a bar. They had a selection of 5 or 6 beers on tap and plenty bottled beers. The restrooms are single stall adjacent to the bar, pretty clean for a bar. Food! What we came here for, right? The Diner Burger at the Albert made it on CL's top 20 burgers coming in at number 6. I will be honest, everyone that ordered this raved about it saying it was comparable to H&F. To me, if one burger is good, all the burgers should be good. They should all be prepared the same way. However, I was severely underwhelmed by the Albert Burger. The burger is served with 2 thin patties with pimento cheese, bacon, and onions (I opted out of the onions). The burger was pretty dry overall, despite having pimento cheese. The patties were thin so they're pretty much cooked to medium well/well done. I prefer my burgers medium rare/medium. The patty melt looked okay and I thought the brisket was actually really good. The meat was much juicer than the burger. Another underwhelming thing about the menu were the sides. Everything seemed to be picked up premade from the grocery store. The fries tasted like frozen Ore Ida fries. The famous bacon cream corn, Green Giant canned corn heated up. There was debate about the Mac and cheese tasting like Easy Mac. I, personally, thought it was a step above the powdered cheese packet. The one winner for me were the baked beans. They reminded me of Chinese soybeans -- a little drier but packed some heat. Two other floating dishes were the smoked wings and chili. Skip the chili, and maybe get the wings. I thought the wings did have a nice smoky flavor. Not the best wings, but they were fine. This chili was no where in my realm of chili. It was really thick, like a paste and super salty. TLDR; Go somewhere else. read more

Came here with a group of Yelpers to try out some burgers. The Albert's Diner Burger is #6 on the Atlanta Magazine's Top Burger List. Although I'm giving this place a 3 overall, their Diner Burger gets a 4.5 rating alone. But before we get to the burger, let's talk appetizers. I tried the chili, smoked wings, and fried pickles. The chili apparently won 3rd place at Atlanta's Chomp & Stomp chili competition which is why i got it. Really questioning the judges that gave this chili 3rd place out of a couple of dozen restaurants that participate in the competition. The chili was really thick and looked like a paste. The smoked wings were decent, but nothing special here. The fried pickles were the best outta the 3; really enjoyed the batter they were fried in Now for the Diner Burger. It's two thin patties with two pieces of american cheese melted on top. They add raw red onion, mustard, mayo, and pickles. Pretty standard burger, but the flavor was amazing. All of the toppings come together to make something really special. I enjoyed every bite. I added a little ketchup, and it was even better. The burger is very similar to the burger at Holeman & Finch. Not quite as good, but very close. This is probably tied for 3rd on my personal Atlanta Metro Burger List (1st being H&F, 2nd Red Eyed Mule, & 3rd General Muir) It comes with a side of fries which my friend describes as Ore Ida frozen fries from the grocery store. I guess I agree. Nothing too special. I tried a friend's baked beans and they were much better than fries. They were thick and had a nice spicy kick. Other notes, this place is pretty much a bar. They have a decent selection of bottled bears. Only a few on tap. Plenty of TVs through out. I really enjoyed the decor. Overall I'll give this place a 3. The only thing that was good was the Diner Burger and I highly recommend coming here to try it out if you're a burger fan. read more

Last night a friend took me to Inman Park for a book signing party by one of his art school buddies. I don't make it back to this side of town often enough since I moved from the Highlands, so it was a fun change of scenery. After the book thingy, we needed a nosh and drinks and debated all the places right around us. Pleasantly, we ended up both having a first-time experience at the Albert. It's just a cool place! I think my favorite thing is that there are pics of everyone from Albert Einstein to Fat Albert on the walls. The menu is extensive and many things looked tempting like the hangar steak sandwich and the wings that others have reviewed. We ended up just getting an app, the fried green tomato (four large slices of lightly fried tomato with a delicious aioli and basil) and thoroughly enjoyed it. Our server was great and everyone around us seemed to be having a good time. I thought it was cool, too, when I noticed that all kids' meals (just $4.95) come with a cupcake! Definitely a spot I'll happily return to when nearby. Oh, and for parking there's street, or at certain times you can park in the lot around the corner where Victory Sandwich is. read more

