Well this was an experience. You walk up to the exterior of the restaurant (from outside) and it says to use the other door. You'll enter the mall and it's on the right. We were informed by another guest that it's just sit wherever floats your boat there is no sign just open booths. Eventually the lady arrived and brought a menu and some water. It's awkward - like so awkward it makes you uncomfortable. So we ordered like 15 minutes after she brought water and attempted to order the crab curry only to be told they don't have that. There is also no kids menu. The service is lacking; I think there are only two people running the whole restaurant. On to the important part... the food. The spring rolls were excellent and fresh. The peanut sauce is super. I felt like I should have ordered like 10 orders of them they were so good!! We tried the chicken satay and it had great flavor and again the peanut sauce is very flavorful. The red curry came with a side of rice and it was actually very spicy!! Eye watering - which is what we asked for! On a bad side it was soupy and runny which is not what I expected. The meat in the curry was not well seasoned and it was dry and lacking in flavor. The clay pot shrimp was not as spicy. It was very nice but very plain next time I will lean toward a 2 spicy level or maybe even a 1 but it reminded me of something I would serve with corned beef. If I went again I would go for the appetizers only. Oh then there is the bathrooms... they're filthy and like half way through the mall. Probably hold it and go home. Let me start with the good. Food was good. Good enough. I enjoyed the pad se ew with chicken. The boba? not good. But the food my group ordered had no BIG complaints. The bad: Its terrible inside. The floors, seating, aesthetics, just not great. But all that might be overlooked had it not been for the absolute awful garbage service we had. This is the first time we had to argue with a server about what specifically was ordered. We ordered Fried shrimp. And she kept trying to shove a fried RICE shrimp dish on us. We kept telling her no, thats not what we ordered. she proceeded to repeat "fried shrimp" and we said yes (for context its an appetizer but no where did we say, RICE) And she proceeded to push this dish, we did not order, on our table. Rude service and ofcourse I did not get my appetizer. Additionally, we got there before another party of 4 showed up but their order was taken first. Sorry but if you're rude and dont speak english well dont argue with us if you cant tell the difference between shrimp fried rice and fried shrimp. read more

A little gem in Carson City. While on assignment, our group had a craving for Thai food. Unsure of our options we turned to Yelp and google maps and noticed that Thai Thai was close by. We had one person order a spicy fried rice, another order their pad Thai, and I myself choose the pad see ew. None of us were disappointed!! My pad see ew was seasoned nicely. Amble amount of vegetable with your choice of meat/tofu. You can also choose your level of heat/spice from 1 to 5. Everything was so well balanced and the ingredients were super fresh. Veggies were super tender! The customer service is also amazing. If you get a chance to talk to the owners drop in and say hi! They make great recommendations and suggestions. Well the food was actually good. But the restaurant was weird and very not covid friendly. It looks very large and nice from the outside but you have to go into the strip mall to enter. The actual LARGE restaurant is NOT open to sit inside. They have a few tables completely next to each other in the strip mall. It made me feel so stressed to even order take out you have to stand in between everyone's table as they are eating. The food took so long like 40 mins and they forgot the thai iced tea. Went back and got it but it was still annoying. Maybe the wait was because we ordered Khao Soi which prbly takes longer. I had the pad thai and the flavor was right. I haven't found anything else in Carson that has the correct pad thai flavor (tamarind type). The experience was just annoying. read more

Great location for decent Thai food. I'm not a Thai-guy. I think I will be, now. This woman was incredibly sweet and helpful. She also shot the bull with us. I love that! That said, it's strange to see stacked tables and chairs. Thanks Covid. Thai Thai has huge portions and great fried rice. We split something called the King George which Mrs. E says is a variation of Pad Prik King. Absolutely wonderful. I felt the prices a bit high. Probably reasonable for the quality and quantity. Remember how cheap (frugal) I can be. Again, our hostess was super friendly and displayed concern over people not seeing her signage and passing by. It's a blessing and a curse to be in a mall wedged between Schat's, Fransisco's and Bella Vita. It's my theory that by month's end, all will be right as rain. 5/20 read more

