I got the drunken noodle with chicken ($15) lvl2 spice and a duck basil ($22) spice lvl 3. The food came out in about 15 mins. The duck basil was fried and absolutely delicious, probably some of the best I've had in Richmond! The sauce was good, just not enough spice. The drunken noodle was also very solid! Savory and delicious, it surprisingly was a little tad more spicer then the duck basil, but no where near hot. The portion size is a smaller compared to other Thai spots, but the price also reflects it. Overall this was a very solid Thai place, and that Duck basil was indeed worth trying! I do not recommend this restaurant based on my experience. I was visiting from California for work travel and was genuinely looking forward to trying this place, but both of my DoorDash orders were extremely disappointing and showed a lack of reliability. The first order was completely mishandled and given to the wrong Dasher, resulting in me never receiving my food at all. The second time, the restaurant was out of the tiger steak I specifically ordered, which was the main reason I chose to try this place again. After two failed attempts in one week, it's hard to justify recommending this restaurant. For a business that relies on consistency and proper order fulfillment, my experience fell far below expectations and left me disappointed during my last week in town. read more

A recent addition to the RVA food options, in Downtown. Take a flight of stars to the basement restaurant. Lots of cute decor and a full bar. Host/ Server was so super nice. We came for a late lunch. There is a lunch menu with smaller portions ranging from $13-$18 My go-to Pad Z Ew with tofu was good. I've had better and I'm kinda a snob when it comes to this noodle. The broccoli was crunchy and cooked well. The noodles a bit too soggy for my taste. There was a fair amount of fried tofu. The spice level was 2 and it was a "sprinkle"of chili peppers. The chicken satay came with 4 very thin pieces of chicken breast. Tip- unsweetened ice tea in a small glass is $3 each and no refills. They will charge you another $3 if you ask for another glass. The food was ok like 3/5. Very nice ambiance. Prices high. Reason for 2 star is because they lied to me. Came on a Saturday. When we were seated we were told happy hour goes until 7:30, which the sign outside also showed. So I ordered some happy hour drinks and apps. When the bill came we were charged full price. I asked the server and he said happy hour only goes until 7. It's only a few bucks but I feel like they stole from me. read more

Came on February 13 and thankfully they had spots! This place sees relatively new too. Loved the decor and vibes they had here. They even let us take some of their Valentine's Day balloons! The food was super good, even though the wait time for the food was long (they did warn us about it in advance). They seemed to have a nice selection of drinks too, which I wish I could have tried. I do think they're legit with their spice levels, although my food wasn't as spicy as I wanted for 4/5 level. Probably hard for my dish to consume as much spice. Staff were friendly and kind. Kin-D, a Thai restaurant, opened a few months ago in the Shockoe Slip. I hosted an event recently with 10 people and the service was excellent! Tammy, the manager, was easy to work with in terms of getting the reservation and logistics sorted ahead of time. We had our own section/room to ourselves. Throughout dinner our server, Antony, was attentive and handled our (admittedly rowdy) group so well. Their happy hour deals are great! It's every day from 5-7pm and includes a variety of starters and drinks. We tried a ton of their drinks, appetizers, entrees, and desserts - it was all delicious. I will say they seem to be quite heavy handed with spice so I'd be cautious picking any dishes with the chili indicator if you don't have a tolerance. Our server mentioned that my dish was level 2 spice at the lowest by default, which I thought I could handle but I was soo wrong. Street parking can be limited but there is a garage nearby. Lastly, I love the meaning behind their name. They say in Thai 'kin' means 'to eat' and 'dee' means 'well', and it's also 'kind' in English, so their name expresses their philosophy to eat well and live kindly. read more

We had just arrived in Richmond after driving from New York. We really like good Thai food and this place seemed to offer it. Plus it was very close to our hotel. No driving, just a short walk. The restaurant had only been open for a month, but was exceptional. The food was really very good as was the service. The place is nicely decorated. I was like Wow! Once I entered inside the restaurant. It felt like I was in an art gallery that's showing Thailand's story. The food was incredible, especially the authentic taste of Tom Yum hotpot soup that I couldn't find this taste in any other places in the states. The shrimp donuts were delicious- crispy, juicy and flavorful in the same time. The clay pot mixed was.. O-M-G!!! Don't forget the Mango Sticky Rice at the end to complete your Thai meal. I tried the Drunken Noodle Chicken and the Massamun Curry Chicken and both were phenomenal. The noodles had the perfect texture, and the Massamun curry was unbelievably creamy. We went here for a birthday dinner and it was 10/10 on every level. Great atmosphere. It was decorated so fun for Halloween! Our server, Catie, could not have been more perfect. Came around at all the right times, was so genuine, and gave great recommendations. Our party tried several cocktails including the KinD Thai, Muay Thai mule, Tom Yum kick and Chaing Mai Kiss. The KinD Thai being my favorite, but the tom yum kick was also delicious and definitely spicy! Both tom yum and tom kha soups were every last drop delicious. Some of the best tom kha I've had. For dinner we had a few dishes we took turns sharing. Massaman with seafood, garlic veggies and crispy chicken, pineapple fried rice, drunken noodles and pad Thai all different and lovely.
