Great Thai restaurant on Mass Ave and the missing vegetarian friendly addition to downtown! We started with the tom yum soup and papaya salad. Both fresh tasting and full of flavor. We then had the green curry with veggies and drunken noodles with tofu- ample sized entrees and a good amount of spice incorporated (we ordered medium-hot). Minus 1 star for service, it was quite slow despite the restaurant not being busy, although our server was very pleasant. And for the bartender not working the night we had dinner there and thus the cocktail I wanted could not be made :( Other Thai restaurants in downtown don't offer items sans fish/oyster sauce (premade sauces) so we appreciate Thaitanium for accommodating! read more

I just happened to be walking by on my way to have dinner somewhere else and being that it was newly opened decided to give a try. I'm glad I did! The restaurant is pretty quaint and the decor is welcoming. The food we orded was pretty good. To be honest I was pleasantly surprised. The table ordered chicken pad thai, crispy shrimp, Thai fried rice with chicken, and the thai tea. Chicken Pad Thai was a bit sweet but not overwhelmingly sweet. The noodles were cooked perfectly and it was a very generous portion. Had enough to take home Crispy Shrimp was really tasty! It came with a remoulade type of sauce that added a punch of flavor to the dish. Thai Fried Rice w/ Chicken was very good! The rice was good just right and the flavors were not understated. I would definitely order this again! Thai tea was good as well! Overall the food was really good and I would highly recommend. The service was not the best though. In fact it was disappointing. The waitress barely checked in on us even as the restaurant died down. Granted she was working the whole restaurant but waiting 20+ minutes after we finished our meal just to tell her we wanted the check is not a good reflection for the business. I love Thai food and I've heard great things about this place so I decided to try it with a few of my friends. I enjoyed the pad kee mao, though, I made the mistake of getting very hot spice level because it was very hot. We also had the crab rangoons, which were the best I'd had compared to any restaurant (though, I rarely order them at restaurants). My friend order the tom yum soup, but he said it wasn't sour enough and I tried it and it did taste almost like American chicken noodle soup, so avoid ordering if you're expecting a strong tradition taste. Overall, service was okay. The server could have been more nice, but they did let us bring our own cake and even refrigerated and provided utensils for it. read more

I gave this new place a try with three friends over the weekend. The layout was the same as the French restaurant that previously occupied the space, but the decor had changed a bit. We were immediately greeted and sat at a nearby window table. Our service was consistently fast and great until it was time to pay, then we had to wait for quite a while. The food was great and the portions were huge. We had the Pad See Ewe with Chicken, the Pad Kee Mao with Calamari, a Fried Rice and Duck dish. The duck was awesome! Actually, everything was really good. They have so many options available on the menu. Can't wait to go back and try more. I think this place would be ideal for carryout. Let me start with the good: The spring rolls are great -- crispy and light, filled with veggies and rice noodles, served with a side of sweet sauce. The order of crab rangoon gives you six small pockets of fried dough, stuffed completely full with a delicious combination of cream cheese and crab. Incredibly rich and incredibly tasty. Now, the just ok: Their chicken is tough. In multiple dishes we tried (pad thai, red curry) it tasted like the chicken had been cooked, dumped in the dish, and reheated. While the red curry was my favorite of the entrees we got, by the time I got it, it had already started to separate at the bottom -- still good flavor, just sort of lacking in attention to detail. Lastly, the pad thai was super dry, as if they hadn't used enough sauce on the noodles. Turns out you can order them with extra sauce -- I would highly recommend. Thaitanium opened up shop in a very good location, and they've made an effort in filling the hole that is Thai cuisine in Indianapolis! Between this restaurant and Siam Square, I'd choose the latter if I were dining in... BUT (!) Thaitanium has killer deals with delivery services, and who doesn't enjoy Thai food being catered to your doorstep??? The portions are massive for the price and generally feed me at least twice, so it's fair! My fave is the drunken noodles with fried tofu, but the fried rice is also hard to pass on. I was a bit surprised when I moved here, and there was not a lot of takeout restaurants. I love a good Pad Thai, and they did not disappoint on the flavor or quality. I absolutely love when they loaded up with peanuts. I typically call in my order because using Uber eats or DoorDash adds extra fees. They're quick about getting the order in and by the time I drive there it's ready. Parking can sometimes be tough just because it is on Mass Ave, but there's usually parking behind the building you can snag. read more

