I've been thinking about trying take out again since I first tried Chee Peng about 8 months ago. Both experiences were very similar. Placed order with ease over the phone and wait times were not extensive. Each time other customers were happily picking up their orders as well. Same woman waited on me each time, she has a sunny and warm demeanor about her. Tonight was my 2nd visit after hearing the people of Greenville tell how great this place is. My take out order tonight included... *Sesame chicken: Chewy, not big flavor. *Broccoli w/ Brown sauce (can be ordered with your choice of meat): brown sauce tasty, sauce a bit runny, broccoli nice and tender, but not mushy. *Fried rice side: rice is good, but also not very big flavor. *Egg Rolls & Crab Rangoons as expected to be. I definitely want to add that the take out containers were heaped full and almost overflowing. Prices were certainly reasonable. This place needs a lot of love. The exterior and the interior of this place are very run down and clutter is everywhere inside. If it weren't for so many people from Greenville claiming this is the best Chinese food nearby, I'd be afraid to eat here just based upon the disorder. Often many of us associate tidiness and cleanliness together, and my initial thought the couple times I've walked into this establishment is "gosh I wonder if these areas have been kept clean." I get a nervous feeling. And since the food hasn't really blown me away I don't see this as being a regular place I'd elect to visit. One thing I know to be certain is this place is a family business, and I believe the people of Belding hold a very special place in their heart for Chee Peng. I hope one day it can gain new potential.

Chee Peng makes the best egg foo young I've ever had hands down. I recommend it with shrimp and a side of pot stickers.

Great egg drop soup, Coke in cans is a bonus. Little mom/pop restaurant, I believe in supporting local, they do not disappoint.

The ambiance is pretty typical of any Thai restaurant. Tastefully decorated, not cluttered or tacky at all. The menu was a bit lengthy, but it was nicely laid out and easy to read. The prices are pretty comparable with other Thai restaurants. Our waiter, I believe, was also the owner of the restaurant, a very pleasant gentleman. He was knowledgable about the menu and offered a spice range of 1 (no spice) to 10 (extremely spicy), and anywhere in between. My son ordered the Drunk Mama dish, my husband ordered the Mongolian dish, and after asking if there was soy in it (and mentioning I had a soy allergy), I ordered the Vegetable dish. The waiter assured me they could make it without soy. It was literally only a few minutes when the dishes started coming to the table, piping hot. I had only taken about 2 bites when the waiter came over to the table, took one look at my dish and said, "Oh, let me remake that for you. I can tell this has soy in it." He whisked it away immediately. A few minutes later, I was given a newly prepared dish, without soy, and was told there would be no charge for dinner. I also received many apologies for the mixup. This is one place that genuinely cares about their customers. My vegetable dish was full of tasty, very fresh vegetables, cooked to perfection. All 3 of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The spice levels were perfect, the presentation was nice, and the taste was outstanding. We love Thai food and have tried a lot of them, but this one is now at the top of our list. We live on the south end of Grand Rapids, but we will definitely be back! I'm looking forward to trying many of the other dishes listed on the menu. I highly recommend you try Jasmine Thai too.

End of May will be your last opportunity for an unknown time. We splurged since it might the last time. We stared with the appetizer sampler and it was all delicious. All of it was fresh and delicious. Crispy crab rangoons, moist chicken satay, fresh spring rolls, egg rolls with chicken and some meat rangoon. All complemented with three different sauces with one being a sweet peanut butter sauce. Yum! The Red Pad Thai is amazing as usual. The fresh topping with the flavors from the noodles and sauce go so well together. The peanut curry with chicken were flavored with just the right amount of peanut flavor and spice! I substituted the white rice with their fried rice for an additional $3, but it was sooo worth it! Normally it was only an additional $2 but eggs, enough said. The service was pleasant as usual and never did we need anything. The place hasn't changed much over the last 10 years but you don't have to when your food speaks for itself. The place was good for one to a large group and is always clean Go give it a try before they are possibly gone forever.

So...Order was taken and the wait was long..I was fine with that because... good food takes time!! First came the rangoons and they were exceptional!! And if the story ended there it would be 5 stars! But the story does infact Not end there. First two entrées were served and 25 minutes there were 3 more and 40 minutes after that the 6th entrée was served. 3 out of the 6 were messed up 2 were great and 1 was absolutely not good. Our drinks were never refilled and for all this I got the pleasure of paying 267 bucks.. its truly not about the money. As I still gave 25 percent. Its about lack of value. I felt that the local walk in Chinese takeout was the same if not better for 75 percent less.. when 5 out of 6 people leave there not happy it definitely doesn't build good memories. Thank said I wouldn't go back.

Food-wise, our apps were crab Rangoon and steamed chicken dumplings. Both were delicious. The crab rangoons were sufficiently filled with the cream cheese mixture and were crispy. The chicken dumplings were stuffed with ground chicken and mushrooms and were well cooked. For our main, we got the pad Thai curry noodle and the drunken noodles. Our friends enjoyed the drunken noodles while the pad Thai, even though we specified mild twice, was spicy enough. We then ordered a side of white rice to make it palatable. We also ordered dessert because of the spiciness of the main, and got the mango sticky rice and the fried bananas with ice cream. Both were good but I'd probably order something other than the mango sticky rice next time. One star off due to the service. Our waitress was very short with us. When we emphasized wanting the food to be mild, her response was a stern "I got it. That's how we'll make it." even though that wasn't the case, when we said we'll order the mains after we were meet with a huff and asked to hurry up and order the mains along with the apps because the kitchen was very busy that night, after noticing the pad Thai curry noodle was spicy, we thought of ordering a fried rice to manage the spice and her response was frowning to say that it would just take too long now and so we settled on white rice, and after that point we could barely hail her down even though she walked back and forth multiple times. It was like she was annoyed we were dining there! Overall, great ambiance and good food.
