The Pad Thai had so much sauce, and was so shy on noodles, that is was hard to eat- way too salty. This place is located in a little plaza on the corner of State Highway 3 and just past Nasa Road 1. From the outside you would expect the place to be cafeteria-style but in actuality, its really nicely decorated and formal looking on the inside. Nice contrasting white and maroon tablecloths, cloth napkins, wine glasses and full set of silverware set on the tables. People come in dressed casually but by first impressions, you would think the place is a bit of a fancy schmancy cafe. The servers are also dressed formerly in white button ups, black bow ties and suspender black pants. It was quite cute and the formality was rather refreshing compared to your average Asian restaurants in the Clear Lake area. We ordered the fresh mint summer rolls and thai iced tea to start. The summer rolls are a staple that I order whenever I go into a Thai restaurant and these were the best I've had in this area. I've had better thai iced teas but they were still very good. For the entrees, upon recommendation (since I am not very familiar with Thai cuisine) I ordered the Lotus Duck and my boyfriend ordered the Softshell Crab (#16). The duck was good but it wasn't really what I expected. I thought it would be more of a sautee of crispy duck and vegetables but instead, it was more of a stew of duck and vegetables paired with rice. The rice was very cutely served in a heart shape. I wasn't a big fan of the dish but then again, I personally don't care for stew-ish dishes. My boyfriend's dish looked really good and deliciously fried but I didn't have much of it because I have a slight allergy towards crab. I was so looking forward to ordering the sticky rice and mango for dessert but unfortunately they were all out. We got the fried banana instead and that was still very tasty. Overall, I loved my appetizer but really did not care for my entree. But that's nothing against the chefs. I would still gladly come back here and look forward to trying one of their noodle dishes. It is unfortunate they are closed Mondays because that's my day off. Regarding the service; we actually had two different servers throughout the course of our meal. We started with a female server and from the entree on we had an older male server. The female server was very friendly and helpful with menu recommendations. The male server joked around with us and was also very friendly and attentive. I would definitely come back to this place. The service was extremely pleasant, the atmosphere was nice, and if I find an entree I love I will definitely update and recommend it. I think that the food was a wee bit overpriced but nothing outrageous. In fact, I understand its pricing because it is a small, local, family-owned place that doesn't do nearly as much business as the chains around here so I would gladly pay the extra couple of bucks to keep them in business. Its actually quite sad to see some of the sub-par chains prosper around here while quality places like Thai Seafood don't do nearly as well. I give this place more of a 3 and a half stars rather than a solid 3 stars. read more

Not very good. The restaurant in general smelled like urine. We were starving and our first choice Jasmine Thai was closed. We ordered pork satay and cheese rolls for appetizers and they were 'okay". My huband's Thai Tea was good. I ordered Pad Kee Mao...and my huband ordered the Lotus Duck. When the food arrived my order was wrong. The waiter sat it before me and said, "oh you order the noodles didn't you?" I was in a good mood and asked, "is this spicey?" He said that it was so I told him that I would just eat what he brought to me since I was starving. It was fair in taste. My husband said that his duck was "okay" but the presentation looked awful to me. I would have expected a discount on the check but was charged the full price. I left out wondering if I was going to be sick. The management really needs to address the urine smell of the restaurant since I'm not the only person that has mentioned this in their review. read more

WARNING IF YOU LIKE YOUR FOOD ROACH FREE DO NOT EAT HERE!!!!!!!! Went there for lunch today (July 9th) and I should I left when my soup smelled like dog food, but I decided not to eat the soup. My main dish came out I took about 4 bites and then I saw a roach! It was covered in sauce so I'd image it has been simmering in the pot all day. Just came home from a great dinner w great service. We both had the special today which was deep fried lobster. Price 23.99 each and included brown or white rice shrimp also deep fried, and salad. The Thai tea was also very good. We always order the homemade coconut ice cream along with the friend bananas. Fantastic way to end the meal. This seems like a run down restaurant and not someplace you would go to for quality thai food but it's actually pretty decent! I typically get the basil fried rice or one of the noodle dishes because that's my pick at most thai restaurants. I like that it's pretty affordable and quiet as well. The food is amazing and the service is even better. It doesn't look like anything special from the outside, but inside it is very quaint and nice. I've been here a few times and it is always delicious. Satay is really good, shrimp pad tai is delicious, the lotus duck is super good, and the seafood curry is off the chain. They hit all the flavor notes too. I'm not enjoying my Thai food unless I'm profusely sweating from all the heat, spice, and flavor. It hits all those notes in spades. Everything here is freaking delicious. Pretty cheap too for the great quality of the food and everything is very fresh. 10/10 read more

