The food is always excellent and freshly made and the service is above the normal. I always have a wonderful experience eating here and they also provide their own delivery service apart from the 3rd party stuff most restaurants rely on so that's already a very positive attribute. The restaurant itself is always clean and effectively staffed so as not to have much delay in any orders whether it's for personal meals, dinner or lunch or family sized affairs for either main meals. I highly suggest getting large sizes and sharing everything as the food is all expertly prepared and a treat to the taste buds. I highly recommend this restaurant and experience as it's a delightful surprise in the Tennessee foothills. read more

This is a guest review, we here at The Tight Squad have an honorary member dictating this review for full transparency. "I looked across the table at a pile of peppers, onions and chicken covered in the thickest coarse, black pepper you could imagine . Norwood looked at me with tamed enthusiasm, "I order the pepper chicken, but I don't like peppers or onions. Just the chicken." It didn't make any sense, but it made all the sense in the world cause I got the veg.... and his rice. Great service." -The Tight Squad? read more

Stopped in for lunch what a unexpected treat, I got the hot and spicy chicken and my wife ordered the chicken cashew nut. The portions were plentiful and delicious. The price 6.99 for soup, egg roll and entree was a great value., we will be back. read more

I've thought about eating here several times. I see people coming and going all the time. Foot traffic (like a full parking lot) can be a decent indicator of how good a restaurant is. I once got in line, but I left when the couple in front of me decided they had no idea what to order and asked way to many question to each other about the options. It was close to closing time and I was nearing hangry. Today, I was not that lucky. I walked in to an empty counter, although several people waited for to-go orders. I went basic - General Tso's. It should be at least a little spicy. It should have a good mouth feel. It should have chicken that's flavorful and able to shine through the spices. It should maybe have a couple of pieces of broccoli or carrots, or even both. The sauce should be moist, not gelatinous. It can be accompanied by either white or fried rice. Here's where it went wrong. The rice. It was, I think, trying to appear fried. It was not. It was a brownish (?) and soft, while also able to clump. I might get a clump or be unable to keep it on a fork. It paired well with the chicken as neither had any flavor. Had I been blindfolded, I would have never guessed the food by smell or taste. At less than $10, I was not expecting P.F. Chang's, but thought maybe Panda Express would show up. I got neither. All in all, the dish was ironic. It was as if I had ordered Chinese food from Wish. read more

So much food for such a little price. Friendly service and everything is hot fresh and made to order. Been coming here for years they are constantly great. I wouldn't believe any negative reviews. This is a local hard working family and their food is excellent. read more

I've tried this place several times after I moved back from Atlanta and experience really good Chinese food, and it's just blah. Food is very bland. I will say the soups and egg rolls are good. But the beef and broccoli is gross. read more

Thought I would give this one a go. Do not recommend. Sadly, food was terrible. Ordered Crab Rangoon, Orange Chicken, and Shrimp Lo Mein. I picked up one of the crab Rangoon & not only was it stale/old, but grease running down my hand after picking it up, as if they were old & thrown back in the fryer to reheat in oil. The orange chicken was covered in a weird red sauce and tasted nothing like orange chicken. Lastly, the shrimp lo mein noodles were chewy as if they were old and undercooked. read more

China Chef - Crab Rangoon, Orange(?) Chicken, and Shrimp LoMein. - Chinese Near Me - Greeneville, Tennessee

If I could give a negative 50 stars for my treatment today I would My son and I visited the restaurant for lunch for the first n last time one of us are very obese and as soon as we entered the staff began to laugh . We were seated I have no idea why the two young men were continuing to laugh but I'm not clueless but we went up and got one plate and one plate only . We don't even finish that .They stood around our table the entire time we were there I didn't appreciate being house entertainment. We paid to be there to not to be laughed. I had to ask for a knife to cut the beef because it was tough so the young lady's then thought that was funny I was batting a thousand so yes they were standing one the other side of us they gave me a butter knife to cut meat with and they almost just sat and laughed at us I'm just so thru with this day and that restaurant. read more

