My husband and I used both their daycare and boarding services, and I always felt completely comfortable leaving her in their hands, whether it was for the day while we were at work or while we were out of town. That peace of mind means so much when you're trusting someone else with your fur baby. And this is definitely not the kind of place where dogs are just sitting in kennels all day. Our girl would come home so adorably exhausted after daycare that there was absolutely no question she had spent her day playing and having the best time. They even host cute little parties for the pups and do things like costume contests, which I always thought was such a sweet touch. The entire staff is incredible. You can genuinely tell how much they love animals and care about the dogs they look after, and that makes such a difference when you're leaving your pup with someone for hours or even days at a time. I especially want to shout out Cellee. She was always so sweet when I dropped our girl off in the mornings, and it was obvious how much she genuinely loves and cares for these pups. She went above and beyond to make our final goodbye with Rivers Edge so special, and it meant more to us than she probably realizes. We are so grateful to Cellee and the entire Rivers Edge team for taking such amazing care of our girl and giving her a place she was genuinely SO excited to go to. We already miss you guys so much. If we hadn't moved away, she would absolutely still be going.

He's a little guy, so he tends to go downhill quickly if he doesn't get treatment quickly. The vet I typically use said they couldn't see him until 3 days later, even after explaining his symptoms. I didn't want to make my pup suffer that long and I was really concerned because it was getting progressively worse rather quickly. I called local vets. Some weren't taking new patients, some didn't have any openings, some weren't friendly or informative over the phone when I called. I called Lompoc Veterinary Clinic, they could not see him HOWEVER, Lori couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. She was so patient and gave me a long list of other local vets & numbers to try. I was very appreciative of her extra efforts and her caring manner. Not long after my conversation with her she called me back telling me she forgot one other option. She totally went the extra mile and my pet isn't even a patient at this clinic. I'm so grateful to Lori because that phone call made all the difference. I called that last option she gave me and it was EXACTLY what I was looking for. It's VERY rare these days where a business does what they're getting paid to do, even more rare when they're going above and beyond without getting paid for it! I SO appreciate Lori's kindness, thoughtfulness, and her going the extra mile. This is exactly the type of service I would love for my fur baby to receive. So while I have not had the opportunity to visit this clinic, I would not hesitate to recommend them based on the EXCELLENT service I received over the phone by Lori. Very grateful. Thank you !

Some months ago, I needed a last minute boarding option for our dog. I called this clinic and they…read moresaid they had room for our 1 year old, unspayed female. I was told that she would be able to run around outside with the other dogs during the day, with nighttimes spent in a run or kennel. Sounds good. We bring her in and I do what I need to do to hand her over. One of the staff members, the older woman with short hair, walks over and gets way closer than necessary. With aggressive body language and tone, she instists on knowing why I won't spay our dog. I say ma'am, I am not looking for an argument. She deflated a bit and backtracked, but really... you got out of your seat to walk over and do this whole song and dance. My ears and vocal chords work just fine. She then tells me that they don't usually let dogs they don't know mingle with the others. This has been our normal vet office. Even so, this was not what I was told over the phone. She spends time with our dog, who is very friendly and behaving toward her the same way she does with everyone, and says that she can be outside. I ask for clarification. She said that our dog will get to be outside, either with the other dogs or by herself and she assured me that she would be out somewhere she could run around. Either way, things sounded ok, but her vibe threw me off. We are gone for a week with no call from the office. I call on the day we are scheduled to pick up, and let them know we will be over shortly. They ask my name and when I say it I get met with panic. The person leaves and returns to the phone more panicked. She says our dog will be ready in a bit. We go to pick her up and the employee I speak with seems nervous. We sit down to wait for our dog and when she comes out, she has to be dragged through the door because she is so scared. The aggressive employee from earlier says something about our dog having memory loss, as she won't go to my 8 year old son on myself, despite our attempts to call her over. Something is obviously wrong. The aggressive employee from earlier has a sick smile on her face. I ask if anything happened. She said aside from anxious diarrhea, nothing out of the ordinary. I see her mouth area is rubbed raw. Does not compute. Did she get to play with the other dogs? She said no, because she kept acting like that --- pointing to her and my son. Our dog started to relax and was was wagging her butt in a play-bow. What did she even mean? So I press more. Did she get to go out at all? Yes, she said. And run around? Yes she said. How big of an area. A dog run she says. How big is that? A good size she says. Dimensions please. She maps out a 4x8 ish area. Really? Well sometimes she got to go into a bigger area. How big? Bigger she says. Wow. How often? Well I don't know I was busy she says. And she becomes more hostile. Basically, I ask for clarification and get the run around and hostility. Weird. And no call about the diarrhea before administering medication? No call at all? As we were leaving she was sure to passive-aggressively thank us and recommend another kennel. What happened to "First, do no harm?"

And this petco is a hidden gem because I've never seen such care and determination these guys put out. For all of those complaining or making things up to escalate situations for their own benefit I dare you to go to other petcos and see how much better the Lompoc one is compared to them. The staff really care and they are really good people. I've been coming to this one for many years. Don't always believe what you see in reviews. I've seen how badly the staff get treated for doing the right things.

Absolutely unacceptable experience at the Petco in Lompoc, CA…read more I was in the store with my family, including my 7-year-old daughter, to purchase a teddy bear hamster and a temporary cage. While an employee was retrieving the hamster, the General Manager approached us aggressively, raised his voice, and began scolding us about the cage, claiming a previous hamster had gotten ringworm from it. I tried to calmly explain that the cage was temporary and that we had done our research, but he would not let me speak, repeatedly talked over me, and belittled me in front of my child. His behavior was hostile, intimidating, and completely unprofessional. He then told us that if the hamster got sick, we should "not come back" because he would refuse to replace it, which felt threatening rather than helpful. Most alarming, his speech appeared slurred, and there was a strong smell of alcohol. Regardless of the cause, his conduct was inappropriate and concerning, especially from someone in a management role. What should have been a happy experience for our daughter was completely ruined. No customer -- especially a family with a child -- should be treated this way. Corporate should seriously look into the management at this location.

Village Vet has been such a meaningful part of our pets' lives over the years. We first came to…read morethem with our Rottweiler, Roxy, when she was very sick. They had all the equipment needed to run tests and figure out what was going on, and every single person we interacted with was kind, patient, and incredibly understanding. When it came time to say goodbye to Roxy, they made one of the hardest moments of our lives feel as peaceful and supported as possible. Their compassion truly meant everything to us. A few years later, we found ourselves in that position again with our 15-year-old Dodger (our Black Mouth Cur). Even though Dodger wasn't an established patient, they treated him with so much care and kindness, as if they had known him his whole life. That meant more than I can put into words. What I appreciate most about Village Vet is how heard and understood they make you feel. Their approach is realistic, down to earth, and genuinely compassionate. Every doctor we've worked with has been wonderful, especially Dr. Edwards. Thank you to the entire Village Vet team for your care, patience, and kindness.
