This was a great find for takeout Thai food and we were pleasantly surprised. The place was small and cute and customer service was great, and even though we had arrived before the takeout time they immediately started preparing our order. The food was delicious and had an authentic taste. We ordered a takeout of the green curry, pineapple fried rice and the shrimp wonton appetizer. Loved the curry n fried rice a lot. Will definitely try other items in the menu soon.

Amazing food at the new Thai Won On - wonderful hosts and free tastings from the photo shoot that was underway. The menu is traditional Thai food - many familiar items and a few specialities. Great service and friendly ambiance.

I was really excited to try this place from the positive reviews. It was not good!! The pad Thai had no flavor, like no sauce at all and was super oily. Even the crab Rangoons were really bad and tasted sour/ chunky. The delivery food also came in paper boxes? It was so soggy and messy. Really disappointed.

I have to admit, I was very intrigued by this restaurant at first. I've never seen a restaurant serve both Thai food AND British food. I don't live in Richmond, but I was in the area and decided to get lunch. This was one of the best reviewed restaurants close by so I figured I'd give it a try! The restaurant is relatively small, with maybe 6 tables inside. It seems like they do mostly to go orders. Though the restaurant is small, it was decorated very nicely and was also very clean. We talked to one of the owners and he explained that he is from England and his wife, the chef, is from Thailand. Now onto the food! I ordered the chicken pad thai and my friend ordered the fish and chips. My friend really enjoyed the fish and chips! It was a great portion as well. The chicken pad thai was incredibly flavorful and a BIG portion! I wish there was a little more spice to it, but that's just a personal preference. Thai Won On is a restaurant I'll absolutely visit again!

The wife is Thai and the husband is British so they have both foods! The Thai food was alright. They really take their spice seriously, even level 2 had a good kick. The fish and chips was good. I liked having both a curry sauce and tartar sauce. We ordered online and went to pick it up at the designated time but had to wait an additional 15 minutes.. I assume the fish and chips was the hold up. Next time I would eat it there fresh. They have very limited seating though.

Finally found this gem after reading about it on Facebook. It is the cutest, cozy little place. It would make a great first date place. The owner waited on us and was very informative. The two kids were happy with the kids menu. I had the drunken chicken and took half home. I did have to add a bit more spice but I like spicy. My daughter had soup and crispy egg rolls and said they were both yummy. I'll Be returning for sure.

I noticed a discrepancy between the amount on my receipt and what was actually charged to my card. It may have only been a small difference, but that's not acceptable under any circumstance. A dollar here or there adds up, and it raises real concerns when it appears to be a pattern. I had intentionally left a cash tip to ensure it went directly to my server, not through the business. Fortunately, I kept my receipt after hearing about similar situations happening before. When my statement came in, the charge didn't match. I called the restaurant to resolve the issue, and the floor manager said someone from management or accounting would follow up. Over a week later, I never received a call. I ended up disputing the charge with my bank. What should have been a nice Friday night dinner ended on a frustrating note. Unfortunately, that's what made the experience memorable--and not in a good way.

The Thai food here SLAPS! The dining area is fairly small, maybe about 10-12 tables, can see it filling up pretty quickly. Our server was super friendly and attentive (forgot her name) and was so nice to our noisy toddler haha. Food came out at pretty good pace and app, entrees and food didn't all come out at the same time which was nice. You HAVE to get their Thai sausage appetizer - If they made this an entree, I would get it every single time. The sausage is perfectly balanced with lean and fat and packed full of Thai flavor and spices. For my entree I got the Thai fried rice with chicken and this portion is HUGE, was able to take some home and easily serve it as another meal. The fried rice was so tasty and fried chicken was perfectly fried and came with a nice sweet and sour sauce too. My wife loved the pad se ew and got to take home her food as well. If this place was closer to us, it would be not good for our wallets. If you want delicious and authentic Thai food, look no further than Yak Yai!

When we spoke to the server about this, she seemed confused, and appeared to be somewhat new, and ultimately did not honor that happy hour prices of our drinks that ended up showing up 30 minutes later. Furthermore, one drink that I ordered was regular price, but the price listed on the menu was incorrect, and again the server would not the lower price that was printed on the menu. I was not informed of this error until the receipt was printed. The ramen itself was fine. I've had better, I've had worse.
