    Fresh Spring Roll with Shrimp

I came in the other day on a Saturday and service was OK. What really lost me as a customer was in the middle of eating when the server came and dropped off the bill we weren't even done eating yet. Then when I paid was rushing us out. I understand they close for an hour which is not good for business but I've never been rushed out during eating before especially paying $85. I was a loyal customer and I will take the trip to further businesses. It's no wonder this place is always dead.

Spacious seating (just before the dinner rush)

Located outside the immediate downtown of Placerville, but not too far, Thai Unique is worth the drive over. It's got its own parking lot and spacious seating. When I visited on Fathers Day, i arrived just as they opened for their dinner menu (which starts at 4.) 3 other parties arrived shortly after and another 5 or 6 takeout orders were being picked up. My point being, this place is popular with locals! Nice decor and ambiance made it a pleasant experience and the food was excellent. I ordered the tofu and veggie ginger and a side of rice. My boyfriend got their pineapple fried rice. Portions were generous. It was on the pricey side for dinner, so a definite splurge but they do have lunch specials until 3. Make note they do close between 3-4 if you plan a visit, Overall, a solid choice in Placerville and while I don't come to this area often, I'd opt to dine here again.

Best Papaya Salad in town, and I love how spicy it comes, definitely a great place to chow down on authentic Thai food and it comes with great service guaranteed from my own experience! (:

The food is pretty good, I order Pad Thai with Tofu and Vegetables spicy! Serving size is average or a tad small compared to other restaurants I've been to. Staff is nice and the atmosphere is welcoming.

We were a group of 11, and I had to say our experience was very similar to another reviewer here, (Elite Marlane R.) The guy punk white dude taking our order was also the one bringing out the food, and his attitude was honestly shocking. When we politely asked if we could switch coffee to Coke, he immediately said no in a loud, irritated tone, saying Coke costs more than coffee. For us, the price difference wasn't even an issue, it was the way he spoke to us that felt disrespectful. At one point, I was just looking toward the door, and he suddenly asked me, "What are you looking at?" in a loud voice, as if I was staring at him. It was uncomfortable and unnecessary, especially since it drew attention from everyone around. Despite the poor service, we still made the effort to clean up after ourselves, busing our plates and making sure the table was neat before leaving. To the owner of Thai Noodle Express, I hope you can train your staff on how to properly treat customers. Good service goes a long way. On top of everything, the Pad Thai did not taste authentic. Very disappointing overall. I wouldn't recommend this place based on our experience.

We were not in a hurry and were told around 6 minutes for our order (which seemed way too quick). It took about 20 minutes which, again, was absolutely fine because we were in no rush. But a better expectation should be set. Also, they were out of the ingredients for at least 3 of the pies and the dough on the Ireland was a bit undercooked on the edge. The interior is very small with one table (3 seats) and a counter (2 seats). The business is attached to and run by the same people who own the Enchanted Forest. The decorations are fake ivy leaves and fake bark with moss on the walls and ceilings. Unfortunately, these things are difficult to keep clean and, therefore, carry a hefty amount of dust in the Enchanted Forest side where the restroom is located. Also, the fan in the Pastry shop looks like it has not been cleaned in 10 years. The employee handled dirty plates with the same gloved hand that he then used to continue making our food. Not sure I would return.

This restaurant is Americanized. The Good news, there's plenty of parking in the shopping area. The ambience is very cute with Thai decorations. Service was fast. Their Thai tea was very good and a great start. The Bad news... we started off with their Tom Kho soup. It lacked flavor and I didn't see any Thai herbs: like lemongrass, kaffir leaves or galanga. The soup was mostly broth. It lacked the coconut milk. Next, we ordered their Spicy Green Beans with Beef. OMG, their beef was extremely chewy and thick slices. It was not tender at all. It was the worst beef ever! However, the green beans and carrots with the sauce were good. Their Massaman Curry had a weird flavor and too sweet. It tasted like Indian curry verses Thai. We were very disappointed with the food.

Please ignore the fact that the red curry bowl is half empty, it was just so amazing we forgot to take a photo before eating. Also please try the fresh shrimp rolls - super flavorful. Overall, this is a really great spot, a lot of spaces in this shipping center have a quick turn over but with the service it looks like it will be here for years to come! There's take out option so if you want dinner or something quick. I most likely will be coming here when I get a chance to come back to visit family.

