This Clear Lake establishment has such stellar reviews, that I was simply compelled to eat here ;-) I ordered the Scallop Chu Chee lunch special, which comes with the soup of the day, salad with a peanut dressing, fresh or fried veggie roll (w/peanut sauce for dipping), and entree. (ALL of this for $7.95) The description reads: Scallops smothered in special red curry w/coconut milk and basil leaves. On the menu there are 2 peppers next to the dish, representing a spicy level of "medium". WELL, while I still enjoyed everything, the spicy level almost got to me (My mouth was on fire and wouldn't subside even when I quit eating, and my nose was running like a leaky sieve!!) GREAT service and food though!!! Yay!! I'm a fan. =) read more

In considering my review you may want to take into consideration that: o I was expecting to go to another restaurant and it was closed for an emergency so we came here. o This restaurant's focus is on seafood and I don't eat seafood. Thus it's my first time here in years. o As we arrived, I had my mouth set for pork mussamun curry. They have chicken mussamun but not pork. It's a pleasant relaxing ambiance. My companions knew the owner so I'm sure that made things go more smoothly. It was quiet so we were able to talk without shouting. The service was impeccable. I settled for a pork red curry. It was good, but the pork was either sliced too thick or was a little tough. I'm not sure which. It was tasty and satisfying but not as good as Thai Stellar down the road. read more

Thai seafood never disappoints. We enjoyed the Thai tea, fried spring rolls, fish with garlic chili sauce(must try!), the crispy duck, the soft shell crab with thai chili sauce, and pad see ew. The tom kha soup was also delicious. Very affordable with an elegant upscale atmosphere. Friendly owner :-). read more

Don't ever change Thai Seafood! The lunch deal is the best for miles around and I love the spice levels. Had one of the best bowls of juk I'd ever tasted in America here once. Yes, it's a time warp, but you've got to love these places (cf Frenchies up the road) while they are still around. read more

Ordered take out and everything was packaged well and food was delicious. Had the beef lime appetizer, basil mussels, thai fried rice and fish lunch special. Will definitely return soon and try other menu items! read more

Pros: incredibly authentic Thai food. The flavors and the textures are spot on. Plenty of parking. Fast to go service. Cons: I don't actually like authentic Thai food! I like a more Americanized version. Scary looking area. read more

We came here for lunch on Mother's Day. We always have such a great experience. The food is delicious, and the staff are really nice. Our daughter is rather picky. Management allowed us to go next door and get her a quesadilla. I would definitely recommend this place. read more

First, I would like to say that the food here was really good. The Fish in Tamarind Sauce (It's crispy!) was awesome. The Pad Thai wasn't bad, either, but it had so many bean sprouts. The rice came on a plate, and not in a pot, so if you need more (I did, I'm a fatty, I know) you have to ask for it. I thought that was odd. We tried the Thai Tea and it was -the best- Thai Tea I've ever had. But that's the taste side of it. I found it to be a bit pricy, especially with no free refills. That made me sad because I was going to spend another $2.40 on a drink. Anyways, as the saying goes you should never judge a book by it's cover. Don't judge Thai Seafood by the outside of the restaurant. It's in the corner of a shopping center, but when you walk in it's a very, very nice restaurant. I didn't expect that. I was wearing a t-shirt and jeans, probably not a big deal, but personally I felt like I should be dressed up! The service here, despite other reviews was really attentive and friendly. They are good at selling their products, too, so be careful if you're easily persuaded. I planned on giving it four stars, honestly, but I still think there are things they need besides good service and good food. I can get better valued Thai food somewhere else, such as Thai Jasmine or even Thai Spice. Overall though, they have potential to be not just a good Thai restaurant, but a great Thai restaurant. I'll definitely be back to try some new dishes and see if they are consistent, etc. I look forward to it! read more

Thai Seafood - Fish in tamarine sauce. - Thai Near Me - Webster, Texas

This is my favorite Thai place in the Bay area. They have an unassuming strip mall location and exterior, and have been around for at least 15 years. They have quality authentic servings, an extensive menu particularly on the seafood options, and a nice quiet and classy dining environment. I've probably been very happy with 9 out of 10 meals. This last time I had their garlic chili fried fish and my colleague had cashew chicken. We both finished with a nice sweet rice with mango dessert. The long time owner's name is V something, as I chat with him occasionally, but can never remember his proper name! I think they are only open for dinner now on weekdays. read more

