We visited on New Year's Day, when not a lot was open--and we'd been stuck in our apartment through the holidays, and just had to get out. Overall, we enjoyed it. The place is very cozy, with only about nine tables. They seem to do a brisk delivery business as well. I like the theme of airports/flights although it seems like it might have taken a backseat in intervening years which is just as well. Our service was warm, friendly and efficient. The food is just a touch better than to be expected from a bog-standard Thai place with the usual staple dishes. We had pad see ew with chicken and a yellow curry with tofu, and both were really nice. Food arrived to the table hot and clearly freshly prepared, and serving sizes were reasonable. It's strange to say that in one of the biggest, most populous cities in the world there are still a handful of cuisines it's hard to come by. In NYC there are a handful of Thai standouts, but not many. This is definitely one of the better ones and we'll return for sure. read more

Hanging with a friend, we impulsively decided to stop in to get some lunch before heading back home. Love the decor! The walls were covered with baskets, art and random kitchen utensils and pots. So fun! The waitress/hostess greeted us immediately and led us to our seats. Given that we were the first customers of the day (they had just opened), we pretty much had the pick of the tables. Settling in our seats, she handed us the menus and glasses of water. I LOVED their Bangkok chicken wings. Both crunchy and tender, it was a great start to the meal, followed quickly with the spring roll and the dumplings. The sauces were great and complimented the appetizers well, with a lovely, balanced flavor. My friend ordered the Pad Thai noodles, which she reported as being delicious, and I went with the waitress' suggestion of the Sautéed Healthy Ginger meal, which came with rice in a heart shape. Everything was so good, and the flavors were rich and deep. We happily munched our way through our meal, and the waitress kept stopping by to top off my water anytime it fell to half-full. She was so attentive and kind, and we made sure to express our appreciation in our tip. Wanted to share, so opted for the Papaya Salad ($9ish) and the Crispy Duck over Rice ($17). Salad is thankfully a small portion, stacked with beans, carrots, roasted nuts, tomato, and papaya. Refreshing flavor and a good light meal. Duck is well portioned, crispy skin on the outside and juicy in the middle. Not much seasoning in the meat, so it needs a lot of help with side sauces. I got the green curry with which was delicious. It came with white rice and the sauce was sweet and savory with a generous portion of chicken. Most dishes are around $15 and the drink deals were great! $6 wines and $8-9 cocktails. I got the lychee mojito which was made with sake and it was so good! The portions were pretty big so I ended up having leftovers. The restaurant itself is pretty small so there's not much space inside for you to wait for a table to open up. This place is a convenient staple for me- it consistently delivers great flavors and good portion sizes. I have done pick-up a couple of times this semester after not having Thai food for what felt like years. Even though they have a delicious and expansive menu, I stuck with my favorite which is Pad Thai with shrimp But really, it was just an excuse to get Thai Tea. I was willing to take the risk as a semi-lactose intolerant individual. I needed that thai tea. When I came in (and had to walk through the entire restaurant in my sweatpants) an employee confirmed my name and handed me a brown to-go bag that I blindly believed housed the Thai tea. I was greatly mistaken. To be fair, it was an honest mistake that I didn't realize once it was too late (for me bc I was not willing to leave again) but I really was craving that $5 thai iced tea, still have not had one. Mango Juice (5/5): After seeing others on Yelp recommend those we had to try it. There is a lot of mango nectar flavor, plus whole mango chunks. Yum!! Spring Roll (5/5): These had the perfect crunch. Excellent filling. Sauce was a tad too sweet so we made our own dip dip sauce using soy sauce, vinegar, and spicy chili oil. Galanga Tom Kha Soup (5/5): This was one of the better Tom Kha soups I've had. The coconut base is so creamy (and vegetarian for any vegetarians out there -- confirmed with the restaurant). This is chok full of veggies like green bean, broccoli, leafy green, baby corn, carrot, and mushroom. Highly recommend! Mango Salad (4/5): This salad is mostly the first word, mango. There is so much of it. I'm not mad. There is beautiful julienned carrot and red onion. Wish there was a little more leafy green and dressing but otherwise very tasty. I really love Thai Terminal! They are a good spot in the neighborhood, are fairly priced, attentive staff, and a fun Thai ambiance. Food portions are great, and they have a relatively inexpensive drink menu. I usually get the red curry, which is consistently good. This time I got the calamari and chicken wings which were two great appetizers. I would love it if they had dumplings that didn't have shrimp in them, but other than that I enjoy everything about them. Very rude cashiers, the lady hung up on me when I called today @7:42pm and was reporting my order for being incorrect because she said they were busy as if I did not just place an order and pay and have been ordering from this store for over 3 years. I will definetly not be supporting this business anymore and I will for sure will be spreading the news to people who I recommended this place to, as well as informing the company I worked for who still support this business who places $250 plus orders, and the company I currently work for to not order from here anymore. Absolutely amazing Thai restaurant! Could not recommend visiting here enough. We ate inside (but there's open windows and we sat right by the entry way) and there's good COVID cautions. Also limited outdoor seating. The decor inside is so cute and creates a nice ambience. Tons of people were taking out food too- you could tell this restaurant is well loved by the neighborhood! I ordered my favorite, drunken noodles and they were just perfect. Would absolutely recommend. Also tried a new soup and it was really good. Too little sauce, which was too sour and nothing like a typical pad Thai sauce. Very pungent, fishy, sour, overwhelming taste. My friend could not eat it. Barely any chicken. The container was packed with noodles and no meat except for four tiny strips of chicken. Very sad. Drunkman noodles with beef $15 was much better. I have been coming here for more than 2 years. This is a consistent place for value Thai food. Takeout or delivery is also a good option. The drunken noodle is decent. Well seasoned with a little bit of kick too it. The red curry is sweet and mixed very well with Thai spices. Meanwhile, the dinning room is small but still has a decent ambiance. Ambiance-wise the place is nicely decorated, however it is tiny and cramped. I'd recommend for going with 2 people or small group max. Also, pet peeve, I brought small biscuits to share with my group after the dinner -- and the server chided the group for it. Really? My group of 10 just dropped $400 in 1 hour, AND almost everyone bought dessert, but we were scolded for taking out tiny biscuits afterwards? This place has been on my bookmark for almost a year now. Having had plenty of amazing Thai Food on the West Coast, my expectations were always high and I was repeatedly let down by various Thai places across Manhattan. I finally decided to come here for its lunch special. They run lunch specials ($7.95, $8.95, or $9.95 - price as of early 2016). I chose vegetables for Panang curry. I liked the flavors but everything else was sub-par. The main lady handling customers' orders couldn't have looked more bored on her job. Each time she came around to re-fill water and when customers (me included) responded with a sincere thank-you, she just walked way. To add to that, the portion was too small, but that may just be me with a large appetite all the time. Understandably, lunch special portion is always smaller. However, when you have abundant lunch specials on this island and where many are generous with the quantity, portion size is a huge factor to me. If the portion were to be bigger, I'd definitely give this place 4 stars. But I don't see myself coming to East Village just trying out this particular restaurant. read more
