    Water with lemon

I have overlooked this place. Upon arriving the sign requested to wait to be seated. We stood there in awkward confusion waiting on the waitress to seat us. Instead she went behind the counter and asked how she could help us. Hello? We want to eat?!? I had to go to the counter to get menus. We seated ourselves. After reading the menu and the chalkboard we decided on what we would like to order. The original lady NEVER came back to help us. I had to go to the counter to place my order. We ordered the 4 cheese Quiche with tomato soup, the mushroom quiche with chicken lasagna soup and water with lemon and sweet tea. The food was out of this world. So because of the lack of service I rate four stars. This place could five star plus with properly trained employees.

    $10 and 30 min later.... I've been going to cranberries since I was a 5 y/o. What's up with these ever-shrinking portions???

$10 and 30 min later.... I've been going to cranberries since I was a 5 y/o. What's up with these ever-shrinking portions??? Nothing in my order required any sort of cooking, so it definitely shouldn't have taken so long to make this kind of food, even during busy hours.

Stopped in at roughly 45 minutes before close. I walked into an empty restaurant but then again it was the late afternoon at roughly 315 pm. I found Cranberries via Yelp. The reviews were good so I thought to give it a whirl. I was greeted by a woman whom I suspect is the owner. Tables were scattered about adorned with bright goldenrod picnic tableclothes. Menu was a chalkboard that listed all possibilities. I checked in and as a result was given a $1.00 off the Super Salad during my visit. I decided to go for it. I ordered the Super Salad. I selected chicken salad with two sides. I asked for the tomato bisque soup and an oriental salad along with Raspberry unsweet tea. My unsweet tea was delicious and came with a small pitcher to refill my glass. My meal arrived and the tomato bisque appears lumpy and thick. It was okay but not what I expected and not delicious. The oriental salad that I was told was all the rage was soggy and had pieces of uncooked Ramen in it. However the chicken salad was truly delicious. It's not a place I would dine at again but I was grateful for a homemade meal and friendly staff.

Cute place, simple and inexpensive menu with casual vibe. Two things I could live without: one, dirty tables (there's not really a waiting service here and that maybe why) and two, stale petite baguette pieces that come with salad. Come on, how can a sandwich joint serve rock hard, stale bread? I probably will give this place another try because the tomato feta salad is pretty bombing.

Delicious broccoli and cauliflower quiche! The tomato bisque warmed my soul. Well worth the stop!

Not the French Quarter anymore…read more Place there is great but simple pub food, amazing wings. Think it is now called the broken ski grill.

** DO NOT KNOW WHY YELP CHANGED NAME TO ABOVE!!! I initially created business page under the name…read more"The French Quarter @ Sonny's Marina" as this place is located in the Johnson City area and not the Kingsport area. Right on the waters of Boone Lake... huge bar with seating for 25+ folks with 30+ tables for dining and enjoying the sun and the view... Chatted with the proprietor when me and my cousin stopped in while we were cruising the lake just before the 4th of July. Enjoyed a couple of beers. He has a nice selection of Louisiana Abita beers (Amber, Purple Haze, Turbo Dog, Andygator etc...) Several beers on tap plus good selection of bottled beer as well. Does not offer spirits or liquor however. As you would expect from the name this place has a LA flair and the proprietor advised he started cooking his version of "Louisiana cuisine" so that he could gain entry into the many festivals that are held in the Tri-City area as he pretty much is the only vendor offering "Louisiana cuisine". While we were chatting and enjoying a beverage or 3 had several couples stop in from the land side (as opposed to the water side) and sit down for a meal. My cousin and I did not partake of any menu offerings but the folks there did seem to enjoy the food that was being prepared. If you're out on Boone Lake and running toward the Johnson City side of the lake I'd highly recommend a stop in to give this place a try. Because a native Louisianian is the one writing this review and offering the recommendation!!!
