This place is an absolute hidden GEM in Mt Juliet. Right by the movie theater in providence sits the single best Thai restaurant I've ever been to. The wife and I walked in on a whim for a spot of lunch and were blown away! The freshness and quality of the ingredients were superior, bar-none, the flavors and umami of every single item was killer, and the plentiful portion sizes left nothing to be desired! We ordered 2 appetizers and 2 lunch entrees (both of which came with a miso soup and salad). We started with the spicy edamame & gyoza. I cannot stress this enough, as I am an edamame and gyoza aficionado - these were among the best versions of each I've ever had! The edamame was perfectly steamed and seasoned with a delectable spicy sauce. The gyoza were a whole nother class of tasty. Super tender, super fresh, not dry at all like some others can tend to be and the flavors of these little dudes... WOW. Also got the garlic sauce with chicken and drunken noods with beef entrees. These were also super fresh and packed with flavor. The veggies in every dish we had tasted like they came straight out of the garden. Even the salad and the dressing they use was supeeb, and I am admittedly not a huge salad person. The miso soup was a good complement, and let's not forget the service! Super friendly, welcoming, and they really want you to enjoy your experience and food. The only thing I'll say is that when asked about a spice level. If you like things hot at all, order a level above what you'd normally consider. I love heat and am a huge spice head. I ordered a 3 (on a scale of 1-5) thinking it'd have pretty good heat. There was almost no heat at all in my dish. Luckily the flavor of the dish itself was amazing, so no complaints at all about the deliciousness of the food, but Id've loved an extra kick of heat. The wife and I left saying we cannot wait to come back and try some other dishes. We've heard others in the area raving about their super fresh sushi and such, and it looked like they had a good spread at their bar of drinks, beer, and cocktails, so we will most certainly be back soon. Yesterday was the first day I ever been to Thai Samurai. It's in the shopping center. The food was delicious and the staff were great. We got the edamame and it's cooked in some kind of garlic sauce. I prefer it to be salt only but this was a good change. The fresh rolls and spring rolls were pretty good. I got the pad thai vegetable and added shrimp and it was delicious. We also got the green curry with vegetables and a side of fried rice and fried tofu. Everything was excellent. I would go back in a heartbeat. My waitress was a dream. All of the staff work great together. What a great location. They also give military discount which was great. read more

If you are looking for good Thai and sushi in Mt. Juliet then look no further. This place literally takes the freaking cake. I came here with my best friend and when I tell you we cleaned every single plate I am not kidding. I don't event like cucumber and I probably ate 5 pieces of that roll. Had an absolutely fabulous meal here with friends...we tried a number of rolls, but my favorite had to be the Flaming Tiger...very unique with the BBQ sauce...I've never had anything like it. I dined at Thai Samurai on Sunday, January 31, 2020 at 7 pm. First impressions - the restaurant's contemporary interior design gives an overall sense of cleanliness that is so refreshing for an Asian restaurant as I would expect higher quality food and service. And indeed, my expectations were met. However, I didn't expect to be reading from a to-go menu (due to COVID pandemic). Despite being printed on high quality paper, I felt like the to-go menus cheapens the experience at such a nice looking restaurant. But that's just me being picky. I then realized their Asian fusion menu was neatly organized and felt that the to-go menu was probably better than viewing a smaller digital menu on a phone after all (haha). Unfortunately, this restaurant does not enforce social distancing or limited capacity as we were seated directly next to other parties with no dividers between booths. Appetizers: Both wonton and tom kha soups were pretty good. Wontons were nicely seasoned and wrapped. The tom kha was light, balanced, not too salty and not too rich. I liked everything about the Appetizer Combination except for the spring rolls. The spring rolls tasted like they came from a cheap Chinese take-out place, bland and boring. The chicken satay and steamed dumplings were delightful. Sushi: The ahi tower roll was probably the best sushi tower I've tasted. Presentation was beautiful and each layer of the tower was fresh and flavorful. The Heaven and Earth roll had a nice smoky flavor that I really liked, but was also rich. Volcano roll was also good - creamy and rich. Unfortunately, the spicy tuna and eel rolls looked like they were rolled by an untrained amateur sushi chef. The rolls didn't sit right on the plate and looked like they were picked up from Kroger. Entrees: The caramel duck was cooked nicely, moist with crispy skin. But the mixed vegetables were boring. The Bangkok Boat Noodles tasted flavorful. The broth tasted rich and seasoned, like a nice beef stew. I would recommend substituting for the wide flat noodles instead of the regular thin noodles. Service was great and attentive. Food came out pretty quickly for what seemed like a busy evening (since they were seating parties next to each other). Overall, I'd recommend Thai Samurai based on their clean, high quality food and their good service. But avoid this place if you're adamant social distancing. read more

