Just like others have said, this restaurant is in a strip mall on a busy street, so it's easy to find and navigate to. There's plenty of free parking out front as well. When I visited on a weekday evening, there was nobody else dining there-just one lone Door Dasher coming to pick up a delivery order. It felt kind of odd, but it was also nice to have the place to ourselves. Food was prepared quickly and was tasty. The stir fry that my wife ordered a had a bit of a kick to it, but wasn't overly spicy. The vegetables were cooked nicely and had a good flavor as well. Nothing was outrageous that sticks out as memorable about our visit, but I'd have no hesitation in returning to try even more items from the very large menu.

The service is a little slow since they're a small restaurant but the waitress was such a nice lady. She was very accommodating and had a great attitude. I ordered a thai iced tea and it was crazy sweet. Not my type but i can see it being good for someone with a sweet tooth For my meal, I got the thai spice fried rice. It was kind of sweet and was packed full of flavor. It came with a variety of protein and it all went well together.

We're in Utah for a couple of days and decided to come back to this place. The first time I came here was in 2014 and all I remember is that it was really good. After we ordered our food and I started eating I honestly lost sight of the world around me. Everything was a blur. Only I and the food existed and it was like an out of body experience. I kid you not, the food was so good I had 4 servings! 4 servings! This food hit my soul and took me on a beautiful journey where only good things exist and all is well in the world. I have had Thai food from other places in other states and this place is way up there in flavor, I mean way up there. I highly highly highly recommend this place.

Despite it's close proximity to my home, I had never been to Thai Spice until just a few weeks ago (and to be perfectly honest, only because I could not get ahold of my preferred Thai restaurant). It's a pretty standard spot, with all the standard dishes, but depending on what you're looking for, that's no bad thing. We called ahead to order take out, and were informed it would take 45 minutes to be prepared. This strip has limited parking, considering the amount of businesses there, but you can park along the East side and nearer Hoppers if you get desperate. The interior of Thai Spice is pleasantly dark and moody, and appeared clean. It was fairly busy on a Friday night. We arrived right at 45 minutes from our call, and our order was all packed and ready to go. Servers were friendly enough, and we were quickly on our way. We shared the following: Combo sampler - This includes two each of chicken satay, samosas, and eggrolls, plus a sweet chili sauce and a peanut sauce. The fried items were decently crispy, the chicken cooked well, and I liked the samosas (filled with meat and peas in a mild (read: would like it stronger) curry seasoning) best of all. Chicken Pad Thai - This was probably the least favorite of everyone. It was not bad, but simply consisted of tons of greasy noodles, a bit of chicken, and a sprinkle of bean sprouts. Flavor was uninspired, and over-sweet, and it needed brightening by some herbs and/or more vegetables. Chicken and Broccoli - Another standard/boring dish, but the broccoli was perfectly crisp-tender. Sauce was quite sweet. Tom Kha Gai Soup-I missed the slivers of kaffir lime typically found atop this soup (there was one whole leaf floating in the broth, but it did not impart as intense a flavor), otherwise this was yummy. Massaman curry-Creamy, peanutty, and a little spicier than we were expecting (we had kids dining, so that was the only reason for any concern), but I loved the heat, and it was not overwhelming! Yellow Curry-Another great curry, with lots of yummy vegetables (I particularly dug the potato in both of 'em). They sent us home with a generous amount of rice, and everything we had tasted good (the curries most of all!), but it was all so oily! If you are looking for average/standard Thai dishes, you will be totally satisfied here. Not a new favorite for me, but it'll curb that Thai craving when it hits.

Loved their Massaman curry. The Phad Thai was good too, more on the sweeter side but great. Definitely fulfilled my cravings for Thai food

Ve La Thai Fining Dining was a last minute addition to my Salt Lake City list. Located in…read moreCottonwood Heights, about 30 minutes outside the city, the restaurant is in a strip mall. Here is where the identity crisis starts. You walk into a nice space with red velvet decor and Italian landscapes. I had to do a double-take to make sure we were in the proper establishment. The menu has photos of their dishes, great for a visual eater like myself. We started with the soft shell crabs in a chili sauce. The crabs were lightly battered, crisp and a delicious taste. We saved the sauce to pour over our rice, an added bonus. The pad Thai was to sweet, and over-run with red onions. This is not a combo I'm familiar with, not my favorite. The pork spiced ribs with honey, tomatoes, Thai spices and sesame oil was unique and good. They fell off the bone tender. What is stuck in my craw is the message sent by the physical space. Beautiful red velvet chairs, Italian landscapes and wine bottles lining the walls does not lend to fine Thai dining in my mind. A least paint over the walls and add SOME Thai touches. Let your wait staff know living on cell phone and ignoring patrons is never a winning message. The male bathroom has a toilet covered with painted tape and several missing pieces of porcelain. Are you a serious business or a pop-up finishing off someone else's lease? Attention to details are important and help set the table way before the food arrives. I wish Ve La Thai Fine Dining the best, but question their commitment after being here for over a year, perhaps it is all intentional.

