My daughter and I visited Soufflé Bistro & Bar on a Thursday afternoon. The interior is super cute, definitely giving Atlanta vibes! The host was welcoming, and our waiter, Xander, was friendly.
Now, the food!
Fried Green Tomatoes - 5/5
PERFECTION! Crispy, flavorful, and the feta cheese and sauce brought everything together beautifully. No complaints!
Soufflé Rolls - 4/5
Fresh, crispy egg rolls stuffed with mac and cheese, collard greens, and candied yams. Delicious, but the sweetness of the yams overpowered the other flavors a bit.
(Cocktail) Pretty Piggy - 2.5/5
Adorable pig-shaped glass, but this tasted like a melted watermelon Jolly Rancher! Way too sweet, but surprisingly strong!
Duluth Delight Breakfast- Just OK
My daughter wasn't impressed. The scrambled eggs had way too much cheese, leaving them wet and tasting like they'd used sliced sandwich cheese.
French Toast Sandwich - 3.5/5
I originally ordered Cajun chicken pasta, but they were out of chicken. The substitutions didn't work for me, so French toast it was! Delicious, but the sweetness became overwhelming after a while.
(Cocktail) Mystique - 3/5
This $20 cocktail was supposed to have a smoky dry ice presentation. Instead, I got a lime-green drink with no dry ice. Apparently, they were out, but nobody mentioned that BEFORE I ordered. Sir. The drink itself was fine, but nothing special.
Now, the not-so-great stuff...
Our appetizers took 25 minutes, and we had to flag down our waiter just to order entrées. We arrived at 12 PM and left at 1:55 PM. ON A THURSDAY!
They also only offered bottled water. Xander mentioned it was "just a little extra," which turned out to be $5 PER PERSON! No complimentary alternative was offered. So basically, pay $5 or stay thirsty.
Lunch was around $140 for two, including an automatic 18% gratuity (regardless of party size). And AFTER paying, I noticed they'd charged me for the Cajun pasta I NEVER RECEIVED! Thankfully, they reversed it, but CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS!
Also, no cash or tap-to-pay. Bring your physical card!
Overall: 3/5
Would I return? Possibly. The food was good & the atmosphere was cute. But between the long waits, missing cocktail presentation, $5 water, and billing error, the experience didn't quite match the price.
I don't mind paying premium prices, but I expect premium execution.
