The staff was very helpful with menu suggestions. The appetizers were exceptional. The dining room was nice and inviting.

Service today was definitely lacking, our waitress was in a rush. I requested it to be hot and when it come out it was no spice at all so that was very disappointing. Besides the food was absolutely amazing.

Sushi rolls for appetizers; very good.

We were so delighted to find a Thai place here locally. We had sushi rolls for appetizer and I had chicken pad Thai for my meal. Everything was delicious. Service was good and the ambiance was casual and pleasant. We we will definitely go back.

Do not order. They were just awful and left a horrible aftertaste after 1 bite

This is really hard to put out there but I think this is absolutely the worst meal we have ever eaten here. I've always given them rave reviews but the quality was just bad. And it is really unfortunate. The glasses were filthy (told they haven't had a dishwasher in 5 years). The #111 lettuce wraps were just awful. The #107 gyoza came out streamed not fried and drowning in this sauce instead of with a dark sweet sauce and fried. I asked for them to be fried instead of steamed and they brought out the wrong dish. Then they brought the #104 Thai dumplings with fried garlic on top which is not what we ordered. The bang bang shrimp was good and the only thing we ate. I hope they can get it together.

Fried Pork Gyoza in a delicious sweet sauce.

A nice chilly and rainy fall evening calls for a big bowl of spicy pork Korean Noodle Soup & fried Gyoza from Thai's Joy in Greeneville, TN. I was greeted immediately by a friendly hostess who also served as my waitress. Very attentive and helpful in answering questions. The Gyoza arrived promptly. They were fresh, perfectly crisp and topped with a delicious sweet sauce served on a light bed of shredded lettuce. The generous big bowl of Korean Noodle Soup arrived moments afterward (would be enough for two people). The sauce was just the right amount of spicy, not too hot, but had my nose slightly running, eyes a little watery and sinuses completely clear. The flavors were spot on. This is *the* perfect comfort food to warm you right up on a chilly day. I ended up taking home 3/4 of my soup & a couple of my Gyoza. I highly recommend Thai's Joy and will definitely revisit in the future.

Peanut Curry was delicious and served attractively.

We vegetarians loved our food! We had Massaman Curry, Peanut Curry and Thai Eggrolls. They were all delicious and well prepared. We all asked for fried tofu in our entrees. Large portions. Happy to come again.

    Salmon Nagiri. Large and tasty.

Not great. Small portions at high prices. I wanted to like it but it was too greasy. The only good thing was the customer service.

None of the spaces are marked but it's not difficult to figure out where to park. Since the lot is gravel, be aware if you have mobility issues. You can park near the entrance but not adjacent to the building so there will be at least a short walk to the door. There is also a small step up to the porch in front of the door. The pickup window is next to the entrance door which is a nice touch as the interior is small and would certainly get crowded if to go orders had to wait inside. The interior is small with table seating for about 20. There is also a small outside patio for warmer weather dining. There are several windows allowing you to look over the very near river. We got there shortly before they opened and were seated within a minute of entering. We got a nice corner table next to the river. Our servers were very pleasant. They went over the menu and specials and were very patient answering any questions. One thing to note is they do not allow substitutions, so read the menu description carefully to be sure you know what you are ordering. We wound up ordering their daily specials. Unfortunately, I forgot to take note of what they were called. One was a curry and the other included short ribs and soup. We also ordered spring rolls. The spring rolls were brought to the table in about 10 minutes. They were hot and crunchy and excellent. The dipping sauce was a touch spicy and really brought out the flavor of the spring rolls. The main dishes were brought out after about another 15 minutes. The curry dish was outstanding. The meat was tender and seasoned very well. There was a slight overall spiciness to the dish, but it quickly settled into a warm glow that simply begged for another bite. The short ribs and soup special were also outstanding. The ribs were cooked perfectly with the meat falling off the bone. The soup was flavorful and the ingredients fresh. We ate until we were stuffed and then ate a little more. We simply could not finish everything and took the last bit with us, and it was just as good reheated the next day. We also decided to take a mango and coconut milk dessert to go for later in the evening. This was a wonderful finish to a great meal. The mango was fresh and flavorful. The coconut milk and sticky rice made for a great taste texture. For such an unassuming building the dining experience would rival that of any big city. The fact it is located in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina allows it to offer an experience unrivaled by any better known restaurant. If you are anywhere near Sylva, you own it to yourself to partake of a meal at Dalaya.

Here was our order: -Shrimp Salad (Summer) Rolls: 10/10...the rolls were twice the size of rolls you get at other Thai places for the same price. But with the peanut sauce, they were transcendental. That peanut sauce could be bottled and sold en masse. So so so good. -Papaya Salad: 7.5/10, very refreshing, but with a secret hit of spice on the back of the palate that wakes you up. Crisp, fresh, healthy. -Larb chicken: this was a first for me....to my unrefined palate, it tasted almost like ground chicken cooked with pho spices/herbs. I ended up drizzling some of the leftover peanut sauce on the chicken which was amazing. Again, lots of protein and vegetables, perfect for health-conscious folks. 9/10 -Pad Thai: this is my wife's safe order that she always uses as a litmus test for restaurants, and it did NOT disappoint! She said this was her favorite pad Thai EVER, and with drizzles of the extra peanut sauce and lime juice, this dish was truly elevated. 10/10. -Mango Sticky Rice: 100000000/10, my lord I don't know how I lived my life without this. It's reminiscent of peach cobbler in my opinion, but with mango. The sweetened rice isn't overly sweet, which allows the sharpness/sweetness of the mango to shine. The mango itself was perfectly ripe, whereas most mangos tend to be sickly sweet and mushy from overripening. All in all, this is our new favorite for Thai cuisine in Tri-Cities, and my introduction to Lao food was beautiful and filling. We will absolutely be back in the future, as I'd love to see how Lao pho differs from Vietnamese pho. Plus the mango sticky rice is etched into my mind permanently.
