Nice little place. Definitely not fancy but clean and inviting. People were friendly and service was very good. Food is home made and excellent. I had the quiche which was excellent and a side of potato salad. Wife had chicken salad on croissant with tomato bisque soup. And I took an individual carrot cake to go. Personally, the chicken salad, potato salad and carrot cake while fresh and well made weren't our favorites. The chicken salad was the simple version and we prefer the versions that includes onions, celery and grapes. I'm probably too picky about potato salad. This was better than store bought, just nothing to write home about. The Carrot cake was excellent. It would have been even better if there were raisins in it. The above lunch for 2 with water and tea for one was $30.88 without tip. read more

The service is great. They have the best quiche I've ever had. Their soup beans and cornbread are also good. They usually have cake and it is phenomenal.I love eating there. It is a busy lunch spot. They check to be sure the food is good and that you are satisfied. One of the kindest ladies always comes by to say hi. They really are the nicest people and they take time to get to know you. Try it, you will love it! read more

Cranberries - Cranberries in Johnson City - Sandwiches Near Me - Johnson City, Tennessee

Best lunch place in town. Local and ran by husband and wife. Go here instead of main chains

Such a cool hole in the wall place with excellent food and some of the friendliest staff ever!

I have overlooked this place. Upon arriving the sign requested to wait to be seated. We stood there in awkward confusion waiting on the waitress to seat us. Instead she went behind the counter and asked how she could help us. Hello? We want to eat?!? I had to go to the counter to get menus. We seated ourselves. After reading the menu and the chalkboard we decided on what we would like to order. The original lady NEVER came back to help us. I had to go to the counter to place my order. We ordered the 4 cheese Quiche with tomato soup, the mushroom quiche with chicken lasagna soup and water with lemon and sweet tea. The food was out of this world. So because of the lack of service I rate four stars. This place could five star plus with properly trained employees. read more

After 5 years of living here, I just recently discovered this place and I am kicking myself that I didn't try it when I first moved. I am one of those people that if I don't eat a salad every day, I just don't feel right. This place is salad heaven. Not only do they have a garden salad, but they have a selection of prepared salads. The best part is I can eat an Oriental noodle salad and still feel healthy because its a salad. The red wine vinaigrette is my favorite dressing and I live the cranberries on their garden salad. They are like a little sweet treat. Rachel is a doll and I love all her costumes. It's great when you see a small business where the employees have fun. That energy transfers to the customers. Hm. Now I am in the mood for a salad. read more

$10 and 30 min later.... I've been going to cranberries since I was a 5 y/o. What's up with these ever-shrinking portions??? Nothing in my order required any sort of cooking, so it definitely shouldn't have taken so long to make this kind of food, even during busy hours. read more

Not only did this establishment have delicious foods (and a wide variety of them) but the service was wonderful! They take great care of their first time customers and they make returning customers feel like family. Highly recommend this restaurant! read more

My husband and I had lunch at Cranberries today. I had their chicken pecan quiche with creamy vegetable soup and my husband had half a turkey Ruben and creamy vegetable soup. Their soups are excellent. Our order arrived quickly and we had a very pleasant lunch. Everything was very good. Soup and half sandwich - $7.95, quiche and soup - $9.50 read more

Johnson city needs a real deli. My sandwich was tiny and expensive. My soup was good but not amazing. The tuna salad my daughter ordered was sad looking and fell right off the croissant. It was poorly put together. I wanted to like it but I didn't. Seems like nice people and a local Owned business. Maybe if you want a salad? But if you're looking for a good sandwich maybe drive to Asheville? I dont know. read more

I've been here well over a dozen times. They are a solid 4 in food, environment, and service. This is a deli. You order at the counter. Table service is swift and not really a format of this type of place. If you want something, let it be known. I've tried many sandwiches, but didn't find them to be great. Tuna salad, chicken salad seem to be the best. I prefer the quiches, which are all pretty tasty. The salads are fine. I'm picky about salads--theirs don't have a variety of greens and vegetables, and aren't very big, but they are always good enough. A quiche/salad combo is the best way to go. I had an issue with cleanliness for a while, but during the pandemic they have scoured the place. I'm pretty happy with this now. They've updated some furnishings, looks nice. They really have tried hard to welcome me and make me feel at home there. I've received cold soup, missed forks, had long waits, but I've worked in a similar type of restaurant so I understand and just ask for things to get rectified. They've been pretty great at doing this. And sometimes the service is simply stellar. I would recommend this place. Just know that it is run by real people who aren't perfect. They do seem genuine, not possessing a fake customer service personality. Prices are pretty average for this type of restaurant, though the servings do seem a bit smaller than expected. Then again, I don't like eating a mountain of food and I'm always full when I leave. read more

Great food. Grilled pimento cheese sandwich was delicious! Entrees come with a side dish. The potato salad was great.

