This is, without a doubt, the saddest Petco I've ever been in. Empty shelves. 2/3 of the lights are off. You would think they were out of business. And given their limited selection they probably should be.

This is me on my day off...

We had a good groomer and the next visit passed off to another groomer who did a terrible job on our dog. I would not recommend this store

Our choices in the area were limited and we needed a place for our dog the next day, so my partner went through registration without a tour. The registering employee was provided all medical details - we noted that our dog's booster was due but would be completed at our vet visit scheduled for the next afternoon, and that we needed daycare starting the same day. She said that wouldn't be an issue so we paid in advance for 10 days. The next day, partner drives the half hour to Lompoc to drop our dog off and was told that she could not be taken back without the booster. So now he's in the situation we were trying to avoid, unable to work because our dog does not have care, and the woman at the front desk was not concerned about the miscommunication. Booster acquired, our dog is now a regular doggie day care customer. She looks forward to her visits with her dog buddies and the staff. Pick up and drop off are fast and straightforward. She gets a little dusty but we bathe her regularly anyway. Since that first day, we have had a few more issues with daycare availability that are all the more frustrating due to lack of communication. If doggie daycare is optional for you, this may not be an issue, but for us it means someone has to take a day off or loses half a day to making alternative arrangements. There are a few things you can do to try to mitigate the risk of not having care, but the legwork will be on you and are not guaranteed. 1. Weekday after a holiday - facility will be full of boarded dogs who haven't been picked up yet. Call ahead and/or arrive at 7am. 2. Rainy day - facility will be limited by kennel availability to avoid muddy dogs. Note that a single rainy day can lead to a week of limited availability due to muddy conditions. Call ahead and/or arrive at 7am. Note: This review is only for doggie daycare experience. We have not boarded our dog with the facility.

Dogs will automatically try to hold their urine and feces (hello that's why we crate train) and even if you opt for the bigger area it still defeats the purpose of crate training if the poor babies hold their potty so long and then have to finally go in their enclosure. And what if something happens to the pups? No one is there! What is the point of boarding an animal if all they are going to do is lock them in a room for 13 hours alone. People can and do neglect their animals for free :( . Really cruel. DO NOT LOCK YOUR DOG IN A CRATE FOR MORE THAN 4-6 HOURS AT A TIME! For puppies crate time is much less! They have to use the restroom and get thirsty! I can't believe dog owner's support a business that does this to their dogs and pays for it! Heartbreaking!

Lompoc Veterinary Clinic - "What do you mean.. I have to get shots?"

Lompoc Veterinary Clinic

This review is for my experience over the phone with Lori , I have not visited the clinic…read more My pup wasn't doing well. He was shaking, vomiting, had a lack of appetite, and bloody stool. He's a little guy, so he tends to go downhill quickly if he doesn't get treatment quickly. The vet I typically use said they couldn't see him until 3 days later, even after explaining his symptoms. I didn't want to make my pup suffer that long and I was really concerned because it was getting progressively worse rather quickly. I called local vets. Some weren't taking new patients, some didn't have any openings, some weren't friendly or informative over the phone when I called. I called Lompoc Veterinary Clinic, they could not see him HOWEVER, Lori couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. She was so patient and gave me a long list of other local vets & numbers to try. I was very appreciative of her extra efforts and her caring manner. Not long after my conversation with her she called me back telling me she forgot one other option. She totally went the extra mile and my pet isn't even a patient at this clinic. I'm so grateful to Lori because that phone call made all the difference. I called that last option she gave me and it was EXACTLY what I was looking for. It's VERY rare these days where a business does what they're getting paid to do, even more rare when they're going above and beyond without getting paid for it! I SO appreciate Lori's kindness, thoughtfulness, and her going the extra mile. This is exactly the type of service I would love for my fur baby to receive. So while I have not had the opportunity to visit this clinic, I would not hesitate to recommend them based on the EXCELLENT service I received over the phone by Lori. Very grateful. Thank you !

They had all the equipment needed to run tests and figure out what was going on, and every single person we interacted with was kind, patient, and incredibly understanding. When it came time to say goodbye to Roxy, they made one of the hardest moments of our lives feel as peaceful and supported as possible. Their compassion truly meant everything to us. A few years later, we found ourselves in that position again with our 15-year-old Dodger (our Black Mouth Cur). Even though Dodger wasn't an established patient, they treated him with so much care and kindness, as if they had known him his whole life. That meant more than I can put into words. What I appreciate most about Village Vet is how heard and understood they make you feel. Their approach is realistic, down to earth, and genuinely compassionate. Every doctor we've worked with has been wonderful, especially Dr. Edwards. Thank you to the entire Village Vet team for your care, patience, and kindness. You made even the most heartbreaking experiences feel supported and full of compassion. I truly can't recommend you enough.