It may have been because of the fact that it was Valentine's Day and they were super busy, or because we didn't have a reservation, but we waited 30 minutes to place our order. I ordered the thai chili basil stir fry with tofu and they brought it with chicken. So I had to have them redo the order because I am vegetarian. My mom ordered the pad khee mao, my aunt ordered something else but asked to substitute the rice for noodles . They said ok. But then came back 10 minutes later and said no substitutions. So she ordered the same dish as my mom. My niece ordered stir fried rice with seafood. My mom, aunt and I absolutely LOVED our dishes and thought they were super tasty. Mine had an abundance of veggies and really good sauce. Wow! It was really good. My niece thought her dish was only ok, but she is super picky and has them take out half the ingredients, and does not like a LOT of food, so I wouldn't take her opinion! The server never came back to check on us and it took another 30 minutes after we were done eating to catch someone's eye to get them to bring our check. Again, I don't know if this was because they were busy and it was Valentine's Day or what. But they had at least 10 people waiting to be seated the entire time we were there, so you would think they'd be more interested in turning the tables over to get more people seated. The restaurant has very cool walls and ceilings (the decor) and is in a very lovely deep purple/plum color. It is vey nice and does look upscale inside. We laughed about this place being in a smith's grocery mini mall area because the inside was so incongruent with the outside. Despite the incorrect food and lousy service, we did agree we would want to go back because the food was so amazing. But decided that the next time we go, we'll make sure to make reservations just in case that was part of the issue when we visited it for the first time on Valentines Day without reservations!

She personally replied to my initial inquiry and stayed helpful, responsive, and organized throughout the planning process. We needed a space where all 14 of us could sit together, and the board room ended up being the perfect fit. At first it seemed a bit tucked away, but once we saw it in person, we loved it. It even has an Amazon assistant for music, which we fully intended to use creatively, but we ended up leaving it on the same band all night because we were too busy talking and enjoying ourselves. We pre‑ordered appetizers, something I wasn't initially thrilled about, but it turned out to be the right call. It saved us from having to coordinate choices with 13 other people. Our group aren't huge eaters, so we sampled the beet carpaccio, which was light but delicious, and the bruschetta, which was also very good. Once drinks and appetizers wrapped up, Jeremy came by to take our entrée orders. There was a pork chop special and a grouper special that evening. I had the grouper, which was excellent, fresh, flavorful, and not a hint of fishiness. Several people ordered the pork chop, which looked fantastic, and the fried chicken was another popular choice. After dinner, Jeremy, who had been wonderfully attentive all night, surprised us by bringing out perfectly cut slices of the cake we brought, complete with lit candles and a cute sparkler for my SO's slice. It was such a thoughtful touch. All in all, it was a truly memorable evening. Huge thanks to Kimi and her team for making the celebration so special. Their menu changes weekly so it's always exciting to see what their new burgers are every Thursday…read more My friends ordered their "gyro" burger and I ordered off the menu along with a few appetizers. I didn't try the gyro burger because it was very raw on the inside. It was lamb and wagyu but I prefer my burger meats to be cooked all the way through. My friends said it was sweet and it's probably because they glazed the bun. The fat bastard oysters were too big for my liking. There's also gelato on top which was weird because it made the oyster taste like it was partially frozen. I don't recommend this. The rolls tasted like biscuits. It was crumbly and it wasn't expected for a nice restaurant. The heirloom tomato pastry was my favorite dish of the night. The half sashimi trout was more like a stew in sweet sauce. The baby yellow potatoes were just added without any seasonings. Assuming it should soak in the sweet juices? I didn't care for it. Trout was good, but preferred that the skin was crispy, which was extremely soggy, drowned in the sauce. Server asked if I wanted bread to drink the sauce and sure. Why not. It may taste better with regular bread and it wasn't. You can also skip valet parking if you just walk an extra minute down the parking lot. I forgot what one of the desserts name but it was the one with butter cake. This was extremely sweet too with the gooey caramel sauce. The donut was ridiculously expensive at $16 with a little honeycomb decoration. Nothing special with the desserts. Overall, everything is sweet here. Their menu is a lot and I feel like the burger menu can be a little too much and trying too hard to be fancy.

The meal was delicious. We started off with the crispy Brussels sprouts - to say it's the best Brussels sprout I've ever had would be an understatement. The texture of them is out of this world, the apple cider vinegar that glazes them is perfect. The sweet acidity of that glaze is an incredible accompaniment to the sprouts, almonds, and cheese. Next we shared the celeriac blue cheese emulsion and wedge salad. The emulsion was delicious. The herb vinaigrette on our salad was delightful. I ordered the wagyu for my entree and to put it simply - it was a joy to eat. The plating was beautiful. Every part of the dish was sensational. My boyfriend ordered the lamb shank and the lamb fell off the bone and the potato it was served with was unbelievable! I felt so joyful during my entire dinner service. It is most certainly one of the best meals I have ever had. Highly, highly, recommend. Cannot wait to come back.
