This place did not allow me to order over the phone. I was redirected to their website, which would be fine except when I ordered it told me my food would not be ready for an hour. Okay.... so I finally pick up my food and there are no utensils, napkins, or condiments and I have to rip the bag open to get my food because it's triple knotted. In terms of spice levels, he said "most things are on a scale of 1 to 5, where 1 isn't spicy, 3 is regular spicy, and 5 is gastrointestinal issues spicy." Party of three went to Thai Table last night. Once we heard the specials, we all decided to order the same thing. Lol. The Chonburi Curry Seafood platter was just delicious. We also had a cucumber salad that was so fresh and tangy. The service by Lana and Stella was great. They were super friendly and efficient. I would call this casual dining. It has a garden motif that makes you feel like you're eating outside except with air-conditioning.. Thai Table is a little oasis on Wealthy St. The decor is fresh and fun, with a giant wall of tropical (faux) greenery, Thai accents and green/blue hues, and caring details like the colorful bins they will bring to your table so you don't have to place your purse/bag on the floor. Every dish we've had there has been exceptional, full of vibrant, authentic Thai flavors. Many of the dishes are, or can be made, Vegan. (The dishes with a "V" next to the name does NOT necessarily mean they are Vegan--some contain Egg--but can be made Vegan if you specify it.) They will also ask you for your desired level of heat. We enjoy very spicy food, but we find that medium is adequate so the delicate flavors are not obliterated by heat. There is also a tray of Thai spices to add more heat if desired. Some standout dishes for us: The Tom Yum Fried Rice (delightfully aromatic), Pineapple Curry (great fusion of savory and sweet), Larb Tofu (complex, fragrant mix of flavors). But every dish we've tried has been delicious. If we had questions about any of the dishes, the staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. And even though the place can get busy (especially with the many takeout orders that were picked up during the time we were there), we never felt rushed and were able to engage in delightful conversation with the staff and owners. How fortunate we are that the owners Mimi and Eak specifically immigrated from Thailand to Grand Rapids to open Thai Table! Highly recommend trying Thai Table! I've been hearing so many good things and decided to stop by since I was in town. The owner and staff are such genuine and friendly people and the food is delicious! I ordered the pad thai and it was the perfect spice level and flavorful. The portions are pretty big and they have a ton of different options for everyone (not vegan but appreciated how a lot of their menu is vegan)! I honestly wasn't sure what to expect because there weren't many people dining in but it was even better than expected. Our server was super friendly and knowledgeable - when we ordered hot tea, she told us all about how they order everything in from Thailand and showed us the packaging from the back. I ordered shrimp pad thai, hot tea and wonton soup; not sure what my friend got but it looked good too!) The portions are big (they would probably benefit from having a lunch portion for a little less price). I had plenty to take home for leftovers. The wonton soup was really good - I liked the amount of wontons and it was super flavorful. The shrimp pad Thai had a unique flavor and had a nice amount of sauce. Wow... the only place I plan on going to in GR for Thai food. We have lived here 2 years and have not found a Thai restaurant we like until Thai Table. Service was quick and friendly. It seemed pretty empty when we arrived but it picked up quickly. It was clear they do A LOT of take out orders. The taste of Thailand platter included crab Rangoon (NEVER had so much flavor in a Rangoon before), chicken satay (my fave Thai dish), spring rolls, gyoza. A really good way to try out multiple items. The cucumber salad was incredibly refreshing. My husband and I were fighting for the last piece. The massaman curry had potatoes, onions, carrots, peanuts. I added chicken. It came with a side of rice. It was delicious. If you are a huge fan of peanut sauce, you will love this. The pineapple fried rice was one of the most flavorful dishes of the evening. We added a spice level 3 (from 1 to 5) and it definitely had a kick but did not overpower the flavor of the dish at all. read more

Craving Thai food upon arriving in Grand Rapids after a long road trip from Washington, D.C., Yelp led us to no-thrills Thai Table along Wealthy Street. We got a table right away on a Sunday evening around 6:30pm, but the wait to get our order and receive our food was slow. (It's a tough time in the restaurant industry so no judgement there.) The space is minimal, which we enjoyed. Service was slow, but friendly. The menu is large. My wife LOVED the pineapple curry and our seven-year-old daughter enjoyed the Thai Table fried rice. My order of Spicy Basil Fried Rice with chicken was disappointing to me. It was super flavorful. One other thing to call out is that the rice that comes with the curry is not jasmine rice. It's more like basic Betty Crocker white rice. Even though I left disappointed, my family loved their dishes so I still would recommend this place. read more