Stopped in at roughly 45 minutes before close. I walked into an empty restaurant but then again it was the late afternoon at roughly 315 pm. I found Cranberries via Yelp. The reviews were good so I thought to give it a whirl. I was greeted by a woman whom I suspect is the owner. Tables were scattered about adorned with bright goldenrod picnic tableclothes. Menu was a chalkboard that listed all possibilities. I checked in and as a result was given a $1.00 off the Super Salad during my visit. I decided to go for it. I ordered the Super Salad. I selected chicken salad with two sides. I asked for the tomato bisque soup and an oriental salad along with Raspberry unsweet tea. My unsweet tea was delicious and came with a small pitcher to refill my glass. My meal arrived and the tomato bisque appears lumpy and thick. It was okay but not what I expected and not delicious. The oriental salad that I was told was all the rage was soggy and had pieces of uncooked Ramen in it. However the chicken salad was truly delicious. It's not a place I would dine at again but I was grateful for a homemade meal and friendly staff. read more

I went into JC and had lunch at my favorite place. I just love the laid back atmosphere. The fact that they support local artists and change out their art work thru out the year makes it even more enjoyable. What better way to end my doctors visit by eating great food, watching the sun shine thru beautiful stained glass and reading about the 100's of things for our seniors to do. All in an atmosphere where everyone is welcomed. read more

Wished I had not tipped prior to receiving my order. I would not have done so because they did not earn the tip. We both ordered the Super salad and teas. The tea machine was new and they couldn't work it. We waited and were not offered anything else. Had to ask for water. Other people were getting water that had ordered after us. Our order was extremely slow coming out. We had cold salads that only needed to be plated. Others were offered tea after they figured the machine out and some even got free dessert. Be a long time before I ever go back. Very poor service. read more

Today was my first visit to Cranberries! I drove past it yesterday on my lunch break and was immediately intrigued. So I stopped in today. The woman upfront was really nice and welcoming. It felt like home. I've been in the tri cities for a year, searching for a welcoming place to grab a bite. Had the chicken salad sandwich and cranberry rice and omg! They have lavender lemonade. Thank you absolutely turning my day around. It was such a heart warming experience. Definitely would recommend cranberries for a comfortable atmosphere, friendly staff, yummy food. read more

Some of the best food in the tri-cities! Great staff! Their super salad is my favorite thing there.

Cute place, simple and inexpensive menu with casual vibe. Two things I could live without: one, dirty tables (there's not really a waiting service here and that maybe why) and two, stale petite baguette pieces that come with salad. Come on, how can a sandwich joint serve rock hard, stale bread? I probably will give this place another try because the tomato feta salad is pretty bombing. read more

The food was delicious. Cheese quiche and house salad with mixed raspberry vinaigrette and blue cheese dressings. Their homemade blue cheese dressing is one of the best I have ever tasted. Thick and creamy and so full of blue cheese it won't pour ...you have to fork it on. Sadly the coffee was a let down. Weak and bland and generic. Too bad. Coffee should be every bit as robust, flavorful and delicious as the rest of the menu. read more

Can't think of a reason why I wouldn't give this place 5 stars. Fresh, delicious food and super friendly service. These folks are proud of their restaurant and they should be. It's charming as all get out AND they have WiFi! I had the cobb salad with their house made raspberry vinaigrette and everything was scrumptious (I subbed feta for the bleu cheese they offer because let's face it...a little bleu goes a long way.). I will be back here for lunch many times when I work in JC. The location is not on the main drags but it's worth the little diversion. I am going to check it out for breakfast since it's right across from my DD coffee! read more

I used to come here for the Quiche. They got me hooked on Quiche and now I'll try it about anywhere I go! The staff here was always great and made us smile a lot. read more