Yay! Our new favorite lunch place on Main Street!…read more We just stopped by last weekend, we've been wanting to try this place out but it just hadn't happened.... Last Monday we decided to have lunch there, one of our regular places is closed Mondays and this place was open so we checked it out...and we're SO SO glad we did! Atmosphere was nice and server was very friendly from the moment we walked in. First thing I noticed; $5 mimosas!! I asked if they did anything other than orange juice and yes, they had several other options so I had the cranberry version. Delicious! I went with their mac and cheese, my partner got the basic hamburger. Mac and Cheese -- definitely very bacon forward, much more than I prefer. That being said, I still liked it, it also had sour cream and green onion on top. Bacon lovers will LOOOVE this version, there is LOTS of it and every bite you can taste it. Normally I prefer my mac & cheese with no bacon or just a bit here and there, I prefer to taste more of the cheeses.....again, it still tasted good, its a good serving and I ate half and had enough to save for the next day at work. Creamy and well made, again I just prefer to taste more cheese than bacon. I wouldn't order this again but like I said, a bacon lover will LOVE this version. Now, my partner's burger was Incredible. We are PICKY with our burgers, and we both thought this one was fantastic. Big, and great ratio to the bun. He ordered it medium and asked for "a little char" and they made it perfectly. I took a bite and yeah, I'd order that for sure. The fries were great, too. Overall we were super happy with our lunch, I thought it was priced fairly as well. We will definitely be back!!

I'll give 2* because the food (when it came) was great…read more We've been to Franny's a couple times before and had O.K. service and good food. The pitfalls of the restaurant seem to be entirely the service. Most recently we went to Franny's on Mother's Day. We had reservations and walked in, on time. We were initially sat in a nice booth in the front of the restaurant. It was my wife and I plus our 2 kids, the table size seemed appropriate. After being sat, we sat without talking to a server for 10+ minutes, not even getting waters. Eventually, when someone did come, it was a waitress/hostess telling us that there had been a mix up, and we needed to move. We weren't excited on the idea, as we were happy where we were, but we moved to the back of the restaurant. This time we sat for 15 minutes without being acknowledged by any wait staff. At this point it is 9:25 and we've been seated for 25 minutes without even water. Finally a waitress comes, and takes our drink order, and our food order as we'd definitely had ample time to look over the menu. About 9:50 the food arrives. My wife and kids' food comes and is great. My food comes and looks off, and the waitress tells me that the kitchen accidentally made me a "veggie" scramble instead of the chorizo that I had ordered, but that she'd get me some bacon and all was well. I asked what was in the veggie scramble and was told it has mushrooms, which is a hard pass for me. She told me she could have what I had actually ordered made but it would "take a long time". I said O.K. - what else was I going to do? Finally it comes, and my wife is done eating, and the kids are close, so, I asked for it to be "boxed up". The waitress rolled her eyes and set to the task. I'm not a restaurant snob - but I really expected an apology or something to be "comp'd" due to the rough experience, but nope, full bill and no apology. Regrettably, despite Franny's being a local joint and having good food, we won't be back.

My mom brought us here over this past weekend during their lunch hour and everything we ordered was top notch (and included a simple salad with the most awesome peanut dressing!!) We ordered: the spring rolls (just veggies) but wow!!!!! The veggies were so crisp and fresh, the wrapper so chewy and the tamarind and peanut dipping sauces were so flavorful and full of zest! It was absolutely delicious Papaya salad was top notch! We got medium spicy and the spice was perfect. Everything was full of flavor and crunch Thai fried rice was delicious! Perfect for Littles who do not eat spicy. We added shrimp and my son inhaled it. Tom yum soup with shrimp was hands down the best! I love spicy food but due to kids I couldn't order it too spicy but it was a tiny bit of kick and was loaded with mushrooms and shrimp and I could totally see and taste all the lemon grass. It was amazing !!! Pad See Ew with beef was top notch. Noodles were chewy, beef was tender with the delicious crisp burnt edges, everything about it was heaven Pad Thai with chicken was good, a little sweet for me but my dad loved it! Friendly vibes. Beautiful interior exuding an elevated casual ambiance. The food order came out super quick. Hot 'n fresh. I ordered the lunch special - chicken yellow curry. $15.95. It came with a side of rice. If I dined in, it would have came with a side salad. Playing it safe with the heat level. I chose the yellow curry since it's typically the mildest of Thai curries. I could taste the flavors of lemongrass and coconut milk. The chicken was thinly sliced like fajita slices, but much thinner. I'm totally down with visiting again and trying out other items.
