Shredded Pork Sauteed with Pickled Mustard greens
Chelsey D.

I'm gonna start off by saying that Magic Wok is a hidden gem in JC! I never would've thought little ole Johnson city would have a restaurant that served authentic Sichuan cuisine! We've dined here soooo many times since having lunch here for the first time with some friends. After trying more things on the menu here and there, I think the cumin beef, beef with chili and scallion, and shredded pork with pickled mustard greens are our favorite dishes! All dishes are served with either steamed rice or fried rice which is always cooked perfectly. They have an Americanized menu and an authentic menu, and also have daily specials as well as lunch portions and prices. Ever since moving away, I've missed eating here so much. Give them a visit and you won't regret it!

Peking Duck is the best food I've had this year and it's November!

Do yourself a favor and order the Peking duck! This place is the Star of Eastern Tennessee. Me and my wife just finished eating here for our one year anniversary and the food is well worth the 45 minute drive!

Spicy and authentic Szechuan dishes--off the Chinese menu.

Another consistently fantastic meal, NYC quality Chinese at Johnson City prices. All the veggies and meats/seafood were fresh and well cooked. The Szechuan (also spicy) flavors prevailed through all the key dishes--very similar to the renowned Peter Chang (voted best Chinese chef in the US a bit ago) that we had in Richmond VA area. If you think Tabasco sauce is spicy then be warned, as that is prob considered mild here. Apparently they have been at this location for a long while. We always order the dinner portions and share, then have good amount of leftovers next day The service is great w the young gal and the owner is awesome too. These are our favs, mostly off the Szechuan dinner menu: NA06 Scallion pancakes NB02 Cumin Beef w Cilantro (has lots o broccoli) NS02 Shiang La Shrimp (spicy ) NC05 Chicken w Scallion & Chili in Hot Plate (spicy) Noodle dish w beef that I can't recall

This was the first time I have eaten here and I was very impressed. The service was fantastic, they came around and checked on us several times throughout the meal, and were very helpful. There is a traditional Chinese menu and an Americanized-Chinese menu, I ordered off the traditional one and got the spicy chicken. It was a good amount of spice and very flavorful. The portion size of the noodles that my girlfriend got was ENORMOUS, we both ate our full and still had an entire take home container full. Very happy with the good and service

Szechuan Noodles with Beef

I have been to Magic Wok several times and it never disappoints. Fast and friendly service, huge portions, and delicious food. I got the beef with noodles from the authentic szechuan menu and it was enough for two people. Not to mention bogo beers on Friday and Saturday. I will definitely be back.

Not sure why anyone would eat here. The waitress brushed this off the table as she was seating us. Needless to say we didn't stay. On the upside it was dead

I seldom write reviews, but this Sesame Chicken is absolutely amazing. Easily the best I've ever had.

Makes me tear up because of how good it is. Perfectly tender, the sauce is strong enough maintain taste throughout chewing but not strong enough for you to get sick of it. Absolute 10/10

A hidden treasure! Work is being done to modernize the dining room and the food is top notch every time. The authentic Chinese menu is where it's at!

honestly, yuck. Zero stars, terrible food, huge let down, waste of money. Bought a large variety and not one item was decent.

The Chong Qing chicken is insanely good. It's seriously like crack, not that I do crack. Great service. Good lunch vibes.