We found this little gem of a place when we made a wrong turn. I highly recommend it for lunch. Had chicken pecan quiche. It was delicious. The folks that run it are super friendly. Will definitely visit again when we are in the area read more

This place seemed nice enough. I though the sandwiches were decent but not spectacular. I think the thing that sealed the low rating was when the shops owner brought us boiling hot water (to warm up a bottle) and spilled some of it on me and my 2 year old. I get that accidents happen but I expected a pretty serious apology or that we'd get our meal for free or something. We got a half hearted apology and then he just avoided interacting with us. read more

The food was very fresh and the staff was incredibly courteous! It was definitely a healthy, local choice! The food tasted great and made you feel good, too! We will be coming back for sure! Expect the same prices as Panera, etc, but better and healthier choices!! read more

Owner David Read and his wife Ruth are always warm and hospitable when I visit Cranberries. A true "ladies who lunch" spot, it has a bright and light atmosphere. My colleague and I both thoroughly enjoyed our recent lunches there. The chicken salad was delicious, the fruit was fresh and the pimento cheese bread was a wonderful twist on traditional cornbread as a side. Our water glasses were kept replenished. Overall great service and taste. read more

We have heard good things so wanted to try it. The staff was very nice and the sweet tea and tomato bisque were very good. The quiche was definitely reheated in the microwave so it had a strange taste. The pasta salad was very dry and flavorless. My husband's twice baked potato was half cheese. Barely any actual potato. We will not return. read more

Been coming here off and on through the years even when it was at it's previous location. The chicken salad is always great. I have been disappointed in the other items the past few times I've gone. The salad hasn't seemed to be the choicest greens and for lettuce they don't seem to give you much. The unsweetened tea is always good. Unlike the other reviewers I really love the Oriental Salad that has the soggy ramen. It's one of my favorites. The Super Salad is a little pricey BUT I feel it's a decent value although, again, I feel like they've reduced the portions. The past few times I've gone it hasn't been consistently amazing all around but ill come back on occasion. It won't be a regular like I used to be back when they were at their other location. read more

Loved going to Cranberries the last four years I've lived in JC. Placed a catering order a month before an ETSU graduation, and the shop was closed the day of. No one contacted me to let me know the shop was closed, and it was a fairly large order. Food is usually wonderful, but very disappointed with this experience. read more

TERRIBLE COFFEE. Stopped in at lunch, had coffee and peach cobbler. The coffee was old and tasteless. The peach cobbler was overly sweet, like it came from an old can. I would rate this experience even lower except service was fine. How can anyone have a restaurant and serve bad coffee????? read more

Just moved to Johnson City, this place is right by my house and I popped in to get my wife and I some lunch yesterday. Met the owner, he was very friendly and offered some advice on what to order. Everything he recommended was great but to be honest it all looked good. Fresh and unique ingredients, we loved it. Especially the sides! Will be back again read more

This place is really good, the quiches are AMAZING! I've had the four cheese and the vege quiche and they are both delicious, not to mention the tomato bisque and the the French onion soup are both really good too. The inside of this place is really cute and you can sit and look out the window, which is pretty cool on a snowy day. read more

I have been a fan for years, but really not enjoyed my last few meals. Portion sizes have pretty much cut in half and prices are still really high. I'm a fan of smaller portion sizes, but prices should reflect them. My salad today was warm and just not appealing. The Turkey croissant was delicious. read more

Great find, hidden in an old strip mall, this place is worth a visit. Everything is fresh. I had their Cobb salad with fresh tomato dressing they make in house. It hit the spot and included avocado. The coffee was good too. I'll be back next time I'm in town. read more

Walked in to a busy room and didn't feel crowded, just like everyone knew good food. I ordered the salad trio: chicken salad, broccoli salad & cucumber tomato salad, and I've ordered it twice since. Very friendly service and I like the atmosphere. read more

Quiche was really just a lump of cheese with some spinach and egg, not very good.

The food is overpriced, the service is slow. They will charge you for the littlest things, and make you wait forever for your food. I've ordered take-out several times and it took around a half hour or more each time. How long does it take to make a salad and sandwich?? While the food tastes good, it's a waste of time and money. read more

Great food and the folks who own it are very respected in the community. Personally, I love the cornbread.
