It's to Thai for! My absolute FAVORITE lunch spot. I'm picky with my hainan chicken - but, howdy doodie does this place do it right! Best peanut sauce. Boyfriend loves the cashew chicken - without cashew - and yes, that's an order! Haha emoji. Always ask for their chillies tray. The pickled jalapeños are to die for! First time I order from this place, they delivered smoked duck, big pieces of meat...whether it was a duck curry dish or duck salad. After that first order it has all been horrible...pure duck skin, no meat if anything. Done with this place. read more

I have a slight addiction to Yellow Curry and this place is my absolute favorite in West LA for this dish. The Pad Thai and the Eggrolls are great too. I really like this place - the staff are friendly and the environment is always welcoming. This place is great for a dinner pickup but also if you're going out for a date night or a casual dinner - not too fancy but good for a nice dinner and good cocktails. I usually park out front but I believe they have a lot in the back as well, and there are typically a few tables available. Definitely a neighborhood gem! read more

I have been craving Thai basil fried rice so today I decided to try Thai Talay but they didn't have basil fried rice so I decided crab fried rice and asked for medium spicy. I just have 1 question, how do you make rice into quinoa and use it in a fried rice dish? It was so grainy that I ate two bites and was completely turned off from the texture of instant rice and there was zero spice. Just based on this experience I will not be trying anything else. For $18 I expected a totally different experience. read more

You really can't go wrong with the thai food here. I've tried their pad thai, fried calamari, spring rolls, yellow curry, red curry, combo fried rice-- it's all good. FYI the spicy pad thai is not spicy (although the color is more red than the actual pad thai). The pad thai here is also on the sweeter end! My personal favorite was the red curry! I'm actually not sure if the curries come with rice but I just cooked rice at home and had it with that. Pretty fire! There is street parking but I usually just get to go here. read more

I went to this restaurant during lunch to celebrate a coworker's recent engagement! This place has a bar and table seating available. The space is clear and modern. I got the Heavenly Garlic Shrimp Plate Lunch and shared a dumpling tray with my coroners. They got the PadThai, Panang curry, and some other beef dish that I can't remember. The flavors of the shrimp dish were good, but I wish there was more shrimp. The brown rice was on the drier side, so it wasn't pleasant to eat. I tried my other coworkers dishes and they were all tasty. The staff were very attentive and very friendly/nice. I appreciated their customer service very much! They even provided us a cake knife to cut the cake we brought for my coworker. I would recommend giving this place a try! (But maybe only get the white rice lol.) read more

First time here and it was just perfect! Decided to stop by after landing in LAX and glad we did. Prices are very fair, place is very clean and service is superb!!! They also ask you for your vaccine records I order to dine inside. Think they should place signage before entering, but we actually had our cards with us so it wasn't an issue. I highly recommend to anyone seeking for a quick and delicious meal. I had the pad Thai and it was so yummy! I will definitely return. read more

Thai Talay is one of those rare, quality places located in a somewhat rundown commercial business strip along busy, busy Lincoln Blvd., a heavily used route to the airport. The restaurant itself has a very nice facade, however. We were there Wednesday evening, between rush hours (the hostess said lunch is busy during the week), and almost had the place to ourselves (it has a bar, too). I had a rice-bed dish, with shrimps, crabs, shallots (I think) and a number of other ingredients which, combined, resulted in a really good meal. My partner had a noodle soup of some sort which she enjoyed. The service was outstanding, and our very gracious and attentive server was all smiles all the time. Convenient parking is in the rear (no parking usually on Lincoln). All around, an excellent experience in a really nice atmosphere. read more

Beware of food coloring. Please request your food without food coloring. My ginger shitake plate was all red. I think this dish would have been good if it looked natural like it should be. I hope the owner sees this and makes a change to the menu. read more

This place is delicious! Hot, fresh and full of flavor. The service..ehhh not amazing but okay. Don't be surprised if you flag down the waitress for another refill or anything else you need. So order everything you'll need in the beginning. Extra water etc It's not a huge restaurant but big enough to sit maybe 60 people or so It's delicious, you won't be disappointed! read more

We had a large group family dinner here and they were accommodating. All the tables shared duck curry, pad Thai, pineapple fried rice, and pad see u. Everything was delicious! Pad Thai had a good blend of lime and savory Pineapple fried rice had crab meat, chicken, and shrimp Pad see u had good flavor and noodles was just right The best dish was the duck curry. "Tooky" just lost their most loyal customers We have gone here for several years. I would say we have ordered from here 50 times. We regularly tip 25-30% per order. We will never come back again. They proceeded to lecture us and try to charge us even more money after they got our order wrong. They withheld the correct order until we gave them more money. This will be the very last time we order from Thai Talay. If there are better Thai restaurants nearby we ask that you leave them in your reviews so people know where to go next time. I suggest Thai Dishes. read more