YAY Inman Park restaurant week :) And the Albert has a $15 menu with some great looking options. I read some Yelp reviews that the place allows smoking, so I was a bit anxious about that before coming in. Luckily, I found out the bar is non-smoking until 10pm, so it was fine for dinner. Phew! The restaurant week menu allowed you to choose an appetizer, entree and dessert for $15, so I ordered the Crispy Grit Cake, Smoke Salmon Steak, and Tres Leches Cornbread Cake. CRISPY GRIT CAKE This was AMAZING. There was a pretty decent size serving of the grit cake in a flavorful mushroom sautee sauce. I was very pleased with the flavor, and it has similar flavors to the local mushroom risotto entree. SMOKE SALMON STEAK This salmon was cooked really well in the middle where it isn't too dry and not too raw. However, the outside was a bit too crispy. It came with a side of sweet potato fries, but they were the most delicate and non-substantial french fries I have ever eaten. The horseradish cream sauce tasted a bit smokey too, but it could have used a bit of lemon to counter the creaminess. TRES LECHES CORN CAKE I have to be honest, I pretty much chose The Albert for restaurant week because I saw this on the menu. However, when I tried it after they brought it out, I just felt... confused. Tres leches cake is usually really moist and sweet, but the corn bread made it dry and a bit too salty to be a dessert. Overall, I wasn't a fan, but I'll give it points for being creative. My best friend in middle school was named Albert. Random note. I love this joint. I live a stone's throw from P'cheen yet I risk the safety of my body by walking all the way to The Albert, and back, even at night (I guess I should not do this after some probable stalker creep reads this) I love their food. I am trying to give up french fries so their green beans appz is a great alternative. THE BEST MO-FO- **ING Bloody Mary in TOWN. Not only is it absurdly (sp?) delicious, it is BEAUTIFUL. I take a photo each time I come in. (can I upload it's pic on here?) I get drunk on purpose on Saturday nights so I have a valid reason to get dressed in a mu-mu, walk out the door bra less and unshaven, sprting last night's makeup, and stumble in there with my sunglasses at 11:59 AM on Sunday mornings. John the Bartender is totally awesome. I usually have a routine of chipotle after a hangover but this Sunday I gave in to breakfast here and loved it. I showed up last evening with my new little friend Amy (who has an amazing new fake rack) and we enjoyed the late crowd. I think the crowd also enjoyed her and the twins. I come here with friends but I also stop in by myself for a quick bite and drink. Either way, always leave happy. During the day, there's always a place to sit. At night, it gets pretty busy. Brunch can get busy as well but there's still usually a place to sit. I eat pretty healthy so here are the things I usually get: SMOKED WINGS, Kale salad, BEER, chili, bloody mary (brunch). I enjoyed the Albert. It is your basic bar: a long bar in the main room, booths int he main room, tables in the back room, walls covered by TV screens, nice atmosphere. The food is absolutely ok. But the food is secondary to the bar. Hamburgers, wings,boiled peanuts, fried pickles, patty melt, salads. The food is edible but you wouldn't go to the Albert for the food. It was just another typical NFL Sunday, I wanted to catch the 8:30 game and per usual I was craving wings. However, our options were quite limited considering the time and hurricane Irma slowly approaching. Thankfully, The Albert was able to fulfill both of my needs. To be honest, I probably would have never ventured into this is establishment if it wasn't for its listing as the #6 wing in all of Atlanta per vol. 47 of Creative Loafing. Let's just say the wings are on list for a reason! I ordered a 20 piece with a side of collard greens. And I split the order to 10 ranch dry rub and 10 of their smoked. They were accompanied with blue cheese and the house BBQ sauce, respectively. I was very dissatisfied with the collard greens. I am sure they have better side options but these definitely are not one of them. The ranch dry rub wings were subpar as well, don't get me wrong they were good, but they were no where near great. I would have preferred them with more of rub not just sprinkled seasoning. The smoked wings on the other hand, woah baby, this is what got them at the #6 spot and in my opinion could have been even higher on the list. The outside was crisp while the inside was juicy and tender. The house BBQ sauce was different to say the least, a bit of a sweet and tangy kick, that I found to be very useful. The atmosphere was hip and trendy and they have several tvs with a bar. Our waiter, Dylan, wasn't anything spectacular it wasn't until he brought the check that we got our first refills on water. I have had very different experiences at The Albert. The first time I went was during Inman Park Restaurant week, and I have to say their food was very spectacular. I had some really good scallops. However, every time I've gone since that occasion has been a slight downhill slope. It seems like The Albert might have an identity disorder and is trying to be several different things at once: a bakery, a nice restaurant, a bar for hipsters. That would all be fine... except for the horrible service I've received the previous 5 times I've gone before I gave up on the place. I do recommend their burgers though. But don't try the BBQ tacos. I'm picky about which bars I like to hang out in, mostly because I don't like it when it is too loud or too packed. I like a well mixed drink and a good selection of beers (read Cider). Also, you have to be sure that the drinks are not over priced and the service is great. This isn't too much to ask, is it? The Albert is the spot. Good food, good drinks, great service (ask for Cliff, but quick before he moves out of state), and my bill is always reasonable. The stock Strongbow (my cider of choice), mix a strong drink and bring it quickly and always right. You must try the spicy boiled peanuts - great bar snick to have with your beer or your shots of Fireball. read more