Our first time here. We're visiting from out of state and we love the authenticity of this restaurant. Everything is so delicious. Coming from a recent trip in Bangkok this surely gave reminded us of all the lovely food in Thailand. We're so glad we found it in Grand Rapids of all places. Yum! Finally got the chance to try Thai Table tonight after seeing all the rave reviews online. We got the following - Pad Thai Larb Calamari Papaya Salad Red Curry Garlic stir fry Favorites were the red curry and garlic stir fry. We ordered everything medium hot and wish we would have gone hotter. Next time we'll make the adjustment and I'm absolutely sure papaya salad will make the favorites list (user error, oops!). Portion sizes for takeout were much bigger than anticipated; thank you for that! Only wish is that they would have given us more rice. My husband and I were fortunate to snag a spot to Thai Table during their soft opening after I saw a post about it on Facebook. I loved getting a semi-private experience of the new space, and the food was wonderful! We love dumplings, so we tried the Dumplings Larb Kai to start. We tend to be picky about dipping sauces, but this one was really good! The dumplings were cooked perfectly too - not too soggy, not too stiff. For main courses my husband ordered the Spicy Thai Steak, and I had the pineapple curry. He really liked the steak (I was lucky to get one bite!), and I absolutely loved the pineapple curry! I love a good red curry, but haven't ever tried it with pineapple. Theirs was done very well! It was nice having the rice on the side as well. It was good and spicy - which I asked for. In addition to the food, the space is lovely. The color on the walls is bright and cheery, and I love the greenery everywhere. It's a really friendly feeling space. And the owner is so very sweet! He came over to chat with us for awhile, told us a bit of his backstory, and explained some of the menu and food. Really wonderful human! I'm so glad Thai Table has joined the Grand Rapids restaurant scene. They are going to be our go-to Thai spot! read more

Sweet Chili Fried Rice (5/5): Got this with level 3 spice and it was delicious. The fried rice was nice and oily--just the way I like it--and the chili sauce added some nice sweetness as well. They were out of beef when I came in, but the chicken was pretty good. Massaman Curry (4/5): Only had a bite of this, but I liked how sweet and creamy it was. Needed some spiciness though because it had none at all (this didn't have the 1-5 option for spice level). Crab Rangoon (2/5): The shell was much too thin and the filling was too cheesy with almost no crab flavor. We visited after seeing the glowing reviews and the 4.6-star rating, so we were excited to try it out. Unfortunately, our experience didn't quite live up to the expectations. We were greeted upon arrival, but the service felt a bit off -- perhaps our server was having a rough day. As someone who's worked in the service industry, I understand how tough it can be, so I always try to be patient and understanding. We spent about $78 after tip, and while I don't mind paying for good food and service, we left feeling underwhelmed overall. The karb lai didn't quite match the menu photo and lacked the amount of filling I expected. Crab rangoons were okay, but nothing stood out. The yellow curry was decent -- flavorful -- but I'd recommend ordering extra rice since the portion provided wasn't quite enough. *edited* The most disappointing part for us was the noodle dishes. I *thought* I ordered pad Thai and drunken noodles but somehow ordered the same dish twice on the website. I should've took screen shots but I could've sworn both had different prompts in different places as well so I didn't carefully review it thinking it was different dish. One had mushrooms in it and the other didn't so again lead me to believe they were different...Would explain why both tasted quite similar and used the same type of noodle. both dishes had overcooked, rubbery egg. I also paid extra for steak in one of the drunken noodles, but it ended up dry and chewy. And as someone else has mentioned the noodles were very dry and overall not much flavor profile. While I can see why others may have had a better experience, this visit just didn't work for us personally. We likely won't be returning, but I do hope our feedback helps improve the experience for future diners. read more

Thai Table is a new spot that is officially opening today, September 12, 2024 at 11 am! I had the opportunity to try some menu items during their soft opening phase. The space is very cute and cozy, and a nice place for a dine-in meal. We were welcomed right away and the owners are so sweet and kind. They talked with us about their food and gave good recommendations. Nate and I ordered the Thai table wings, khai jiao (Thai style omelet), stir fried basil with pork, and pad see yew with chicken. The wings came out first and were super crispy and delicious! Then we tried the khai jiao. I've never had this dish but really liked it. It's a simple but well made omelet that you can get with shrimp or just eggs. We did just egg. It was fluffy and hot! I really loved the hot sauce that came with it - it was pretty spicy (I'd say medium+) but also had great flavor. I kept going back for more. Our entrees were beautifully plated and I loved them both. The stir fried basil was super flavorful and savory. We asked for a level 2 spice (out of 5) but we'd definitely go higher next time. The pork was tender and the egg was perfectly over medium. I love pad see yew, and theirs was so good. Lots of chicken and veggies and soft chewy noodles. We'll be back to try more! They've been open for a week and still trying to figure things out and keep up. We were patient and the service was friendly. FYI: There was a sign saying they didn't accept takeout orders during busy times. A number of people ordered and would come back later. Yum: Massaman Curry - perfect hint of sweetness with coconut curry flavor. Yum: Shumai - Love the sweetness of the dipping sauce. Mixed Veggie: Ordered this with tofu. Came with a brown sauce and tasted like a veggie dish I would expect from a Chinese restaurant - cabbage, broccoli, baby corn, peas and carrots. I ended up using my husband's curry sauce from his dish and it was delicious. Next time, I'll try a curry and ask for veggies to be added. Spice level: My husband ordered a 4 out of 5 and it was barely a hint of spice. It may be a fluke. They offered to add more and we declined so I could enjoy it too. 4.5 stars for their take out, have not tried dining in yet: We tried their pad Thai and Panang curry. We ordered mild/low level of spice (not no spice) and I'm surprised to read the other reviews here saying things were not spicy enough because the Pad Thai had quite the kick, borderline not enjoyable due to amount of heat and we are not strangers to spice. Overall though the flavors noodles and vegetables in the pad Thai were excellent. Best Pad Thai I've found in GR. Their Panang curry was flavorful and even my husband who normally isn't a fan of curry really enjoyed this. The one downside: With no lunch specials, be prepared to pay nearly ~$20 per dish for your take out. This is more than other Thai places in town and I would say the portions are smaller - so it may not be your frequent lunch spot/you may want to save it for eating out and getting the full service experience - but overall since it's the best Thai I've found in GR we will still be returning! read more

