I ordered two lunch specials and I'm glad I did because... The sushi rolls are tiny. I got the Philadelphia roll and the caterpillar roll sushi meal. Then I got the chicken, steak and shrimp hibachi and a order of unagi.... which he kinda looked at me funny. I said eel because he didn't know that unagi is eel. Lordy... work at a place and don't know the name of sushi fish. So the sushi rolls were teeny tiny they were like a third of the size of an average sushi roll. I'm from California I know legit Sushi. Also when I think hibachi I think Benihana. I have yet to find a good place that labels themselves "hibachi" here. This place drowns their so-called hibachi in sauce. They forgot my shrimp so they brought that after and it was 3 shrimp. The rice was completely flavorless. Sushi ... They need to work on not only the size but they need to get some sauces or something to make it have some flavor. The hibachi flavor was ok just way too much sauce; should be very little sauce. This covers their new (temporary) location on Bristol Highway in the old Buena Vista restaurant. It's just after the Bristol highway split on North Roan. It has plenty of parking, with spaces adjacent to the building as well as across a travel lane. There are also several handicapped spaces near the door. Walking in, go to the right and enter the main restaurant. There is a counter immediately to the left for ordering and paying. There were two tables occupied but no workers in the dining area. I waited about five minutes before the waitress saw me. One of the patrons pointed me out when she went to check on that table. The waitress apologized and quickly took my to go order. I was told it would take about 20 minutes. I sat in a nearby booth to wait. All the standard Mexican decor is still in place. Since they said this is a temporary location, I would not expect any major changes. More guests came in as I was waiting, maybe 10 or so. The one waitress working the dining area was kept busy but seemed to be keeping up with everyone. She did stop by after 20 minutes and left me know they were a bit behind in the kitchen and it would be a few more minutes. Even the owner came out to check an me. My food arrived about 35 minutes after placing the order. It was well packaged in clamshell Styrofoam containers and stayed warm on the drive home. The soup was also still warm in the individual sealed containers. The crab Rangoon is served in triangles instead of the traditional "flowers". The cream cheese filling is flavorful and some is available in every bite. The dipping sauce is a sweet chili sauce, so it has a slight spiciness which compliments the sweetness of the filling. The onion soup was very good. It is a light broth with green onions and mushrooms. The soup has a strong flavor which is enough to make a meal on its own. The miso soup was very rich and flavorful. The broth contained a lot of tofu and other ingredients. Both soups are highly recommended. The General Tso's chicken was quite good. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the thick sauce had a slight spiciness to it. The lunch portion was appropriate for the price and the amount of rice was sufficient without being overwhelming. The Orange chicken was also another winner. Again, the chicken was cooked perfectly and the right portion for the price. The serving included orange slices, but the sauce had a definite orange flavor on its own. Since this was the first day open in the new location, some grace can be given for the longer wait than anticipated. The kitchen however, has not missed a beat moving to the new location. Every item we tried was above average. It is great to see them back in operation and I expect many more opportunities to try their other menu items. read more

I've come to yelp, to express my concerns and spread the word. The service sucks, first and foremost. I'm not sure if the lady running around is the owner or just a worker but she is flat out rude. I've ate here a couple times. First time was good. Not great. You could tell over half the meal is frozen. Not fresh. The ramen was mediocre and flavorless overpowered with spices, and the canned jack fruit and baboo shoots explained it all. I witnesses this lady degrade and yell at her employee, she was rude while her employee was trying to take orders. Demanding they stop and go get food for another table telling them that the table will be alright to wait while in the middle of take their order. Second time there a table sent something back, in the bar area. I was in the dinning. Not only before she rounded the corner to the kitchen stuck her nasty fingers in the food to try it. Started yelling at the cooks right next to us. Then had the audacity to bring that same plate back around the corner, the one she stuck her fingers in, to come back and tell the customer that's how it comes and you don't know what your talking about!. Are you serious! The smell in the restaurant when you walk in smells of rotting flesh. Then I tried to go to the bathroom. They have a big curtain up and one bathroom so I went beyond the curtain thinking another bathroom was beside it like on the bar side. FOOD LAYING OUT EVERYWHERE COOKED FOOD UNCOOKED FOOD ALL OF IT. Dumplings is good, but their dip is spicy; they used chili paste instead of the usual sweet soy sauce dip. Well, got a pad Thai dish that doesn't taste authentic. They use chili paste to get it spicier. It's not the right taste. I ordered Rainbow sushi, and it is good. Also, disappointed they didn't serve dragon roll with Unagi. read more

I eat I Hana usually 2 to 3 times a week. The service is always good. The owner makes it a point to be gracious and friendly with customers. The Thai small salad with yum yum dressing or ginger dressing is a great starter while you main course is being prepared. The Thai food is authentic as I have had. It reminds me of the year I spent in Thailand while in the military. My favorite dishes are Chicken fried rice, Pad Thai, Drunken noodles. My favorite appetizers are Firecracker Shrimp, Vegetable Tempura and Spring Rolls. If you like Thai food this is the place to get it as the portions are large with a fair price. read more

Freaking delicious, fantastic service from Shannon and the owner Sari was super sweet!! We had Tuna Tataki, Chicken Pad Thai, the angry dragon roll and the teriyaki chicken bento box. i was in johnson city on business and doordashed ieat after seeing they had vegan options. i was drawn in initially by the vegan sushi. though after taking a deeper look at the menu, i saw there was much more for us vegans. i ended up going with the plant based chicken poke bowl with no mayo (making it vegan) and extra eel sauce. this came with a side so i chose the salad with ginger dressing. i also got the veggie gyoza (pan fried). the vegan chicken was amazing. I loved this bowl so much I thought about getting it again the next day before I left. The veggie gyoza were good and so was the salad. the ginger dressing was a little too sweet for my liking but still edible. overall loved all the vegan options and loved the "chicken". read more

I have followed Sari for a few years now because I know when she has the touch if gold when it comes to good food. She opened her own place a week ago and it is everything I thought it would be. In the last week since she has opened I have been twice. I would have been a third time but she didn't open for lunch one day when a friend wanted to meet me. I have been tasting my way around the menu and have even gotten to sample some items that she is still testing out. Tonight she treated me to her crispy bok choy dish she is testing. Oh my goodness. Fried bok choy with a garlic soy sauce. I definitely hope that makes the menu. I also got to taste her drunken noodles. She uses fresh noodles and it makes such a difference. Sari takes these extra steps to make sure her dishes are amazing. If you are vegan you never have to worry. Sari uses her creativity to make unique vegan rolls and dishes. My favorite is the vegan volcano roll, but the golden roll with the spicy tofu was also delish. As for the space, she is inside Go Burrito. Walk into Go Burrito and go up the steps. To the right is the sushi bar. I love the concept of shared space with a burrito spot, a rum bar, and a sushi bar. Its a little confusing at first, but it reminds me of a place I used to go to in Charlotte that had a lot of independently owned food stalls that each offered amazing eats. I'd love to see a mash up between the two restaurants. Like sushi burritos and nachos. Yum! read more

I'm not trying to be mean or cruel in any way. I said this is not a fake review, because that's what you comment on *every* *single* *review* that isn't your friends boosting your business. You have to accept that not everybody will have a good experience at your restaurant, or will like the food. When I ate there, it *was* some of the worst Food I've ever had. The fried veggies weren't good. The rice was old. I did not like the sushi at all. The food was not quality. It was more like something I might get it at fast food Airport Restaurant. I got take out from here once and it was pretty good but not the best I've had. I got the Downtown roll and it tasted mostly fresh but it was really small.