I ordered NR4 Thai-Style Fried Rice with chicken and medium spices. I received burnt food, it was awful and it seemed like it was re-fried leftover white rice with too many onions to hide the burnt taste. It had no spices, very bland and just taste of burnt rice. Of course, I will be taking the plate back for either a replacement freshly cooked meal or refund. I was able to go back and they replaced the meal properly. Well I came here tonight for a quiet dinner and gracefully fell out of the hummer and tripped over the curb after rolling around holding my knee in pain I managed to get up and walk in as if nothing occurred like cat that lands on her feet after falling off the roof... and the place is very Calming especially when in pain from a recent roll on the Sidewalk real linen table cloths all steamed glassware and formal table settings soft music. The staff is Very nice and I orders a eggplant appetizer that was so perfectly cooked with a sweet sauce and cilantro and shrimp red curry dish they let me fast the lobster sauce and the duck sauce before ordering and the entire diner was great. I'm going to try something different my next visit. Now to try to walk out as elegantly as I came in and wow is that a Thai massage next door. Yep.. I CAN NOT believe I've lived in and around the area for 20+ years and never experienced this place! The food was absolutely amazing as was the service!! It is Clear Lake's best kept secret. We loved it!!! We had the squid lime sauce salad or something for appetizer and it makes your lips tingle... then we shared 2 plates: the fried duck and something they suggested. ... mussels, squid, shrimp, and clams. We wanted SUPER spicy, but the waiter warned us to have it cooked normal and add spice. This method was perfect! We added as we needed and it was so delicious and super spicy to our liking. Thai Seafood is arguably the best restaurant in Clear Lake. You won't find any better Thai food in the Houston area. The family cooks from old family recipes with fresh ingredients. Stand-out dishes include the fried eggplant appetizer, shrimp with red wine sauce, gai wan, cashew chicken, tiger cry, and fish in tamarind sauce. If you manage to save room for dessert, don't miss the coconut ice cream (hand-churned at the restaurant) on sticky rice with fried bananas. You have to look for it at the back of a cruddy parking lot but it's nice inside and it's completely worth it. Service is excellent. Not sure about the great reviews, I thought this place was just OK. Today was my third time here, probably my last. came for lunch, service was leisurely. I asked the waiter if he could substitute tofu for chicken on the lunch special. So they bring it out, no tofu or chicken. Took a while to flag down the other waiter, when I told him, he didn't apologize, but went back to the kitchen. Had a little trouble getting him to understand what I was asking for, but he came back, took my plate, and said they would fix it. Next, the waiter who took my order came out to explain that it was zucchini, not chicken, in my entree. Again, he misunderstood. While I was explaining to him what I wanted, he walked away from me! at which point I asked for a check... So, I can't say that the service was great, maybe I caught them on a bad day. read more

We always make an effort to plan one meal here whenever we visit Clear Lake. I've never had a bad dish. A little pricey but always worth it. One day I'll make it in for lunch. The spring rolls are always fresh and dare I say perfect. Some people use Pad Thai as a measure for a good thai restaurant worthy of a return trip. For me it's the spring roll. Tom Kha with tofu is great. Tiger Cry is a personal favorite. And they are the only thai restaurant I have found that serves fried banana with sticky rice and coconut ice cream. Went for the first time yesterday. Upon being seated, you can smell the panic in the air as the restaurant was clearly understaffed. The next thing a person will notice is that the "ambiance music" is both too loud and rather inappropriate. Not rock music or anything, just instrumental tunes to classic songs. Order the green curry lunch special and some soft spring rolls. Service is slow, which is what I expected. The soup and salad that comes with the special is unspectacular, but whatever. It's not why I'm there. The green curry comes out, it's decent, but not great. The saving grace to the whole experience is that the lunch special is a good value for money. I can't imagine Thai Seafood ever becoming one of my "go-to" places, but I will probably go again some day. read more

So disappointed in my last lunch there. I have been a long time customer of this restaurant and met a friend there for lunch this week. It was horrible. The soup of the day was Hot and Sour, I think. It was so bad, neither of us ate it. It had a funny smell. Then I had a scallop dish that I think maybe had 1 scallop cut up into little pieces. Sauce was separating. Talk about an awesome lunch special. For 10 bucks (which included the +20% tip I gave for the excellent service) I received a cup of some savory thai soup, one of the most delicious fried spring rolls that has ever entered my mouth, a fresh salad, and a decent sized portion of spicy pork and bamboo. The spiciness level or the pork was absolutely perfect (I consider myself a bit of a spicy junkie so I like my tongue to get a decent burn). I was glad to discover that they did not dumb down the spice level like they do at some other restaurants I've been to. The dinner is also spectacular albeit a little more expensive. I would definitely recommend the crispy duck and the tiger cry. Their satays are also excellent. The atmosphere and decorum appears very formal but there is no problem if you'd like to dress casual. One of my favorite spots. The best spring rolls that I have tasted and I hold all spring rolls to their standards. I Tired the crispy duck. Was skeptical about it but was glad I did, not the gamey taste I was expecting. There is a noodle that I I frequently get but it escaped me now. And no its not the pad thai.. Regardless this place is first rate, you can dress casual and they are still very professional in their attire, mannerism as if this were a top notch 5 star resturant downtown.