Never ordered from here before but, through DoorDash, their delivery time was in line with what we wanted. We ordered the pad thai, yellow curry, calamari, green beans and the orange chicken. Over all it wasn't great. We're used to great Thai food and this just wasn't it. The orange chicken literally had 10 pieces. When you can count the pieces in your order of orange chicken, that's a problem. And it was ground chicken with a coating, not pieces. There's a reason all the pieces were shaped the same. The texture alone will put you off this dish forever unless you immediately order it from your very own tried-and-true place, and apologize to it for going elsewhere. Then promise never to do it again. The green beans were excellent. Crispy-tender and nicely garlicked, I could have had just that and been happy. The chicken curry was good too and you get a generous portion. I ordered that with the sticky rice. Careful when you spoon into it: it's covered in a barely there thin plastic that you'll end up eating if you're not paying attention. The pad thai was very good too (my hubs didn't agree--thought it tasted funny). It was nice and saucy and the taste was fine for me. The calamari was chewy--not very good. With so many excellent Thai places on the west side, this will never be a go-to. Sorry. read more

Update: thank you for following up and yes I'm aware it is not spicy. I am referring to spice in this case in the sense of it as "seasoning".pad see ew has a salty meets slight sweet taste... can't really describe but that's the description in my head of it . I've had and I'm aware of which other items are spicy for me. This is mainly a go to pick for me when I'm not familiar with a various city restaurant. Ive lived out the us and I do travel for a living so I'm very particular on what I get and Everyone has a " can't go wrong item but this is my "if this is good then everything is good item" , but thank you for responding and following up. read more

The food was AMAZINGLY delicious, generous portions but no combinations, so, unless you're willing to drop some serious coin on two or three different items, your experience will be limited. If you can go with two or three people, do it. You each get something different and share, you WILL NOT be disappointed. Very elegant and clean. The service was excellent. The food was pretty good and yes I eat TONS of Thai food. The main issue for me is having to deal being ignored by waitresses while they literally hang all over the old white men at the bar. They ignore the tables to kiss, hug, and hang all over these wealthy old white guys and the customer service suffers for it. It's not a very dignified look for the women that work here and implies a shady vibe to the rest of us. Again the food is pretty good just NOT a fan of the inappropriate behavior Managers response is pathetic. I didn't say they were happy to see people. No one would have an issue with that. They are acting lewd and sexually inappropriate in public. Stop making excuses and take ownership by coaching your staff. It's not rocket science bud. read more

Food is good but service sucks! We were a large party and the waitress instead of waiting for everyone to be seated and take order of everyone at same time she came around like three times and was bothered. She knew how many of us came in I mean she sat us down. Then when we asked for a straw she said I gave each of you a straw lol like ok and ??? Ours fell on ground that's why we asked but I give it two starts the Thai iced tea really diluted here but the food was good just no family serving size! read more

So fabulous!!! Oh my goodness!! My husband and I went tonight on a friends recommendation. The adorable staff is so welcoming. The specialty cocktails were fabulous. I had two of the gin mint basil. (Forgot the name) We went big and ordered the whole deep fried catfish. It is just as good as Wolfgang's at Chenois! But half the price point. Rude service. Waitress was rude since the time we arrived with a weird bossy attitude... then I asked her for two knifes and she yells "AFTER I FINISH HERE" (??) why yelling??... then I realized it was personal because she was being only nice with my dad... only asking "How's everything Sir??" "Would you like something else Sir??" ... hello?? Am I invisible?? She probably thought he was paying the check and wanted to get tipped.. It doesn't work like that, it's not my fault that you had a bad day. I have so many friends who are waiters as well and I ALWAYS tip... but for a bad service why would I pay extra?? No thank you, not coming back... the restaurant was almost empty so it is not convenient to keep losing customers. I'd recommend you guys go to Tuk Tuk Thai instead, way better food and service. read more

The dishes are kind of like a small plates setting. A bowl is just a small amount of food to accompany your base (rice or veggies). The bowls are said to rotate by the day which I take to mean as preprepared (hence express). The staff were polite and brought the food out swiftly. I ordered a fried rice base and a green curry chicken bowl. The fried rice was a bit too wet (like freshly cooked rice turned into fried rice) and lacking a strong soy sauce presence; however, it does mean that it pairs well with the curry without being overwhelming. The curry has a bright fresh flavor with a creamy coconut milk taste and was definitely the highlight of the meal. I also managed to sample their soft serve. The flavors were Thai tea and blue butterfly. They tasted pretty standard and the Thai tea and blue butterfly definitely shone through, but not much else. All in all, one of the better places to eat at in El Segundo and the small plates style is definitely an interesting concept.

It was chaos and confusing as the person onsite couldn't give me a timeline of when my food would be ready, but you're watching orders flying out the doors. In total I waited 45 minutes only to be reminded that I couldn't dine in, but wasn't told how long my order would be. Food was subpar, portion was small and bland. The fried rice was very dry and inedible, it taste like it's a couple of days old. The Tom Kha was decent, not the best I've had but it was good enough to enjoy. The Penang curry was very flavorful and had a good kick, this would be my favorite. Order ahead of time, there's nothing personable about this place.