I've been going there since I was little. The service is great. Great ambiance for the price. This place is FANTASTIC. The tables are setup lovely with table clothes and folded napkins. The waiters are friendly, well dressed and efficient. They have a large variety of lunch special options with pictures in the menu. I ordered a lunch special and felt like I was stealing for it only to cost $8! I had the Red curry with scallops, it was amazing. It also came with a cup of soup, spring roll and a side salad. I will for sure be back to visit here! read more

It's been my favourite restaurant since I was a kid. Do you know why? Because the recipes are already perfect and has never changed. Everything I've ever ordered is the best. Also, nobody makes the sticky rice dessert better than Thai Seafood. I've ordered it elsewhere, and it's not the same. Lastly, the presentation of the food is absolutely wonderful! It's so pretty and the heart shaped rice is cute! I want this place to be here forever! read more

For some reason this is not the first place we think about heading for lunch when wanting Thai. Maybe because it is not as close to work as others but we are always glad that we go when we make the trip. Excellent food, great prices (especially for lunch), and great service. Highlights: lunch special can't be beat for cost, serving sizes, and tastes. And our server Victor is awesome. Head here for a great all around experience. read more

Thanks to David T. for the fun UYE here earlier this week! I enjoyed great food and wonderful company! I hadn't been here before because hubby isn't fond of seafood, so was very excited for lunch here. And it didn't disappoint! They do have plenty of other choices than seafood, though, so hopefully I can get hubby to bring me back. The lunch was such a fantastic bargain and delicious, too! I ordered the chicken in a peanut sauce (I don't remember the proper name), but it comes with soup, a fresh or fried spring roll, a small salad and your choice of white or brown rice and your meal choice. The servings weren't outstandingly huge, but it was definitely plenty of food! I don't like to eat so much at lunch that I need to nap later; my boss frowns on sleeping on the job! I also ordered a couple of fried spring rolls to go for my hubby and my whole meal plus the spring rolls (without tip) was $10.76! Now THAT is a heck of a deal! I also love the fact that you can choose from fresh or fried spring rolls and white or brown rice. I'm trying to eat healthier (please ignore previous reviews of bad-for-you-places *cough CiCi's Pizza and Taco Bell cough*) and this was a very welcome choice!! The place is very nice inside; I didn't feel out of place in jeans and a nice top, but I also wouldn't feel too overdressed in slacks or a dress. The service was wonderful and it wasn't very busy at 11:30. A few more people did trickle in later (maybe 10 tables?) but definitely not what you call busy! It was a Wednesday so maybe that's not the case on other days. If you are on a tight time schedule, you might want to mention it to them, as the service, while good, seems to be more of a relaxed pace then a lunch hour rush pace (maybe because there wasn't really a rush?). The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was the repairman working in the ceiling right next to our table. Not sure why he was there but I would think they could have waited until later in the afternoon after the lunch hour. All in all I would definitely love to go back to this little hidden gem! I might call ahead first and make sure the repairman was done though... read more

I ate here over Christmas weekend with Leigh M, and was very impressed by the quality of Thai food at a restaurant located in a strip mall in suburban Texas (and this is coming from someone who grew up in suburban Texas -- the food usually ain't all that great y'all). The duck, altho pricier than many other items in the menu, were beyond fantastic. Blew my mind away! I recommend that at this restaurant, and this restaurant is good. Thai Seafood is an amazing deal for a weekday lunch. I can't comment yet on their dinner options, but after going once for lunch, I'm certainly going to make a habit of eating here. I came with a few friends for lunch on a Thursday around 12:30pm. There was plenty of seating available and the service was prompt. Their lunch specials are day-by-day, and one of the options on the Thursday menu was the Seafood Green Curry, which both a friend and I got. The lunch specials come with soup, salad, a spring roll, and rice. This works out to be a lot of high quality food for only about $8-$10. The seafood curry was filled with a lot of big chunks of seafood (mussels, shrimp, scallops, and squid), which were all cooked well. I'm always a little concerned eating at Thai restaurants since I have a peanut allergy, but the waitress was very accommodating and made sure to sub out the peanut sauce for the salad with two other options for me. Overall, the food was delicious and the value certainly makes coming here regularly an easy choice. read more

