    Tacos Salmon
    Jason R.

So far, this place is huge. So I fully expect this place to be crowded during the weekends. This place is located downtown and I wish I had more time to enjoy the area. It looked beautiful and we had a perfect seat upstairs facing the street. Started off with charred edamame in a chili sauce. The plate was huge and very tasty. Spice was just right. Ordered the salmon tacos and they were cooked perfectly. The mango chutney went very well with the dish. The chips were good. The salsa was ehhh. Only because I don't like beans and this salsa had beans. I would suggest with any plate you order, especially tacos, ball up a napkin and place it under your tray on the chips side. Your tacos will have natural juices that will run and get your chips and tacos soggy. So this little tactic will push all of your juice to once side. No mushy chips. I ordered the Thai tea cold and it was great. Overall this place was great. Their drink selection was huge. I'll be coming back for sure.

The food was so amazing here! Some of the best I've ever had. I ordered the 10 vegetable fried rice. The portion was so huge. As a vegetarian, I was able to order it with tofu. I was even able to have a mocktail. One of my favorite restaurants.

We ordered Calamari, pad thai, and thai tea. The service was great. The calamari took too long and it was an appetizer, but it came after the main meal. It was slightly soggy, not crispy, but the sauce was really great. Pad Thai it had a strong flavor of peanut but a little dry. It it was a big portion. It was good but not great. I wish that there was more sauce in the dish. The drink was really great and they gave extra tea and I also asked for the sweetener and I had leftover drinks and the server asked if I wanted to take out so I had extra drinks for the road. The vibe of the restaurant is great. I would try other dishes next time.

For dinner we headed to Juan Siao (@juansiaojc). It's a cool spot in downtown Johnson City, TN. Their menu concept is a sort of Mexican-Japanese fusion. And the best illustration of that is the Birria Ramen. It's ramen made with braised brisket, elote, escabeche onions, cilantro, onion, and a whole Birria taco AS A GARNISH! This was a delicious bowl of ramen. Big beefy flavor in the broth and heavy on the cilantro, if you're into that sort of thing like me. The corn was delicious and added a nice pop of texture and sweetness to the dish. The restaurant space itself was beautiful with nice views of downtown JC from the second floor dining area. A definite recommend!

I've been here twice as an out of town guest visiting their hometown area and it's a favorite. Environment, food, service are all excellent and definitely will return.

Excellent food from the charred edamame appetizer with a kick to the grilled salmon entree with pineapple tamari glaze on a bed of spanish rice. We got a corner window view because it was our anniversary celebration. Awesome service by our server Hannah who made the evening special.

If you're looking for a little upscale (but not too upscale), a date night spot, or just somewhere that has a blend of traditional Asian and a bit of Mexican food with good cocktails, then Juan Siao is your place.) The location is prime and the service was good. The restaurant itself is beautiful, especially from the second floor. Food portions were massive and they tasted fantastic. The drinks were on point. We elected to go with Ten Vegetable Fried Rice and the Druken Noodles. The addition of Juan Siao's take on yum-yum sauce and their "Monsoon Sauce" made the dishes even better. Their house sake is good and is reasonably priced. Bottom Line - I recommend Juan Siao's for just about any occasion, except for maybe getting rowdy with the boys

Juan Siao has a really nice, modern look and feel to it and is located downtown, right by all the popular bars and breweries. Their menu has a lot to offer since it's Mexican Asian fusion, but overall the experience and food were both disappointing. Even with a reservation, there was at least an extra twenty minute wait, and I get it when people don't leave immediately after paying but it still sucks. The service wasn't the best, but it wasn't terrible as the waiter was super friendly and it was busy. We didn't really order any Mexican dishes aside from the snapper (which was terribly dry), but the flavors for the Asian dishes weren't very accurate. There were so many inconsistencies between the dishes. They would either taste bland, salty, or it wouldn't have the correct flavor at all. There are just way too many different options on the menu and they would be better off if they stuck to doing either Mexican or Asian cuisine instead of doing fusion. Even their chili oil wasn't even spicy although the server was warning us about it. I definitely wouldn't come back for dinner, but maybe just for small bites and a couple of drinks.. but I'd have to be heavily persuaded lol.

How the heck does this place have only 3.5 stars?! In my experience, this was definitely a five star. This place is very busy for a reason so expect to wait even if you have reservations. They are doing the best they can. The upstairs is the "spot". Also, I had both the Birrias Tacos and the Birras Ramen. My server was Bronson who was really great and offered some hot sauce that you definitely have to try , but use sparingly, it's fire. The Dark n Stormy was nice but a little light on the rum. Definitely a repeat when in JC.

Bartender cut us off because it was "too late" then she continues to serve alcohol to other groups for the next 20 minutes until we left.

The restaurant and staff were typical Chinese vibe. I'll be honest, coming from NY, my expectations weren't high. I didn't even take pictures at first because I assumed there wouldn't be a review (and I usually won't post a negative one). When I tell you SHOCKED isn't even a strong enough word... I'm not kidding. We didn't want leftovers, so we ordered a few things to share. They brought kimchi and pickled cucumbers to the table. I'm not even a kimchi person, but this one was delicious; and the sweet, tangy cucumbers were fantastic. Wonton soup is always my barometer for good Chinese food. The broth was flavorful with just a little kick. The wontons were plump with filling and had a super thin wrapper-absolutely delicious. We tried both the egg roll and the spring roll-both spot on. The duck sauce and Chinese mustard were excellent too. For our main, we ordered General Tso's chicken (mild spice) with white rice. First of all... the platter was HUGE. Aside from being slightly spicier than I personally prefer, it was AMAZING. And yes...WHITE MEAT CHICKEN! Big chunks of juicy, crunchy chicken, large slices of onion (which I love), pieces of pepper, and a delicious sauce that coated everything perfectly. Halfway through the meal I realized I HAD to take a picture because this review was happening. This wasn't "good for Tennessee." This was genuinely DELICIOUS Chinese food. Yong Asian House-BRAVO!

We ended up ordering kimchi, chicken bibimbap, crispy rice, and hot ginseng tea. As another reviewer pointed out, there are no vegetables on the bibimbap. We did get a fried egg, though, as a paid option. The flavor was good - slightly spicy and slightly sweet (my husband thought it was too sweet). The crispy rice was good but too sweet for both of us. The Kimchi was delicious but not spicy at all. (We would have liked it even more if it were at least a little bit spicy.) It seemed like the dishes here have been tailored to accommodate American tastes. Bottom line: the food is good, but not quite what we expected from a restaurant known for authentic Korean cuisine.
