I was disappointed that they did not make it spicy like I asked though. Without any spice, it was pretty sweet and salty. And unfortunately the dish was mostly noodles and not many veggies. Also, I ordered the chicken rolls and they were delicious! Fried goodness. Overall, I liked my food. I didn't love it. I would try Thai Fusion again. read more

Yeah, it's rare when I have an experience that's so bad that I can't eat the food, combined with really bad service, and a less than inviting atmosphere. This place checked all those boxes. Thai tea, really weak and too much condensed milk. Green curry was more liquid than water (lol), it was not identifiable as curry at all; not by look, smell or taste. It was literally just spicy water poured over pork and bell peppers. No mushroom, no onion. If not the worst curry, in the top 3 worst. Husband ordered the all to familiar phat thai. He only ate a third and said he should have stopped after 3 bites. It looked like a plate of cooked noodles in something yellowish. Didn't look good or smell good. Bummer. We should have known because we were literally the only ones in the place. Service was horrible. Took 10 minutes to get water. Did I mention we were the only ones dining? He never checked on us. We finally had to wave him, but even then he just yelled across the empty restaurant and asked us what's up. We told him the food was terrible. He asked after the tea (also bad). To his credit, he only charged us for the tea (we only drank one it was so wrong). So. I hate doing this, and perhaps your experience will be better than ours was, but I recommend NOT going to this establishment until they get their food act together. read more

I walked in, waitress behind register, told her I'd like to dine in. she hands me menu so I order and pay including 20% gratuity, asked if I can sit anywhere she said yes. I find table and get ignored, I flag her down ask for a water and she brings it in a to go cup, I said I'm dining in she runs to the back, presumably to take my meal out of the box and bring it. Why would I tip 20% and sit in the middle of the dining room if I ordered to go?I ordered the pad Thai with tofu. It came with nothing fresh, no sprouts, drenched in a sweet sauce, soggy and the tofu was as if it had been cooked yesterday or the day before. Worst I've ever had. read more

Should've read and trusted the reviews that things can be a bit spicy! I got mild yellow curry fried rice with chicken which was a bit warm, but not inedible. I got medium beef pad Thai and this was definitely warmer, also not inedible, but hot. The flavor of the pad Thai was really lacking for me. I love a darker color and saucier pad thai and this missed the mark. The beef had a weird texture that I just couldn't get over either. The curry fried rice was delicious and I would definitely order this again. The chicken rolls were also delicious, but they were a million degrees when they came out so be warned! They do come with 2 to an order, but as always, I couldn't wait to dive in. The best Thai food I've had in the Grand Rapids area! When we went in, there was hardly anyone else in there and I can't understand why! We ordered crab wantons, veggie rolls, pak with chicken, and pad se-ew with beef. Each dish was authentic and flavorful. The portions were huge and very well priced. I ordered Take-Away on a Saturday night. I ordered beef Pad Se-ew, which was new to me. WOWZERS, what a treat! Scrumptious! The meat was so tender it almost melted in your mouth. The wide noodles were perfectly cooked in a most delicious, sweet, spicy brown sauce. I ordered mild. The spice level was to my liking--just a bit of a burn, not too much, just enough to tingle the taste buds :-). There is ample parking out front. Service is with a smile upon pick up. First time trying after being recommended by a friend. An excellent experience. Sat us right away and had attentive service throughout the night. After the appetizer platter, which was excellent I thoroughly enjoyed the Pad Thai with shrimp which I use as my comparison dish to benchmark. Very well prepared and lots of shrimp! Wife tried the Singapore noodle which was loaded with large cuts of veges and flavorful chicken. I would highly recommend and am already planning a return for lunch soon. read more