This restaurant is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in town simply because it has great service and great food. This restaurant has a very neighborhood feel to it. The servers are so polite and friendly and greet you with their warm smile every time. I have to tell them everytime to not call me sir. They remember their guests and their preferences everytime. We have seen several recurring guests at different visits. I dont use the world aweseome a lot but that happens to be the only adjective that comes to my mind when describing the overall quality of food at this place. This is especially true for all the spicy dishes. I love their Pad Ki Mao and Gapao Tofu. I ask the server to make it extra spicy and they deliver it just how I like it every single time. Besides they take the effort decorate the dish with different designs. The degree to which this fascinates my girlfriend is a cause of concern and psychiatric evaluation. Also, they serve the ice cold Chang beer. I dont know the history of this beer but it has become one of my favorites and I make sure that I order one everytime I visit Thai Seafood restaurant. Lastly, they have a badass website. Check it out! http://www.thaiseafoodrestaurant.com/ read more

I've been going here for at least 10 years. It made Thai food one of my favorite cuisines. I've lived in lots of different cities and eaten at lots of different restaurants. Their Pad Thai is still the best I've ever had. If you like Pad Thai and you haven't had theirs, you need to go eat it. Like, now. If spicy is your way, the Pad Kee Mao is VERY tasty, and will make you sweat at the same time. Get the spring rolls too. The peanut sauce makes them worth it. I don't live in Clear Lake anymore, but find an excuse to go every few months just to eat here. See a full review at http://www.bayoucitybites.com/2011/04/thaiphoon-hits-bay-area.html read more

Fair warning -- I just moved here from LA, where the Thai food is plentiful and delicious. My husband and I are also gluttons for good Thai. Honestly, I didn't expect this area to have good Thai food, but when this place got good reviews, I figured it'd be worth giving it a try. When we first walked in, I commented that it was a little weird that you couldn't smell anything. Normally, at Thai restaurants, you can always smell the delicious mix of spices....here, nothing. The service was good -- until my husband (who wasn't driving) ordered a third beer and the waitress questioned it....Singha has just slightly more alcohol than water ;) The food was bland and boring. We ordered fresh spring rolls, green curry (4 star spicy....came out as "white girl spicy"), and pad see ewe. None of it was awful, but nothing was particularly good. I'm still hopeful that we'll find some good Thai food in the area, but I suspect we may need to actually go into downtown Houston. read more

Though I now seldom get to the Clear Lake area, Thai Seafood remains one of the places I like to eat when I DO venture that far. The atmosphere isn't very casual or very formal, but tends slightly more toward the formal: even the lunch crowd is treated to tablecloths and cloth napkins! Lunch is unquestionably my favorite time to visit, with daily specials consisting of choice of featured entrees; steamed white or brown rice;egg or spring roll; salad; and soup. Though plenty of mild choices are available, all are very flavorful. And be warned - dishes designated as "spicy" are GENUINELY spicy. One of my favorite memories of eating at Thai Seafood was when a friend from Cincinnati and I were eating a coconut-milk-based curry, fiery and succulent. The friend - who had never eaten Thai food before - was bearing up quite nicely, I thought, under the onslaught of pepper. Sometime well into the meal, I paused long enough to say, "Wow, this is pretty hot stuff!"; at which point, my dinner companion breathed a sigh of relief, and said, "Oh, I am so glad to hear you say that. I thought it was just ME!" Seems she had refrained from saying anything, for fear I'd tease her about her "nawthen" palate! Save room, if possible, for a sweet treat after dinner: the Thai tea, sweet sticky rice, and coconut ice cream are all winners! read more

We went to Thai Seafood to have dinner on 5/5/11 based upon the good reviews from Yelp. Boy were we disappointed! First, I had the Yellow Curry Chicken. The first thing I noticed was the smell. It wasn't my dish, but my fiance's (i'll get to that in a moment). My dish was ok. After eating half the plate, i realized it was so uninteresting I lost interest and just stopped eating. That is rare for me. Now onto the other dishes we had. My fiance had Lemongrass Seafood and her sister had Red Curry Shrimp. When they came to the table it smelled like a locker room (dirty gym socks/urinal) and was a big turn off. They both stopped eating it at some point when they thought about it and said, "I have a feeling this is going to make me sick". Also, the cheese rolls there have Turkey Ham? That was not our favorite choice. After all that, we got the bill for three meals and it was over $60. For that kind of dinner we did NOT think it was worth it. Maybe it was the fact that it was Cinco De Mayo (regular chef out drinking?), that I ordered chicken at "Thai Seafood", or that they had some old fish and shrimp they needed to serve to someone. I don't know, but I felt that it was my responsibility to let people know that this place isn't as awesome as I thought it was going to be based on the Yelp reviews. read more