5 Stars from me on my first visit. I LOVED my Pad Kee Mao with chicken. My favorite part was the addition of the lettuce, cucumber and cilantro garnish! I chopped it up and mixed it all in! Every plate on the table was an art piece! My son had the crunchy crab roll and said he definitely would order it again! My friends had ramen, ginger chicken and the Thai beef salad everyone was happy! Be warned... when you order hot, it's hot. Friend went for a 3 on the beef salad, he likes it hot, but even he said it was HOT, so order down a number and go from there. Glad to have it in the neighborhood! Welp, got a friend who is a sushi fiend, so we visited here for his birthday. I am now a sushi FAN!! I'm still a little leary of Sushimi & Nigiri, but after a few visits here, I may be a fan of those types as well. We went a little crazy & loved Everything!! We started with soy steamed Edamame that was lightly salted. YUMM!! We then had Zombie Rolls, Volcano Rolls & Salmon Skin Rolls. Birthday dude ordered a piece of Eel Nigiri, which he loved. We also ordered the Appetizer Combimation, which I did not care for at all. The extremely fresh Spring Rolls were to tough for me to chew, the Satay chicken on a skewer was good, but dry and I don't care for dumplings, but our guests enjoyed this dish. Gotta go with meh. Will preface that I am half Japanese and have had sushi in Japan. Had high hopes that the reviews would equate to our experience. Review: We ordered the calamari, which is in a batter that is NOT light and flattering like a tempura or a panko. That would have made it delicious... instead it was over fried and in a thicker crunchy batter that takes away from the squid. Shrimp summer rolls: usually this is done with clear bean noodles, carrots and cucumbers, mint and shrimp. This is a wonderful blend of crunch and flavor. So, was disappointed when I bit into a bunch of iceberg lettuce. This made it quite watery in flavor. Tako sunomono: octopus seaweed cucumber salad was ordered without sesame seeds. Well, it showed up with sesame seeds so when sent back they just "washed" it off and we got it back with an even watered down base. We seriously laughed over this! Definitely not flavorful. Takoyaki: Authentic Takoyaki has kewpie Mayo, Takoyaki sauce, red ginger and seaweed on top. What I got had only a brown sauce on top. But the batter over it was done well, but definitely needs to be served the right way. When asked if they had any of the normal adds they said they didn't and didn't even know this is how it is served. Our waiter said he had no idea of what it is. So gotta sum this place up with the Japanese food was not up to par. My recommendation would be to try the Thai food...maybe that is their better choice for authentic food. read more

Best Pad Kee Mao! Noodles have a nice bite, not mushy. Came out so hot and fresh. The beef option was tender! The green curry was so silky and creamy, and a very generous portion. Only seemed the chicken option was over cooked/chewy. Pretty clean, too! Which beats out another local Thai place! Would return. read more

Absolutely love this place, The Sushi and the Gyoza are delicious and the spicy edamame is very very good. And according to my wife they make the best margaritas in town hands down to any other she has tried and she is a margarita snob ! Give it a try you will not be disappointed. read more

I have had better sushi at other places around town and it was still good here but the Chicken Fried Rice was better at Thai Samurai by far! There was a ton of people coming in to get to go orders and there was a wait when we left after dinner. We only tried these two items on the menu so we will have to go again to try other items! Best Thai and Sushi that I've had this side of the Pacific. Takes me back to when I was deployed overseas in Asia. My favorite is the Pokey Bowl (and anything else on the menu for that matter). It is all spectacular. If you haven't been to a restaurant like this with a master sushi chef, you are missing out. Be sure to ask for Fred behind the Sushi Bar. His sushi creations are amazing! This gem is casually sitting in a mall next to a Haagen Dazs and a UPS Store and was an outstanding experience. Interior was chic and well-lit, with a badass mural on the back wall. Service was great and the servers were all Thai which was cool. The only downside is that the menu is BIG. Some recommendations or highlighting a few foodies would be helpful. Food - Pad See Ew with pork is a go-to for me and they crushed it along with a great portion size as well. I got medium spicy (lvl 2) and it was perfect. The flaming tiger roll was the star though. I was a little skeptical at first but the presentation was fun and the eating of it was spectacular. It was seriously so good. Perfect blend of creamy and crunchy. The tempura shrimp was excellent and well fried and the rest of the roll was delicious. Highly recommend. The water was also deliciously cold and super hydrating, I felt rejuvenated as soon as, jk. Just get the flaming tiger roll lol. I would absolutely come back if I didn't live so far away. 5/5 read more

Mt. Juliet has a surprising number of Thai restaurants, but this is definitely the best. The service is excellent and the food is really good, regardless if you dine in or get takeout. The Pad Kee Mao is my favorite and they fill it with such tasty fresh veggies and Thai basil. My wife usually gets one of the curries and she loves them too. The prices are very fair and they have very tasty cocktails as well (get the Lychee martini was very tasty). It's the best Thai in town and you can't go wrong here! read more

Instead, take on three completely different cuisines? Not my first time ranting about this. The food was okay, nothing phenomenal but the value...???...not great. I had Nigiri & Sashimi regular for $44. My husband had Nigiri deluxe for $34. We both had to choose if we wanted soup OR salad! Really !?! My soup was the typical miso soup in a small cup (flavored water) and my husband had the salad (small cup as well) that had lettuce and a hint of ginger dressing. You would think for that price of an entree, the restaurant would be able to afford to give each one of us a soup AND salad. But apparently not.... To make matters worse, my husband ordered iced tea. He never got it but was charged for it. Needless to say, I pointed that out to the server. We used to live in Mt. Juliet. It's been awhile since we've been to Fulins, another Asian restaurant. Soup and salad were included in the entrees. The same can be said for Wasabi restaurant. These restaurants are all a stone's throw from each other.