This pub in Inman Park is an amazing spot. It has a fantastic food and drink menu. I sat at the bar and was served by Hannah and Liz. They were both great and so on point with service and providing food and drink options. I had the Buffalo egg rolls and the Cobb salad that were both really tasty. It seems this is one of the hot spots in Atlanta for both good food and exceptional service. They have a great outdoor spot and lots of options for indoor seating with booths and bar. read more

Great neighborhood bar. There is free parking in the back. The burger is fantastic but the real show stealer is the Kale salad. Next time, my plan is to get the salad as my entree. Made my 1st visit last month after passing by on many occasions. I had taken an Uber to Inman Park earlier in the evening, but wasn't quite ready to head home so I stopped in. Interior wasn't particularly special, but was good enough for a beer and/or whiskey. I was able to snag a seat at the bar. My bartender/server seemed cool (can't remember his name). I chose a draft beer from the fairly wide selection, and also had a "shorty" of Tully. I'd heard that the food was good, and I was noticed that my neighbors seemed to be enjoying their dishes. I ordered some wings to give 'em a shot. I was somewhat distracted with talking to my new friends, but after a while I noticed that some folks that came in after me were getting their food orders. I brought this to my servers attention, and he acknowledged that an error was made. I kinda thought that they should have comped the wings as it ended up taking way too much of my time, but maybe I should be happy that they reduced the price? Anyway, other that that unfortunate issue my first visit was ok. I'll consider going back, but I must admit that I was not happy with the process of getting my food order. read more

Came here yesterday with a fellow foodie friend who suggested it. I got "the Diner burger" while my friend for their "Albert burger" ( I believe, I can't exactly remember the name). I also ordered a side of kale salad. Food: The food was good! The burger came with two things patties, bacon, onion, and cheese. It was pretty straightforward. Great flavor and worth the trip down! Atmosphere: I like the atmosphere. Wasn't too busy for a Thursday night. The music had a great vibe. I do believe there's a bar side and a restaurant side, but I am not sure which is which. I came here this week for ATL Burger Week, because...$5 burgers. I had also heard very positive things about The Albert, so I was excited to try their burger, and I must say, it did not disappoint. Delicious single patty burger with mac and cheese, sriracha mayonnaise, and bacon jam. Every bite was so savory and packed with flavor. I only wish I ordered another burger! But that probably wouldn't have been the wisest of decisions, health-wise... Our table also ordered the sides plate, where you can get a sampler of three sides for $10. We got the fries, bacon creamed corn, and the fried brussels sprouts. The fries were so hot and crispy - so addicting! The bacon creamed corn was also super tasty, but I only wish there was more bacon in it. The fried brussels sprouts was one of their specials, and I'm glad we got to try it! The fried chicken sandwich, burgers and sautéed green beans are the play if you ask me but I am not a barbecue person. If you're looking for a terrific local watering hole with delicious flavors, this is your place. Best neighborhood restaurant / bar in Inman Park. Been coming here for 8+ years and though the names/ regulars / chefs and menus have changed over time... they consistently prove that they care about their neighbors and provide the best "getaway" from all that 2020 and beyond have brought. Special kudos to Tia ( owner) and her long time staff like Kaitlin, Travis and Aline for providing great service, safety and sassy smiles during these trying times. Not sure how we'd have gotten through the last few years without them. For the few "tourist" reviews stating that any staff at this bar acted subpar in anyway... get over yourself. Try running an establishment and holding your head high 100% of the time. Folks have a bad day once in awhile... patrons should have patience and thanks that these people continue to show up day after day to keep patrons happy. Went for an late afternoon lunch with my toddler because I really wanted to try the burger and was hoping it would be slower business and the kid wouldn't bother anyone then. The burger is as good as the reviews that rave about it. I went with the Diner Burger and fries. Burger was awesome and the fries were on point. Right amount of crisp and salt. I was also surprised that since its more of a bar scene, they are welcoming to kids. They have a high chair and kids menu. My kid also loved his Kids Burger. Beers are cheap and cold, service is attentive and nice, TVs are on sports. Can't wait to go back next week! read more

