Chicken drunken noodles and green curry with chicken
    Munsa M.

Me and my bf came here to grab a quick bite and the food was excellent! We got the chicken drunken noodles and the green curry with chicken with a 3/5 spice level for both. The food seemed freshly made since it came out piping hot and the service was relatively fast considering that. Everything was really well seasoned and nice and spicy!! We were definitely full after each getting an entree. We will definitely be back!!

Picture might not do it justice... but I NEED y'all to know- this truly might be some of the best Thai I've ever had. The Green Curry was one of the most delicious curries, with a spice level that rises at first and then plateaus, complimenting the meal perfectly. It also stays piping hot so it's great to eat there or to-go! $12 for a really good serving, I ended up having leftovers and ate twice! Seriously, cannot recommend this place enough.

There were no prices on the menu, which is really exciting because I love surprises. The surprise was that the price is similar to what you'd get at a sit-down restaurant, and the quality was definitely not comparable. The parking lot was extremely small and tight, and there were only two tables next to the food truck. I had the drunken noodles and they were not good. They were somehow spicy but without any flavour.

We got the brisket, pulled duck, house sausage, house boudin, the crawfish cornbread stuffing, and the mac & cheese. I think the brisket was my favorite, but I also liked the boudin--it was my first time having it. We also wanted to try the duck because you don't see that at many barbecue places it was good. It had a nice citrusy marinade. The mac & cheese was really good too. They were sold out of the dessert, but I would've gotten that as well. This food truck is located at the Austin Beer Works on Springdale. There's lots of outdoor seating and indoor seating as well. The birria special is a must get of course. The consomme is so delicious, (it kind of reminded me of pho) and the birria tacos were so good. They fill that thing all the way up! And the meat and cheese ratio is perfect. We also got the birria reuben. Also so good, it was a nice mix of tender meat and the sauerkraut with the golden buttery bread. Plus the fries were so addicting. Truly the crispiest fries I've ever had. The caramel churros were the perfect finish. So hot and fresh with the caramel inside. And it was surprisingly not too sweet. Only downside is that their seating area is literally one table in the hot sun, so I definitely see this as more of a takeout spot and you just eat at home.

The consomme was also quite good and came in a solid portion; not the most flavorful, but still quite good. 2 spicy sauces provided on the side, as well as option for lime and radishes. All in all, definitely recommend this spot! The food is very tasty; I would especially recommend the Quesabirria!

ABSOLUTE BANGER OF TX BBQ! Here's why:…read more Arrived at 11:05AM to beat any possibility of a crowd; still wasn't the first customer, but definitely in the TOP 5. For my order, I got an order of the Za'atar & Pomegranate Glazed Pork Ribs ($17), 1 Lamb Chop ($9.50), and an Egyptian Mac n' Cheese (made COWBOY - added smoked brisket) ($15). Total came to $41.50. First of all, the space is spacious! There are two areas for eating outside --- and although I never went "inside", I did see a building with people going in-and-out of, I assume that's part of the establishment as well? A good amount of fans to keep you comfortable during your stay which is a nice touch. Let's go to the food: I had to give the mac n' cheese the first try --- I've been disappointed too many times before. LOVED IT! First of all, KG BBQ use shells for their mac, and it's not just "queso" --- its seasoned, has some tomato in it, and when it's made "Egyptian" --- you add that beautiful amount of brisket and sauce which just enhance the whole dish. The ribs were also phenomenal. They were fall off the bone tender, but not fragile in any way. The marinade was amazing, and topped with pieces of pomegranate and served with some spiced onions, it's the COMPLEXITY. Often times with TEXAS BBQ, it gets heavy quick. Having these contrasting yet complimentary flavors just makes you want to eat more! It's a complete sensory experience, visually, smell, and taste. The famous lamb chop was also amazing, and served with a little herb concoction on the side that is again --- needed --- to cut through the richness of the meat and fattiness. I've heard some complaints from food bloggers which is valid: there is a good amount of fat on each of these chops, so you better SAVOR the meat on that chop! It'll be done in a few bites! Only feedback? Food temp. It wasn't cold, but it wasn't hot either. In any case, I was thoroughly pleased by KG BBQ and you should definitely pay a visit!

We parked and headed toward the food truck, and it turned out to be a fantastic find! Today, we tried the lamb chops, pomegranate pork ribs, salad, and cardamom pistachio rice pudding. The lamb chops were a bit mild in flavor, but the pomegranate pork ribs exploded with taste, definitely surpassing Stiles Swirch. The salad was a bit salty and looked like it was prepared the day before. However, the highlight was the cardamom pistachio rice pudding--I could enjoy that all day long!

Just to be clear, I AM somewhat of a subject matter expert. I have eaten all manner of fried dough creations from coast to coast, including Hawaii, and I have a lot to say on the topic. My favorite is still Cider Belly in Albany, NY, but I digress. The PB&J donut here is one of the best things I have ever eaten. I dragged it out for 3 days. Even semi-stale, and reheated in the microwave, it was still delicious. I put a scoop of Blue Bell vanilla ice cream on it which definitely helped. I also ordered a Heavenly Hash (one of my favorite ice cream flavors BTW) and a Naughty and Nice because I am all about the classics. They were both outstanding. No leftovers. I bought these donuts in lieu of birthday cake this year which may become my new tradition. Honestly, I think these are my new favorite donuts in Austin now.

Doughnuts made to order out of an airstream, you say?…read more Looks like they used to offer mini versions but that side of the menu is all mask taped over. When we went our choices were $9-$10 donut base desserts. I say base because the toppings cover up the donut visually. Despite that, there's no covering that scrumptious taste and texture. Wowaweea. Yes, you feel your cells expand and pants tighten and it is for sure run club pre and post, but quite worth it. These divine donuts have that cakey interior I love so much. We had the Puddin': cream cheese icing, vanilla pudding, fresh bananas with nilla wafers. According to the menu. Ours didn't have any nilla wafers and the presentation was uneven, hence the four stars. I didn't miss the wafers. The icing and pudding were one goopy topping and the bananas slices were half scattered slices and half banana chunk that I had to separate. Side notes: Gourdough sits on a corner with parking spots that are not free. There's a pay via QR code so you'll need a phone or something to scan that. Boo for digital shackles. Next note- I feel like this is a low key meet up spot. Like the way they tried to make the first train cars on the MTA the singles car? There was a series of singles getting doughnuts and they were a little done up for the occasion. Who knows. With the little IG ready love seats and doughnuts made for sharing, you could walk away with extra sugar.