I met with some friends last night at Thai-Thai. Usually when I go into a Thai restaurant, I just ordered the standard Phad Thai, but the restaurant was slow and the owner, Kong, really took some time to explain the dishes to our party We ordered four different entrées and it was served timely. Every entrée was spot on. Kong made everyone in our party feel like we were the only customer in the building. A small restaurant run by a wife and husband team. But the personalized service and the authentic Thai dishes took my breath away. Kong the owner and his wife are a great team. She cooks and he is an excellent host. I found the place by accident and am extremely glad I did. The sea food soup was delicious with scallops, shrimp, calamari, fish and mussels. quite spicy, but that's the way I like it. The whole pomfret cooked in a garlic chilli sauce was fresh, tender and delicious. I felt I was in Bangkok at the seafood market. After being disappointed with three Carson City Thai restaurants, my wife and I were thrilled to find San Francisco-quality Thai food at Thai Thai (on Stewart St.) two nights ago. The chicken sate appetizer came with an excellent peanut sauce and a delightful little salad condiment. The Pad Thai was perfect, as was the Panang curry. There was plenty of meat in both appetizers. I've spent several months in Thailand eating mostly street food, so I was thrilled to find Roti on the dessert menu. This is usually a small, chewy pancake with sweetened condensed milk poured on top. At Thai Thai "RO-TEE" was raised to an art form. It seemed to be a cross between Thai Street food and French Cordon Blu pastry perfection. Adding to our enjoyment was the enthusiastic owner/chef/waiter who owns the place with his wife. He was deservedly proud of what he served. When he learned that we were going to take home half of the main courses for dinner the next day, he thoughtfully brought us extra rice to go with the curry. read more

The food has always been incredible and I am so lucky to be able to call this restaurant a local master of comfort food. I might even say that my husband and I indulge in this delicious food too often lol In my opinion, the best Thai Food in town by far It's run by two incredibly kind people whose expertise and kindness will put you at ease, small town style, and whose food emanates the love they clearly devote to the craft. Food was actually good but the service was lacking. We (party of 4, plus our newborn) entered and given how small it is in there, we weren't sure where to sit since we had a stroller. The Hispanic older lady waitress kind of just stood there and made no effort to accommodate us, so we were left to figure out how to squeeze ourselves in one of their very cramped booths. We sort of occupied two booths but hey, we received no help. Strike one. Once seated, the same lady took forever to get our order. She ended up taking the order of a party who came AFTER us, so this was strike two. My wife and friends' moods were gradually being brought down by the lack of decent service. We had to eye the waitress and finally flag her down to ensure she came and took her order. She finally takes our order and the food comes out in batches - I WILL say once our order was taken, the food came out rather quickly so that was good. My wife ordered the fried shrimp appetizer but the waitress brings over fried rice with shrimp. We let her know that's not what we wanted. She insists that when she repeated the order to us, we confirmed what she repeated to us - apparently she repeated fried rice with shrimp to us. She actually wanted to force the incorrect dish on us and I had to firmly tell her no and that if she did in fact repeat fried rice with shrimp to us, then it was her error for writing down the incorrect item. Again, she kept insisting we confirmed it when she repeated it but I kept saying no - ma'am, we did not order this. I cannot accept a dish we do not intend to consume. Additionally, I understand servers repeat orders for a reason but at the end of the day, it is not the customer's job to make sure order takers do their job correctly. Anyway - She finally gave up and took the incorrect dish away. Strike three. To make matters even worse, the fried shrimp appetizer ny wife wanted wanted was never brought out. Thankfully we were never charged for it. It is a real shame too because I really enjoyed my dish - I had the fried rice with chicken, spice level 2 and it was some of the best fried rice I've ever had - this is coming from sometime from Los Angeles where you can find really good fried rice in many spots - but unfortunately this experience ruined this place for my wife - understandably so. The egg rolls were also very savory. Probably the best egg rolls I've had here in Carson. If it wasn't for the awful service, we'd be ecstatic to go back. This place is conveniently located yet can be out of the way for others or missed because of the Pastry Place and other restaurants. When I went Covid was over or dissipating yet they wouldn't let you inside the restaurant. You were in the building with seating outside in the corridor? Not a problem but for those who are fed up with the whole Covid thing, could be frustrating. Was my first time there and was offered a special chicken dish that was only offered that day. Thinking it was for the employees but there may have been extra portions left. Decided to take it and wasn't familiar with the dish to rate it against others, wouldn't buy it again as it tasted plain. Got the extra portion of Pad Thai which is their #1 customers choice. It was good, kinda sweet yet lots of flavors from different ingredients. Would definitely get this again, the extra helping for $4 or so more gave two meals. read more