This was great! Eventide Kolsch + The Western burger + Smoked wings = An awesome dinner! I wasn't expecting to be wowed due to the reviews I read before going but, WOW! Upset that I didn't take a pic before or during the meal but I just kept eating until I came up for Air. The burger looked a lot better than the pics online and the bacon was large and crispy. THIS WAS A JUICY ASS BURGER! The fries were perfectly salted and crisp. I split the wings with the wife (Did the 5 for 7 deal) and immediately regretted it after my first bite. They were almost perfect. Seasoning was just right. Meat could've been a tad juicier but if that's how it always comes then I'll continue to order it. Overall, this was a surprising experience due to the previous reviews. It could've been b/c it was a Thursday night but service was excellent and he answered all our questions without hesitation. We could've parked behind the restaurant but we thought it was for the market store. Ended up in the parking deck and paying 6 and some change for under 2 hrs. Loved it. Where to begin. We will start with service, it was mediocre. Unenthusiastic is the only word I can use... but honestly who is enthusiastic to work anymore?! Drinks... I got a cocktail off the menu which was amazing the first time I ordered it. Ordered another one because I was so impressed. Second one was insanely different. Extremely disappointing honestly. We ordered a pretzel, after 10 mins of waiting the server told us they were out of it. So we ordered Buffalo egg rolls.... This was the best thang we ordered by far. I got a turkey burger and onion rings. This is where everything went down hill. Burger was mush. Literal mush. Did not hold together well at all and was the consistency of wet dog food. Onion rings were so lightly cooked they held every bit of grease they touched. I had a bite of both and literally pushed my plate to the edge. Not once was asked if I wanted a box or if anything was wrong. When we entered there was a football game on the sound. That was at a completely fine volume level. After it went off some metal music came on so loud you couldn't hear each other talk over the booth table. All in all we paid over $100 for an below average lunch and were extreme disappointed. Oh I ALMOST forgot.... The amount of fruit flies in the building was insane! We were sitting in a booth by the bar being down right attacked the entire time. We were looking for a place to watch the finals of the World Cup without waiting in a line and over paying for food and drinks. The Albert was our place of refuge and the bartender took excellent care of us. He was a champ even when he got slammed with a full bar of hungry soccer fans on a Sunday morning. The coffee was hot, fresh, and bottomless. That's something I pay attention to everywhere I go and I was not disappointed. The Pulled Pork Hash was excellent. I knew I ordered the right thing after it flew in during a yellow card foul and I took a bite. My anger at a bad call was immediately assuaged by the tangy savory goodness of this plate. Love this place. Local joint, kitchen is open 'til 11 PM and they actually keep the kitchen open until 11. Don't miss the bacon cream corn. The signature menu item is ribs and mine were tough. I was thinking not pre-cooked long enough or cooked too long the second time, but the server said they can't get their normal ribs due to a post 4th of July shortage. The place is cool enough to try without the ribs though. Service was friendly, honest and efficient. + They use Bing cherries in their Manhattans :) love that. read more