I've only been here twice. Both times, service was kind of slow, but it's covid. Other than that, my favorite dish is the yellow curry with chicken MILD. Trust me, get the mild. So glad I got in here on opening day! I live close by and had been passing the storefront for weeks, so I've been eager to try it out! We walked in on a Thursday night and had no wait - which was awesome! The two women on staff were extremely friendly and helpful with our questions. We ordered drinks (margaritas in a Thai restaurant? OK! YES!) and crab Rangoon to start - and it was fabulous. The dish was served with a really great dipping sauce as well, not a traditional sweet & sour. When we ordered entrees, we were asked to specify how spicy we wanted our meals - so be prepared for that! There are lots of options for vegetarians, seafood lovers, and meat eaters which is great. We skipped on dessert this round because we were full, but there was sweet sticky rice that I would love to try at some point. They appeared to have food options at lots of different price points, so it looks pretty budget-friendly. And on Mass Ave, that's always a win in my book. Came over for lunch and was very pleased with the lunch selections. The lunch costs $8.99 and includes an egg roll, a salad, a bowl of soup and en entree of your choice. Comparing to another restaurant Thai Paradise, Thaitanium gives you a salad for $1 more. But it's worth it. The portion of the entree is bigger and it tastes less like fast food. Thai Paradise is great, but Thaitanium is better. PAD KEE MAO was really tasty and not that salty as other Thai places are. The consistency is very good. Green Curry was not watery and had generous amount of protein and veggie in it. I did notice the slight inconsistency in spicy level between these two while ordered both in Medium. But it could be the temperature and form that caused this. I am very pleased with my visit and hope they carry it on. read more

Seems like a solid place. For this first foray all I did was order takeout... two orders of pad thai for my aunt and myself. Tofu pad thai medium hot was good... aside from the fact that I'm looking forward to ordering on a day when I'll be eating meat, as the tofu was fried to the point of drying out. Yes! Thaitanium is a great addition to Mass Ave. I went with coworkers for lunch so I can't comment on their dinner menu or bar. But, the lunch was fantastic. I had the mussaman curry. It was spicier than I would expect a medium spice level to be, but it was delightful. I tasted my co-worker's pad thai and pad khing and they were both fantastic. We had stellar service. The price seems right for lunch. $8.99 gets you a lunch entree, a spring roll, a cup of soup, and a small (tiny) salad. I'm curious to try them out at dinner time, but I'll definitely be back for lunch. Update 10/9/17: Went for dinner last night. It's a lovely atmosphere at dinner time, too. I finally ventured out to Thaitanum after passing it daily on the way to work. The stars finally aligned and I made it over for lunch break. As with typical Mass Ave, you need to pay for parking so I coughed up the $1,5 to park for an hour. As soon as you head inside, you're greeted by staff and directed to a seat. There was a medium lunch crowd which is always a positive sign. TT offers a lunch menu which includes soup, entree, fried spring roll and small salad. I felt neutral about the soup since I couldn't quite figure out the flavor or the peas and carrots floating around. However, the main dish made up for the lackluster starter. I had the yellow curry with beef, extra hot and it was heavenly. The curry had the delightful sweetness you expect from yellow curry and the meat + veggies were so good when paired with a scoop of rice. The spring roll was pretty good--not greasy and I finished with the salad to close. The entire meal was less than $11 including tip, which is a great deal. I'm excited to visit Thaitanum again and explore the menu as well as the deserts in the future. read more

I tried this thai restaurant a few weeks ago for the first while my cousins were in town. If you are looking to venture from your usual go to for Thai food then I would highly recommend going here. I had the green curry with tofu and it was delicious! It's a little sweeter than red curry but still packs a punch when it comes to the spice. I did find the spice level to be a bit stronger than other places so you might consider going a level lower than you may normally try. The inside of the restaurant is decorated to feel like you are in an authentic thai restaurant which certainly added to our experience! You can't go wrong in giving this place a try read more

I've walked by this place countless of times. It always smells good from outside. This past weekend I didn't feel like cooking or going out, so I ordered in for delivery. The restaurant uses Order Up and they were quicker than the expected hour. I ordered the lettuce rolls with chicken and got the Pad See Ew with extra veggies for an entree. I was looking forward for lunch leftovers the next day! While the meal was moderately priced, I was not too impressed with it. While I liked that they used white meat chicken and not the dark meat, it was very dry in the lettuce wraps and the Pad See Ew. It also didn't have much protein in it at all. I did enjoy the sauce and the noodles. I may try this again. I think it's worth going into the restaurant to give it another try. read more

So this isn't my first time here, yet my first review. I arrive around 2pm just a party of two and seated promptly. Service was attentive but not hovering. I ordered the side of spring rolls and the Thai Fried Rice. The spring rolls came out and the center was slightly cold in a couple but good overall. After the spring rolls I didn't hear from the waitress to refill drinks or receive my soup and spring roll that comes with the lunch portion. Well come to find out they bring that with the food. Huge portion compared to some of the alternative Thai places. I had the Thai Fried Rice which was good but just a little leas flavor than alternatives and I'm definitely not a fan of their hot soup.