Presently Thai Fusion is only doing take out. Food was ready at the expected time for pick up. While the photos of the pad Thai on Yelp looked promising (some other places have carrots!! In their pad Thai photos) , the pad Thai was sadly lacking in flavor and missed the usual sweet component to it. Hubby had basil chicken said was pretty good. I had beef and broccoli which tasted funny and Thai tea which was too sweet. Server brought a new Thai tea which was still too sweet. 3/5 happy so gave it 3 stars. Love Thai but wish they had mild "heat" to add more flavor without burning mouth. Food is okay. My husband found his noodles too salty. My kids didn't like the fried rice they ordered as it was too salty for them as well. The food itself was a bit too salty for our liking but it may be cooked that way to cater the area's taste. It looks to be family owned as we saw children coming in and out of the kitchen. Came here again after some shopping, and there were probably 3 tables being waited and we were the fourth. We arrived around 5:10 and our waitress took our order 10 min later. Our food was brought 20 minutes later. It was good, portions were small and I had to stand up to get a refill. Not sure why if food is good, they don't have enough waiters. We did not understand the level of spice when we came here. We ordered how we would at many similar restaurants and this was so much spicier. That is somewhat encouraging because too often my wife can't get food spicy enough. We had a tom yum soup which was really good. It has an acidic broth and an ok amount of vegetables. It was so spicy it took about twenty minutes to eat between the two of us. Still my wife wanted to get some to go. We ate our soup while we waited for a takeout order. Unfortunately the dish my wife got was so spicy I was afraid she wasn't eating enough. She had to bust out some cheese and bread later in the evening. I got a beef and noodle dish at a lower spice level and it was at about my thresh hold. We were looking for a lunch spot with plenty vegetable options for the plant based among us and settled on Thai known for generous varieties of both. The service was friendly and the tea was tasty. The soup that came with the meal was salty. I ordered the Pad See Yew my usual go-to since it's more savory than the more well known Pad Thai. The noodles looked like Italian style pasta more then the the thick wide noodles I am used to. The sauce was in excess and much too sweet. I couldn't finish it. Another theme was unexpected spice levels. The "mild" for several of us (including my spice-loving wife) was spicier than expected. One of us had a "medium" that seemed mild. The consensus on each meal was "okay" except for me with the too-sweet pad see yew. Don't get that and you should be fine. read more

I ordered a tofu Pad Thai which to me, is a signature Thai dish which further lead me to believe it would be a great choice since this was my 1st time in the establishment. BOY was I wrong!! The Pad Thai didn't have bean sprouts OR peanuts on top for presentation/dressing. I thought that was a given for Pad Thai, someone please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. I also ordered fresh spring rolls and they came with a sweet chili sauce rather than a peanut sauce. Not sure if peanut sauce is a given for fresh spring rolls but that's always been my experience at Thai restaurants. I personally have never been to Thailand BUT I lived on the west coast for 12 years and I have frequented many Thai restaurants. I'm pretty picky about my Thai food. The green curry was good, but the peas may have been frozen? I'm not sure, just a very weird texture. Sauce and chicken were good. This place was packed- so that is always good to see when checking out a new restaurant. The highlight of the show was the chicken satay appetizer that we shared. Great food, great service. We were the only ones in there around 2pm. Be wary of the "fire" spice level. Fried rice was very yummy.

This used to be the best Thai restaurant in GR. Something changed over the last year because prices have gone up significantly while quality has gone down. One of the dishes we ordered cost $20 and the container was half full. $15 for most dinners and you get very little protein. It feels like a giant rip off. Thai fusion is solid but not amazing. Be aware that dishes here are heavily spiced- a medium is blazing hot. I get that is the Thai way, but it's something to be aware of when you order. We started with the crab won tons- an inauthentic guilty pleasure I know. Unfortunately although they were very crispy, they contained very little crab filling. My wife and I both had the peanut curry noodles. The flavor of the peanut sauce and curry is delicious, but the sauce is very thin and splashed everywhere. It doesn't stick to the noodles all that well, so a lot of the bites end up being bland. The tofu was also fried and quite dried out. The place is clean and the service was good. I would go again and try some more dishes, but I wasn't super impressed. read more

I had pad see ew with thick noodles, tasty sauce, tofu and broccoli. I was worried it would be too sweet, but it was perfect. My partner had peanut curry with wide noodles and tofu. We both had mild spice which gave the dishes a little heat which was just right. I've been here three or four times and really appreciate the friendly and attentive service. First, the good: Attentive, friendly service, even though the place was fairly busy. Fulfilled a special request to modify an entree. The bad: The sauce for the chicken and vegetables dish was way too sweet. No one seemed to know what prik nam pla was--a Thai condiment as common as ketchup here.