I found this place recently after I moved here(about 2 months ago, but I didn't have the time to leave a review). Whenever, my husband and I go to an Asian restaurant, we usually like eating the rice dishes that they have to offer. On our first day, we ordered the Chicken Tom Yum, Spicy Combo Fried Rice and the Lotus Duck with rice. They have a spiciness level between 1-3, and we went with 3 for both. The spicy fried rice was excellent. It reminded me of all the good ones I've had back at home and the spicy kick was exactly how I wanted it to be. The flavors of the rice, meat and veggies just made me wolf down as fast as I can and the more I eat it, the hungrier I became. My husband tried it too and thought it was the best fried rice he's had in Clear Lake. He became slightly jealous of how good my dish is and wanted me to share. He also decided he will order it the next time we come here(as I type this, we've been here every week since, it's THAT good). I give it a 9/10. My husband thought his lotus duck was very good too. I can't really comment on what I think of it because I've never really liked duck or crab meat, but I tried it anyways and thought it was very tender and juicy. The spice and veggies mixed in the meats brings out a sweet and slight tangy flavor that went well with the rice. He would give this a 7/10. Unfortunately, I can't give any praises to their Tom Yum. I'm not sure why, but all the Thai restaurants that we've tried around here make very similar soups that look and taste absolutely nothing like the one in Southeast Asia. It's something that I used to eat fairly regularly, but I've stopped trying since I can make a better one at home with ingredients bought from the Asian supermarket. 2/10 The ambiance and setting of this restaurant felt very fancy and stiff. I don't really like it other than the paintings that they have hanging on their walls. So ever since we found Thai Seafood, we would only get takeout and eat at home while watching Netflix. read more

First off, the owner and staff is super friendly. The own remembers a lot of familiar faces (one being mine). The place is super clean and looks like you're in a fancy restaurant. Most purple are wearing jeans and t-shirts but at Thai Seafood they treat you like you're wearing your good fur! Some of their amazing dishes: noodle dish - Pad Sei Ewe (spelling?), rice dish and the best plate in the house is their Cashew Nut Chicken. It has chicken, onions, green onions, cashews, in a spicy sauce over a pile of heart shaped white rice - although you can get brown rice of preferred. Their fresh spring rolls with peanut sauce are awesome, along with their fried egg rolls! Just tried a new appetizer last night, some chicken, beef, and shrimp on a skewer - amazing! Their hot tea is the best around as well! Try their lunch specials - you get a lot of food for about $6-8. read more

Ok so I will say I am a novice when it comes to Thai food. That said I had heard so many good thing about this place that I felt it was a good place to start. That coupled with very reasonable prices on lunch specials led me to drag my wife here. Yes she puts up with my Yelp obsession which has led me to try many new cuisines. First off when you walk in it has the formal yet relaxed atmosphere. Cloth napkins and nice plates. The waiters/waitresses are dressed in formal attire and are busy running around like busy bees making sure everyone is taken care of. The lunch specials are around 6.95 each and include a salad, soup, and spring roll followed by the main course. I went with the fried spring roll which was crispy and slightly sweet and only had veggies in it. It came with the very nice salad with a unique peanut dressing. The soup I was not sure of(soup of the day) but it was ok. My wife had hers with the fresh veggie spring roll. It was good but she did not care for the mint in it. For my main course I had the Shrimp Pad Gapao. It was very spicy(at least for me) and the shrimp tasted very fresh and were cooked just right. The white rice comes in a heart shaped mold. My thai iced tea really saved my A$$ with how spicy my food was. It really worked great to cool me down and I love it. My wife had the Gai Mamuong and she loved it. It really saved the day since she did not care for her spring Roll or salad(she does not like sweet dressing on a salad). I really enjoyed my salad though. We finished it all off with a shared home made coconut ice cream. The presentation of the ice cream was very cute and really finished the meal on a high note. The ice cream was not too sweet and was so delicious. Overall I have to say I can't wait to go back. I thought the value at lunch was great at 6.95 for a meal. I might not be a expert on Thai food but Thai Seafood has got me excite to learn a lot more read more

This place is racist. We phoned our call in and arrived half an hour after to see if the food was ready. Not only do you get your entree, but they bring you a small bowl of soup, a small salad, and an egg roll, too. If I make back to the area I will have to stop by again.
