This place is good and we've eaten here for years. However, last week we ordered a mushroom dish medium, but it was Too spicy for me. I should have stuck with mild. My go to dish is the steak salad mild but i tried something new this time and it was too spicy for my taste. But it didn't clear up my sinuses. I started going to Ayara in 2011 and have been here regularly until Covid. I still go occasionally, but not as often. They must have a new chief. The pad Thai is sweet now. Thats how it takes like in a lot of other places and that's what I hate. The tofu added are puff now. Not the old fried ones. Bufferflyshrimp was my favorite. It's not as crispy now. I asked for brown rice and they gave me white rice. It was takeout and I have high blood Sugar, so I have to threw away most of the rice. I am hungry now. Also, they give us ice in a cup for Thai tea and no straw. The lady at the window rolled her eyes when I asked for the ice for Thai tea mentioning they always have it prepared. I don't live far and I've been here more than a few times. Not sure how I haven't put down my thoughts about my experiences here but late is better than never. Scroll through my pics. Like I said, been here more than a few times. I've never had a problem with parking. Had to the area and you'll understand. In addition to street parking, there's a huge parking lot that you can't miss. I've never seen it so full that there were no spaces available. It's not a large restaurant. Don't know the capacity but it's large enough to accommodate groups but small enough that service is great and feels personal. At least it does to me - maybe because its one of my go to Thai restaurants. Attentive. Friendly. Nice. All of the above. As for the dishes - I love how they follow through and prepare mine spicy, even Thai spicy. I know a few years ago, someone came out and asked to confirm I wanted Thai spicy. Even last night, I asked for "Hot" on the spice level. I won't say it's not hot, because it's not for me, but for those who don't eat fire ... The portions are good. Flavors are delicious and I keep going back for more every so often. I can't say I have a favorite dish as I order whatever I feel like at the time. And I haven't had a bad dish because looking through my photos, I know I'd order anyone of those dishes again. Anyway, I love this place. Loved the comforting Thai food here. We tried the Khao Soi (rich and comforting), green curry chicken (fragrant but can be a tad salty), tom yum veggie soup (nice tart taste) that acted as a palate cleanser to the green curry. I hadn't been back to Ayara Thai in a few years, and I had the chance to go with some friends for dinner before a show in the area. I'd only dined outside during the pandemic, and the inside was being renovated back then, too. Happy to see that the renovations are done, and we were seated promptly. I'd had Ayara Thai either dining outdoors or take-out, and while the food is still good, I found the ambiance inside added even more quality to the dishes. In other words, they tasted better when eaten in-house, more fresh and flavorful than I'd ever had. Really enjoyed the khao soi, which was flavorful and had just a hint of spice for an enjoyable experience. The chicken satay was so tender and beautifully-charred, probably one of the best satays I've had. Mango sticky rice in the end was delicious, with the smoothest, ripest mangos I've had in a long time-- they were so smooth, it was almost buttery! The egg rolls were just-okay, though, and I would probably skip these next time. Overall, probably one of the best Thai spots on the Westside. Wow Ayara Thai is delicious. We came on Sunday and the Farmer's Market outside was very nice. We walked around, there is another great restaurant right near here we are excited to try and a few others we hadn't heard of that got us excited to come back. Service was quick, helpful and friendly. Their outdoor patio was nice and the wooden tables felt homey. I had the Massaman Curry made vegan and the fried tofu, with a beer. I would pass on the fried tofu next time, but the curry was delicious. Tofu in the curry was much better. I can't wait to come back here to see if the other dishes will make me rate it 5 stars. I don't eat Thai food often but after this I want to eat it much more often. I think the intetior might help me rate this place 5 stars. Next time definitely trying red curry or the soups. Thai restaurant located in downtown El Segundo. I first want to start off by giving five stars to our waitress Patty. She was so funny and engaging. She is a one woman comedy show. She was so nice but also joked with our table the entire time. There were a lot of fun options to choose from. For appetizers, we got the jerky, salad, wings, and wonton soup. Take out food from here is solid but even better when it's dine in. We had the regular.. Papaya salad, Pad Thai, Pad Dee Yu, fried rice.. The dishes I enjoyed the most is the spicy basil with crispy pork. Yah, like lechon! Tasty! We also had Khao soi which is a curry broth soup over crispy egg noodle that wilders down. Pretty good. One of my top fav Thai restaurants in LA! And you know there are many but only a handful of good ones and this falls amongst my top 5 in LA! This time I tried their classic papaya salad, spicy basil, and green curry. A must if you love green curry! The papaya salad was fresh and crunchy! And Spicy Basil was solid! Hell yes.. I came here after dropping off my cousin at LAX and this did not disappoint AT ALL... It was decently priced and I can understand why so many people come here on their lunch breaks now. That review may have been true in 2008 but I've been going there since and getting the same thing and their game is on point! These are my favs: Chicken or Shrimp Panang Curry Combo Thai Fried Rice with fried egg Crab Fried Rice Thai Beef Jerky Drunken Noodles Veggie add the fish sauce it's delish Green Curry with Beef I've tried a bunch of things but these are my favs. Plus the mango sticky rice when in season it's delish! TLDR: Get to Ayara NOW!! We've been getting food delivered from Ayara for months. We had to kiss a bunch of frogs, but finally found the best Thai in the city! This past weekend was their 22 year anniversary celebration. Fried Chicken night, here we come!! Sadly, we were too late, and they'd run out. (Insert crying emoji, but