This is a hidden gem in Rockford! We've ignored this place for a while, assuming it wouldn't be good. Well, lesson learned, don't make assumptions! My wife and I were craving some curry before the Thanksgiving holiday and our friend heartily recommended Fusion Dish. So we gave it a try. We were not disappointed! We ordered the masaman beef curry and the green beef curry. Both were delightfully spicy (me ordered medium spice level) and the serving size was larger than we expected, so we had leftovers for 2 more meals. The Masaman was our favorite and we'll be ordering again soon. Do yourself a favor and don't judge by appearances, this place is great! read more

The food was okay but I was shocked when he totaled the bill. The menu prices on their website were incorrect on the price of every item I ordered. Example: General Chicken was supposed to be $11.50 but turns out it is now $13.95! (and no eggroll even) They need to update the menu on their website! I feel gouged! Very tasty! I only wish there was more spice and flavor in the curry. But everything else we ordered was very good.

Enjoyable evening out in Rockford at this out-of-the-way Asian restaurant. The crab rangoon was fresh, but not very crabbish; the sesame chicken was superb; and the yellow curry dish with pork had flavorful veggies, but the pork was disappointing. Ordered Thai food off Fusion Dish's extensive "Asian" menu and the food was delicious (especially the Green Curry)! Exposed some of our family members to something new that they had never tasted before and they loved it. Will be back for more! Had a little issue with Grubhub delivery but Melinda at the restaurant was so very gracious and went above and beyond what she had to do to get the order delivered (and delivered on time, too). I am surprised with the rave reviews. This is take out or mall quality cuisine. Our family ordered the Thai fried rice, beef bulgogi, beef pho, beef red curry and tofu pad see eww. Although all tasted fine (by no means bad), the food was surprising over sauced for traditional Asian food. See bulgogi pics attached. That's not traditional bulgogi. Pho, pad see eww and fried rice tasted good. Red curry and bulgogi was light on beef, mostly filled with onions and sauce. See pic attached. All of this worsened by the extreme heat in the dining room. Even after asking to decrease the heat, we all still sweat through dinner. I love this little restaurant- others say the good is bland or overly sweet, but I've never had that experience. I've basically tried the peanut noodles, pad Thai (my favorite), lo mein, drunken noodle, green curry, crab rangoons and egg roll. Loved them all! The food is good but every time we try to order, they say they can't take more more orders even if it is an hour before closing time. The four of us were very happy with our choices: General Chicken, Thai Fried Rice, Lo Mein Noodles and Yellow Curry Chicken. The heat scale was different than we've seen before. Realized we should have ordered a 3 instead of a 6. They gladly took back the dish and prepared one at a level 3. The atmosphere was very pleasant and peaceful. Would not recommend for eat-in. Sub par service. Food quality mediocre at best, think mall food court. Multiple entrees with sauce much too thick for our liking. Drunken noodles were more reminiscent of a stroganoff gravy than traditional Thai sauce. Egg drop soup was decent with fresh ingredients. Curries were OK, meat did not seem fresh. Our four entries came out at staggering times, with first and last dish 30 minutes apart. Service was apathetic and disinterested, seemed as if our business in this empty restaurant was not wanted. This place went un-noticed by us for almost a year before we decided to stop in. The hot and sour soup is wonderful! Perfect on a cold day! It has a nice zip and heat level that warms you through. I have tried several of the curry dishes and they are fantastic! I have not been disappointed with any of the dishes I have tried. The masaman curry is my favorite dish. read more

The food here is prepared nicely, no overcooked vegetables or thick breading. As a vegetarian, I love that I can order most dishes with tofu. I'm only giving 3 stars though because both times I've eaten here the sauces were overly sweet, even the cream cheese in the crab rangoon was sweet. read more

The menu and quality is amazing. Fusion Dish is NOT connected AT ALL with the nasty Ocean City restaurant that used to be in that spot! F.D. used to be located in Cascade and closed a while ago due to a tough location. Their food was awesome there, and they have now brought their deliciousness to Rockford- luckies! You can request any spice level you want for your dishes. They use a 1-10 rating system (10 being hottest). I like serious spice, and have not ventured past 7. Seriously- stop what you are doing right now and go here. You will not be disappointed. read more

For this small burg, I would say it works. Fusion Dish is a deceptive name for this place, because the cuisines don't so much intersect as they are Americanized versions of Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese, & Korean dishes. I tried the tofu island, which consisted of tofu triangles with hardened exteriors from frying and a splash of red curry sauce, rice threads, and julienned carrots on top. It was OK. My husband had shrimp massaman, which was excessively sweet but nicely flavored. The "steamed" rice was dry and did not have the stickiness you'd expect. It was fork/spoon rice, not chopsticks rice. We won't go again, but it's probably a good choice if you want fast food Asian food. read more

We love their food quality. The chicken is all white and not chewy like other places around. It sometimes take a little while to prepare but I think it is just because it is busy. We love the Thai Fried Noodles, Peanut Noodles and General Tso Chicken. read more

Fusion dish is a great restaurant to go to for good food! They have really fast service, and the food is served fresh cooked! It's one of the easiest take-out restaurants that has good quality food. I like that you can sit down at the restaurant (kind of small though) or you can choose take-out. The only thing that can be kind of frustrating is the spice levels, I mean don't get me wrong it's great and all but if you are coming for your first or second time you might pick way too spicy or not spicy enough. We have lived in Rockford for 12 years and have never ate here or the place that was there before. We tried some take out tonight and both dishes were delicious!!! The Bulgolgi was very flavorful, the beef was extremely tender with lots of vegetables, the Orange Chicken was perfect, very tender, lightly battered and not overpowering. We also had the egg rolls, very crisp and favorable. We most definetly will be back again and again! Plenty leftover for lunch tomorrow and the price was right. read more

We wanted to try Thai food closer to our home, not a good choice...we did take out and they got our order wrong, I am not really too picky so I still had what they gave us and there was very little flavor to the food and the noodles were not even rice noodles. We tried this place when it first opened and weren't blown away by the taste and have since just resorted to either our fave Thai or fave Chinese place when we wanted either. We decided to give it a shot again for take out. I was told it would be 40 minutes - that's fine and I'm glad that they let me know before I gave my order. Perhaps they were short staffed...we did discover a big group leaving when we picked up the order. Either way, we were fine with waiting. On to the food...we ordered crab Rangoon - meh, the cream cheese was very thin/drippy and no real crab flavor (that's rare anymore anyways, so not a deal breaker) but they were at least cooked perfect. We had Pad See Ew - flavor wise was good, just wish there would have been more sauce, Mongolian Beef - which had no Asian flavors to it and basically tasted like brown gravy/pot roast which was strange, Hunan Beef had a decent spice level but something was still lacking in the flavor department there...surprisingly, the kids' Sesame Chicken was probably the best of the entrees ordered that night and I'm not generally a fan of that dish. The cherry on top of this whole experience was that we got to eat our lackluster food atop of dried out instant rice. Ugh. All of this for the low, low price of $60+....our regular/similar orders at our favorite Chinese & Thai places are lower in price and higher in flavor. read more