Exciting to have another Thai restaurant here to replace Erb Thai. I wish they put more effort into the aesthetic of the place. The tables, chairs and ambiance all just kinda looks cheap. I got the pad Thai and thought it was decent. Be careful with adding spice. The Thai tea however stole the show. It was incredible. I wish they had tapioca pearls. Everyone was nice, actually really nice. I got the pad se ew. It says in the menu that this is made with broccoli. This was not made with broccoli. I am very sensitive to foods in the cruciferous family. Broccoli is okay. Bok choi is okay. Kale is okay. Chard is okay. Man, mustard greens mess me up in a huge way and gai lan messes me up bigly. Thai Table may not win awards for ambience--the space is small and everyone's cozied up together--but once the food arrives, you forget all about that. Everything tastes so fresh and authentic it feels like a little trip to Thailand. The pad see ew is absolutely delicious, with spice levels to suit any mood, and the fried rice dishes--pineapple and chili--are both superb. Google might claim they serve beer and wine (they don't), hope they work on this. The food is the star here, and it's wonderful enough to keep you coming back. read more

If you purchased Seize the Deal vouchers for this place, plan on dining in (or not going at all) because after several times of using the vouchers successfully for take out, suddenly they're no longer accepting them for take out and it's for dine in only. No disclaimer on the voucher about this at all. Asked to speak with the owner, he was washing dishes then he ran out for ingredients. So then I asked if I could dine in instead, the server said she wouldn't be able to use the voucher since she doesn't have the code to put it in the system. But, according to her, I wouldn't technically be dining in if I ordered food. I reassured her that I would eat it in the restaurant so it would be considered dine in. Then she told me the owners are basically giving food away for free when they sign up to promote their business on Seize the Deal. Consumers buy the vouchers and now they're not accepting them. It's very misleading. I will be calling Seize the Deal to figure this out but I will surely not be supporting this business anymore. It's unfortunate because the food was great and I've always had great customer service at the counter when I ordered several times before this. read more

My family has lived in thailand for over 15 years and just this last year we came back to Grandrapids and from all the Thai food restaurants that I have been to this has been the most authentic and as close as you can get to to real thai street food. They litertuly have Thai chefs from Thailand cooking the food! this place brought back memories from when I was there as a child and the service there was simply amazing. It makes ordering so easy! with so many delicious options, it was hard to decide. we ordered the pad see yew, the drunken noodles, and the tom kha. it was hard to tell our noodle dishes apart but it was the spice level that gave it away. the tofu was fried and had a buttery oil flavor and it was cut into the perfect bite size pieces. the tom kha was sweet, creamy, and flavorful. i also loved that the tom kha was served with rice. thai table is such a lovely wealthy street addition. read more

We got takeout during their soft opening so we can speak to the dibe-in experience but the inside of the restaurant is so beautiful and welcoming. We got the taste of Thailand appetizer with pork satay subbed for the spring rolls, pineapple fried rice with chicken, and pad see ew with shrimp. I love Thai food so this is the 3rd or 4th spot I've tried in Grand Rapids and it was by far the best, and offers, by FAR the most vegan options. I called to place a take out order over the phone, and I was told that they were too busy and was asked to order online - which was a little off putting - but then when I arrived a large group of about 15 was leaving, so it was understandable. I ordered the Pad Thai with tofu and when I arrived to pick it up the staff were extremely attentive and friendly. The serving size was a bit small (especially for the price), but it was some pretty phenomenal food. It was hot, had just the right amount of spice, and was the perfect blend of sweet, tangy, and salty. Tofu was perfectly fried and it came with a lime (not a lemon) - always a good sign.
