I came in to order takeout and was imposed on by a worker to help me order- I'm fairly certain that he tried to sell me food based on the profit margin as opposed to its quality. First was ground pork with white rice and tasted like something I could realistically cook in 10 minutes on my own. -it was $20, insane. He also convinced me to buy a small bowl of soup with shrimp for ~$22 dollars, literally a pint - it's soup, I expected enough for two at least. Prices are ~$5-$10 higher per competitors similar item with much smaller portion sizes than the other local places. They said they'd call when the food was ready and we came back to them cleaning up the restaurant- no notice the food was ready. It was cold. Honestly the main reason I'm taking the time to make the review is the fact they never called and the food was cold- but also because it felt like I was sold their highest profit margin items under the guise of "traditional food" must haves- I feel like I was had for $20 bucks. All that being said, I genuinely don't feel the food's quality warrants the price. If you like the Rangoons, Lai Thai's are just as good. If you like pad Thai or kao pad, Rak Thai at downtown market has the best I've had in Holland or GR. read more

Had a wonderful Thai meal here! The owners are incredibly friendly and lovely people. Some of the best Thai food I've had outside of Thailand. Had Som Tam for an appetizer, lovely light flavor, good crunch, and a great level of spice. The egg drop soup was incredible! Some of the best tasting egg drop soup I've ever had! Didn't know egg drop soup could be that good! The Pad Thai & Penang Curry were incredible and very flavorful. We also had the Pad Kra Pao which was very good although I was expecting ground pork instead of sliced and a bit more heat since that was more traditional, but nonetheless it was fantastic! Highly recommend to anyone looking for traditional Thai food that's not overly Americanized. read more

Ordered takeout online and got the mango sticky rice. The rice was a little more savory than what I'm slightly used, but still tasty. The mango was amazing it was sweet, juicy, and full of flavor. My partner and I ate lunch here today and enjoyed a delicious meal. I ordered the yellow curry. He had the Panang curry. Portions were generous without being ridiculously big. The broth was flavorful. I ordered medium spice. He got medium plus. The spice level was perfect. My nose was running a little, my lips were burning slightly, but I could still taste all that AMAZING flavor. We will be coming back even though this is a good 45 minute drive from our home. I called and picked up my food and I arrived early and it was ready! The server that helped me was very kind. The drunken noodle was okay but it didn't seem to have any sauce in it which was a shame. I didn't hate my food but I believe there are better places in Grand Rapids. read more

We have been looking forward to trying Thai Table as other reviews have been good. However we have been unable to because the restaurant has not been open during at least five attempts to order from them. Online ordering failed and phone calls have gone to message. Our attempts have been on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and most recently, last Thursday. Here's hoping they make a better attempt to notify potential customers when they will be closed, either on their website or facebook. Love the appetizers! We tried all vegetarian fare. The fresh spring rolls were fragrant and blend of flavors was perfect. The sauce was my favorite. We also had goyza which was delicate and full of flavor, edemame, which is a staple for me when eating out. We had the tofu appetizer. A bit plain, but the sauce livened it up. For my dinner I chose yellow curry with tofu. It had a descent spice level and a good portion. Ibwish i had asked what vegetables came with it, red and green peppers. Those don't agree with me so i focused on my tofu and broth. Thats on me. The servers were quick and pleasant. The location is busy on a Friday night but we were seated almost immediately. It's a small space with very bright lighting, so if you are looking for dark, romantic ambience for date night, this isn't the place for you. But maybe grab a drink elsewhere after. It was good but not amazing. The staff were amazing. The food was very good but imo Thai Orchid in Petoskey Michigan and My Thai Place in Sudbury Ontario is hands down better. Definitely worth stopping and trying though but definitely 3rd on my list of good authentic Thai places. Not sure if I'd visit again if it was out of my way. read more

I attended during their soft opening. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. The atmosphere felt bright and clean. The owner, Eak, was so friendly and very helpful with recommendations. Food came out fresh and hot (aside from the salad, of course). My favorite dish of all the ones we tried was the stir fried basil with pork. I've never had that before at a Thai restaurant and was very pleased. It had very good flavor. My husband got the crying tiger and enjoyed that as well, the sauce that came with the steak definitely had a bit of kick to it. read more

How do even describe this besides amazing? Honestly the Tom Kha was the best thing I've eaten this month. Savory, rich, and yet bright!

Most top chefs will tell you the secret to great cuisine starts with quality ingredients, and that's what this restaurant does. It's especially evident in the proteins that came with my order. The shrimp seemed like Gulf (of Mexico) sourced, and the chicken looked minimally processed, unlike the shriveled, disfigured kind you get from most Thai and other Asian restaurants. The inside of the restaurant had a nice atmosphere, but I ordered to go this time. There was a lot of mention of the Pineapple Curry in reviews, so I tried that with chicken, and it was great. I ordered spice level between mild and medium, which had just a little kick. On my second bite I added a piece of pineapple, and that perfectly complemented the dish to cool things down. Usually I order Pad Thai from Thai restaurants, but this time I tried the Thai Yaka Soba with shrimp, which was also very good. The noodles were coated in a tasty chili sauce, and the vegetables and basil leaves finished off the dish perfectly. I would've gone for the same spice level as the curry dish, but I ordered mild, because my wife was feeling a little under the weather and wasn't up for spicy, but mild was still very good. I also ordered chicken satay, which was good, but the star was the top-notch peanut sauce, some of the best I've ever had. I've tried just about every Thai restaurant in GR the past 15 years, and this one is hands down the best. I'll definitely go back, and I'm curious to try the other proteins to see if they are also different from other Thai places. read more

Wow, the best Pad Thai Shrimp I have ever had. It had a spicy, sweet flavor to the dish. Service was excellent. The owner came to our table and we had a nice chat. My wife got a vegan basil rice dish with tofu and it was really tasty. The atmosphere is perfect. We will definitely be back and I have recommended it to several people. I've been anxiously awaiting my first visit to Thai Table, and from the very first bite I was ecstatic, elated, and overjoyed. Every other Thai restaurant in the area has Americanized their Thai food, but Thai Table hasn't: theirs is the real deal. The nuances, complexities, and subtleties of the flavors of Thai cuisine are unmatched by any other world cuisine. Thai is my favorite cuisine without a close second - we seek out Thai cuisine whenever we travel.......always hoping for an authentic, not Americanized, experience. We ordered six different things from the menu, and Thai Table nailed every single one. I almost cried after the first bite - I was FINALLY taken back to authentic Thailand cuisine without going to Thailand or a much bigger American city. It's about time, Grand Rapids! Eak and MiMi are quintessential Thai hosts: Extremely friendly, welcoming, gracious, and absolutely delightful. This restaurant has been open only one month, and they're doing so many things right. Run, don't walk, to Thai Table if you want an EXCELLENT, authentic, Thai dining experience. My sister and I went for lunch a week or so ago. When we arrived it wasn't busy yet, but it very quickly picked up! Our waitress was AMAZING, was very patient with answering our questions and had great food suggestions. The food was SO GOOD!! I had the masaman curry, and my sister had the drunken noodles. We also had an appetizer that came with peanut sauce, all of it was SUPERB.