I'm only writing a review because out of the two encounters we've attempted to eat here have been unsuccessful. The first, my family and I came when their sign said open. We entered and the owner was sitting down watching something on a tablet with who I believe was his significant other, and told us they were closed.. cool. The second encounter, we came hungry during dinner. There was live music outdoors so we asked the waitress if we can order our food and sit outside and the waitress said "No, just inside or in the tables out in the hall." We asked if we could see a menu and she said we are only accepting cash... okay. Turned around and went elsewhere. Maybe we'll give this place another shot in the future, when they're indeed open, and we have cash on us. Anything else we should know before coming here? Haha read more

Very disappointed! I ordered two bobas and I got two half full, warm, syrupy liquids, the straws aren't even cut long enough. It looks like someone drank out of them already. When I did try it the boba was horrible, it was mushy and just disintegrated. I also ordered pad Thai which wasn't the best, but $40 for two drinks and an entree is ridiculous. Went back to Thai Thai today, and it was just "eh". The chicken in the Pad See Eew didn't taste charred which was good, but it wasn't as tender as last time, and the noodles weren't as tender as last time either. One thing worth mentioning is that the restaurant only has five tables and one server working. I'm not sure how many cooks they have, but today our wait after ordering was 30 minutes. Maybe next time I visit my parents I will skip getting food here. read more

My husband and I love Thai food and were looking forward to trying the food here. Unfortunately, we both were extremely disappointed. The meat was dry, in the drunken noodles there was little flavor (I tasted vinegar), and the pad Thai made me gag. We spent $75.00 for takeout and ended up throwing the food away. Bathroom location is a negative, unless you don't mind leaving your belongings at the table far from the bathroom. The Pad Thai had a good flavor, but the noodles were very tough. I did not get a refill on my iced tea even though it was empty. Time to pay, she came to the table with her tablet and stood there and announced $16.04. So I paid then.... after I paid, they barricaded the doors and put up a sign saying back at 2:00. So no chance of getting a tea refill. An odd place. read more

More like a 3.5 star rating. My family decided to meet my husband for lunch here. There was 4 of us. The inside of the restaurant isn't open. You must go in the mall and their seating is to the right. Basically outside in the indoor mall area. Another group of 6 came in at around the same time. Their lunch special isn't really a great special. Their price is higher then other places we've been to. The server was nice. All our orders were all coming in at the same time as the other table and she was having a hard time figuring out which belongs to who. Our table got 2 of the 4, the other table got 4 of the 6. We all waited to start eating. We finally got the rest in about 5 minutes. The other table got 1 more but 1 guy had to ask about his. I think she forgot to put it in or they were still making it. Food was very good once we got it. Unfortunately price and slowness of getting the food, not sure if we will come again since my husband's lunch time is limited. Stopped in here close to closing time on our way to Tahoe. All the food was amazing. The peanut sauce is very unique compared to other places in a good way. The red curry was delicious. My partner and I decided to try Thai Thai on a whim. Glad we did! The food was tasteful and served hot! The peanut sauce is by far some of the best we've experienced. We also ordered chicken spring rolls which were delicious. In reading other reviews there are some comments about the owners demeanor etc. one thing to consider is that it is likely a cultural difference vs individual perception. The owners are the only ones running the restaurant, from hostess to cook. They are friendly and more than willing to make your dining experience delightful. The reason I am rating 4 stars instead of 5, is that the ambiance and dining experience as a whole could be better. They have a nice restaurant space and should indulge in that. Our tables were in the front entry in the mall and it felt very "unusual" Overall I would eat there again! For reference we ordered the yellow curry and Pa Ram. We also ordered a Thai tea which sadly the owner forgot... Give it a chance read more