We ordered China Chef through DoorDash last night and it was not a great experience. The order was a lot of food, as it was for 6 people and my dinner was missing. No big deal, mistakes happen. My hubs Mongolian Beef (which he orders often) had almost no beef in it but he said he would eat it anyway so again, no big deal. We called China Chef to let them know we were missing a dinner and they were upset we called them. They said we had to contact DoorDash so we apologized and got a refund through DoorDash. Then we called China Chef so we could re-order my dinner directly but they blocked our number! We know because when we called a few times and it went to a busy signal, but when other family members called in between our calls, it went through fine! I have to say, that was a very childish and jerky move on China Chef's part. We used to love them but we will no longer give them our business. Their behavior was completely unacceptable. There are other Asian food places in Greeneville, TN that will get our money. read more

This was horrible my husband pick me up wonton soup and Mongolian beef. The soup had tasteless broth and the wontons looked like they were made out lasagna noodles I couldn't eat any of it one bite was enough the Mongolian beef was a plate full of onions. I've never had a worse meal in my life. read more

The absolute worst food to pass my lips! The win ton soup was salty, the hunan shrimp was tasteless, and the spareribs weren't spare ribs but sliced pork. No need to waste your time if good Chinese Food is what you are seeking!!! read more

People are very nice, but this is honestly the worst tasting Chinese I've ever had. I ordered General Tso's, it had no vegetables whatsoever, and was not spicy at all. The "chicken" tasted fishy, I actually became nauseous after my third bite so I just threw it away. The egg roll was decent, the egg drop soup was ok. read more

I'm all fairness, due to the low price point of the food and how much you are able to get for it, I am a minor fan. I've eaten at this establishment for as long as I can remember. The service ,food and cleanliness are spot on. read more

Just had lunch at China Chef.We will never go there again, meat tasted old.Sauce was nasty .Would not recommend going there.

We ordered take out from here since our favorite Chinese restaurant was closed. We order 2 orders of honey chicken, a order of general taos chic and en and a beef and broccoli. 3 orders were large and supposed to come with soup and egg rolls. Didn't get any soup or egg rolls. The General taos chicken was spicy other than that it had no taste. Not a bit sweet. The honey chicken was terrible as well. I literally wouldn't feed it to my dog. I threw it away. Never again will I ever ever go here. read more

I take out here every monday night. Very affordable, generous portions. Friendly, family-owned establishment. My ONLY complaint is every time I come in the TV is set on Fox News, so Im forced to listen to Tucker Carlson spew whatever hateful nonsense he has on his mind that day. Im not suggesting they keep it on CNN either, since most people in Greeneville are Republicans and find that network as offensive as the rest of us find Fox. But keep it on something no one finds distateful, like the Weather Channel. When you go out to eat the last thing you want is to listen to something that offends you. read more

Definitely some of the best Chinese food available in the area. The dumplings (both steamed and fried) are amazing. We love that they are willing to deliver if your order is large enough. They have recently updated their dining area which gives this restaurant a more pleasant and welcoming look. read more

I have been to every Chinese place in town, and this is by far the best Chinese food within 50 miles. I LOVE China Chef, and would recommend it to ANYONE. They are very nice, and the prices are very very fair. I love this! I eat here at least twice a week. read more

We eat here regularly and I have to say these people can cook to your individual preferences. The owner/chef amazes me with his excellent taste blends and quality read more

The food is always pretty good, people are friendly too! I love that we can go here when in a hurry and have a quick dinner. However, the owners have their small son in the restaurant with them at all times. I know this is probably very convenient for them, I applaud them for their love of their child and need to have him around. I have seen the small boy do some very unhygienic things and it bothers me. He talks and bothers a lot of the customers. There is potty chairs for him in the public rest room,. I have seen him come and go out of the bathroom several times alone without supervision, this means that he may not be washing his hands? Just saying this does not make me feel very healthy at all, others in my group like the place and are not bothered. I get grossed out! He touches all the tables, condiments etc.....just saying. read more