we'll get earlier reservations next year) Instead, we (over) ordered our favorites so we'd have plenty of leftovers. We've never had an issue with the delivery, hot, tasty, plentiful. But this, THIS, was next level. Even hotter, more flavor, larger portions!! Perfectly cooked shrimp with Pad See Ew, fried tofu in the green curry, the fan fave when tigers cry Tri-tip, plus much more. We were blown away. Everyone was super friendly, it felt like we were in a friend's house with family. And for what was a very busy night, service was spot on, and really fast. Added bonus: for the celebration, there was a "Photo Booth" where we got a caricature drawn of us, and then, we got to spin a prize wheel. We won a small box of house made Mango Sticky Rice Macrons. My experience at Ayara was wonderful... even with two young children along for the ride! The papaya salad had wonderful flavor and a great kick. For my entree I had the pad see ew with chicken and ate the entire thing. I don't think I've ever done that with Thai food, but it was too delicious to leave anything behind! It was surprisingly crowded on a random Wednesday evening when my friends and I went; we waited about 20 minutes for our group of 4. We ordered dishes to share family-style. The Ayara toast was cute and came in elephant shapes. The pad see ew was well mixed and tasty, and the chicken khao soi packed some eat. We ordered the cashew nut wok dish with chicken and it does come with rice. To finish, we had a mango sorbet and a mango sticky rice - both had generous portions and I liked both. Been here many times over some years, I do feel like quality's gone down despite price increases. Food has been very salty and overly saucy. The flavor is good, but too sweet and salty. We got pad thai with chicken - the noodles were overcooked and just drenched in sauce. And barely any chicken pieces. Papaya salad came with shrimp (extra $6) and we only got 3 shrimps. Overly sauced again, there was a pool of dressing. We got basil beef stir fry, again, too much sauce, all pooling at the bottom and totally drenched. The first time I had Ayara Thai food was during lunch time, which a friend of mine taught me how to order via the website. I don't believe the restaurant is open to take orders during the day (don't quote me on this) but it is extremely convenient to be able to place the order online with a reliable pick up time. They text you when your order is ready. Bonus points for efficiency! Since we were with the group, the first time, we were able to eat outside on the patio area. Two days later, my husband and I shamelessly returned for takeout, and then returned again a couple of days later, lol. It's a tiny place in a random plaza, parking is fairly easy, they have both street parking and a lot if you walk a bit further down. We used to always order them lunch special, I personally loved their khao soi and crispy pork belly with Chinese broccoli. Their spicy beef salad, tom kha chicken soup and when tigers cry were also really good and highly recommended. Their pad Thai and pad see ew were good but they felt just standard for a Thai restaurant. The only downside it the food takes forever if you order ahead. Like I'm talking 40-60 mins for a to go order and when they give you that estimate, they're not lying. It really does take that long for the food. Definitely worth trying out if you're in the area, it's one of the best Thai places around. read more

It's a Thai style salad and with some sticky rice is so good. The Ayara Toast is tasty and super cute too with little elephant cut outs of toast with ground pork and shrimp fried! My review is for takeout. It came well prepped for the ride to avoid mess from spillage and taped to avoid being opened before I received it. I submitted pictures for that. I got pad Thai with 4 shrimp which at first I was disappointed by the clearly divulged amount but they are nice size for 4. The pad Thai had great flavor also noted some yummy garlic kick to it made it even better. Beautiful day in Westchester, right by LAX, and Ayara was the perfect stop. They do not offer full sit-down service before dinner, but the patio is open and lovely for lunch. I ordered the lunch special, which comes with a small dish, large dish, and a drink. I went with the Pad See Ew, a bit heavier on the oyster sauce, which I did not mind. The wings, the appetizer that came as my smaller dish was super crispy on the outside, but the meat was a little dry and would have had more of a punch in flavor. My partner ordered the Massaman curry with white rice and thoroughly enjoyed it. Rich, comforting, exactly what you want from a good curry. For my drink, I had the Thai iced tea. It appears to be made in-house, it comes pre-bottled with their logo and they give you a cup of ice to pour it over. It is on the sweeter side, but once the ice melts and it blends a bit, it balances out nicely. We also ordered the mango sticky rice to go while we sat on the patio, and it was absolutely delicious. The rice was perfectly cooked, the mangoes were ripe and sweet, and the coconut sauce had just the right balance of saltiness and sweetness. Super refreshing and a beautiful way to end the meal. Absolutely would return, especially if heading to or from the airport. We love Ayara! It's our favorite spot for post airport pick up dinner--plenty of parking in the large lot to the west, and extremely friendly staff. This time they made several recommendations for the special lobster which was incredible and the sauce had a deep and rich spice to it which we absolutely loved. I recently visited Ayara Thai for a special birthday celebration for my sister. It was my first time at Ayara Thai and it was an amazing experience. As a party of 10, we were seated in the private back room. It was lovely to have a room to ourselves. It felt very special. The menu was curated by our birthday host and Chef Vanda. The menu was printed on little cards for each guest. It was an absolute feast. While the entire meal was delicious, the "When Tigers Cry" Tomahawk steak and the Spicy Beef Salad were outstanding. What made the visit even more exceptional was the very attentive service from the entire staff including Chef Vanda. You can feel the love in the food and in the service. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that loves Thai food and 5-star hospitality.
